Using the skills I have been Learning on this course, I have managed to fix a friends computer that would not work, or recognise HD drives, by using what I had learnt and reconfiguring his BIOS.
-Matthew

The last couple of months have been particularly difficult for studying as my father has been ill in hospital after his lung collapsed. Although this is not the first time this has happened ,on this occasion he had severe complications and was transferred between two hospitals after his condition deteriorated. Travelling to visit him and also to help my mother whilst he was in hospital took up a lot of time but with the family's encouragement I managed to continue with my studies and maintained my 90 - 100 % result record. Dad is now on the way to a good recovery for which we are all very grateful.

After a lengthy illness I am quickly getting back on track with my studies, after just 5 weeks back in the flow of studying I am already passing at the rate of more than one module a week.
-Nicholas
I have been able to submit 3 TMAs within a month. I have become more focused with my studies, I now have a timetable and I am actually enjoying it. This is uncharacteristic of me but I think the new A+2006 has worked some magic on me. I just can't stay away from the material. I'm going to carry on with this momentum and make sure I finish the course in a few months.

I helped a friend to restore his HP PC by using f10 key while the logo was display as his computer was not booting the OS. My friend was very graceful and happy with his PC working again as new.

Hi all, well I have just started my course, PC Hardware & Maintenance, not having studied for some years I am finding it hard going at the present, but with guidance of the team I will pass with flying colours!!

I have found it hard to find the time to fit my learning in, but am pleased with my results so far and have found if you make the effort and time you can see the results for yourself.

I decided to enrol on a computer course shortly after the birth of my son. I made a decision to stay at home until he is ready to start school, and felt that now was a time to make a complete career change. The man who came round suggested that I stretch myself and go for the A+/N+/CCNA course. I have now nearly completed section 1 of A+, and have found it to be very rewarding when you get good results back from your TMA on a subject that you knew nothing about just a few days before!! It is of course very hard work especially as I have two children and have to wait until they have gone to bed before I can start my studying, but I know that it will be worth it when I finally get qualified, and these courses are designed to fit around any circumstances.

I WAS KIND OF LAZY WITH THE READING OF MY COURSE WORK BECAUSE I HAD NOT DRAWN AN ADEQUATE TIMETABLE FOR MYSELF. BUT WHEN I GOT A SAMPLE OF STUDY TIME TABLE SENT TO ME I GOT MOTIVATED AND IMMEDIATELY STARTED STUDYING AND SUBMITTING MY TMA. I'M HAPPY WITH THE A+ 2006 COURSE WORK.

In April of this year, I applied for a new job with a Local Council for the position of Supervisor in a CCTV control room. Although I already held qualifications in management of CCTV, I decided to include the fact that I was studying for 3 I.T. related qualifications in the application.
I was invited to an interview where I was able to show the course work I was currently studying and material on the next two courses. More importantly I was able to show them my TMA results, with 17 out of 21 being 100%. The Council are currently in the process of changing over from an analogue to fully digital system, utilising the latest in I.P network systems. Because of what I have learnt on the course, combined with prior knowledge of CCTV, I was successful in getting the job.
On my first day I met with the manager who stated that I was the first in for interview and set the benchmark for the rest, with no-one coming near. They attributed this to my present qualification in CCTV, but more importantly the training I am currently undertaking and the qualifications I will hopefully achieve in A+, N+ and MCSE. This, they felt, was of great use to them with the new system coming on-line in the next couple of months, with myself as the administrator. It also means I get valuable hands on training with the contractors, overseeing the installation of the system.
Although I have taken quite a big reduction in pay to get this job, I see it as a worth while investment in the long run. I now have more time to dedicate to studying, aswell as moving in to a job I wouldn't even have thought possible for at least another 1-2 years.

I passed my A+ today. It was my first exam since leaving school 23 years ago. Although I revised like a mad man using study guides the OS exam was squeaky bum time. I would recommend that anyone taking the exam revises from the skillstrains course materials rather than cropped study guides.

I started my course at the begining of May and have now completed 4 TMA's and have in my opinion done very well.I am 59 and have never gone into the maintanance of a pc before and I think that I am learning a great deal.

I've just sold my house, my girlfriend has sold hers and we haven't found anywhere to live yet after being let down on the house of our dreams.
We both study hard for our relevent quals, and the only time we have is late into the night. So I surprisingly surpassed myself having achieved 100% on 5 out of my 1st 8 TMA's, mostly revised during candelight hours. I'm sure the long nights and droopy eyes in the morning will all be worth it in the end. After all it was my choice to take this on........for better or worse! :)

COVERED A LOT OF CHAPTERS SINCE I STARTED AND I AM ACTUALLY ENJOYING THE WORK.
