The last couple of months, I have been under a lot of pressure with family commitments and health problems, but I have managed to successfully carry on with my course. Its been difficult, but by working as hard as possible every chance I have, I have managed to pass the assignments each time with a mark I never thought I could accomplish myself. It took me ages to find out which direction to go with my life, but this course has proved to be the best thing I could have ever done. Since I've started, I've had more and more people asking me for help with their computers, and helping them with problems, the phone hasn't stopped ringing. haha. And with my new found knowledge I have been able to help them every time.

Hi, Fabulous . . fabulous session. I really enjoyed the amazing experience hope to attend as many as I possibly can in the mere future. However, there are a certain points that I would like to add, to start with, I felt that this was kind-of a one sided session where-in the students were not given a chance to express their views expect for 3 questions which purely expected the answer. Of course there was an indication to put the hand up to ask question which is a good thing. The other thing that would make the session more interesting is to add a few more modern day and real world examples like John did today. I know that the time is stipulated for all this but all in it was a wonderful experience and will make this information very constructive for my course.
Thanks for giving me this opportunity to attend the live session
-Ramanaiah
Very good, I really enjoyed it. We had some problems at the beginning, but they have been resolved quickly and competently. Thank you very much.

I really enjoyed this session. It was my first one and I definitely will come back. I already booked the next one Security. Thank you very much for your time.

Re: memory skills. This was a very useful session and thoroughly enjoyed. Loads of useful tips - things I'd not thought of before. Thanks

My achievements this month is that I have a lot of things going on at the moment, such as trying to set up a new place to stay, staff reduction at work because of the credit crunch and I just have a visit from states here now, but even all of this is happening I still find some time for continue to study and hopefully at the end of this year I'll be ready to move on with a new career.

I am grateful for my £200 voucher for PC World for a 2nd place in last months competition. This prize gave me much more encouragement to continue with the course, notwithstanding the difficulties. I received the news of this prize while I was on a temporal assignment in a warehouse in Castle Vale, Birmingham. I was really elated that I had to announce the news to my colleagues and supervisors who showed open surprise at my sudden change in countenance after receiving the phone call that announced the prize to me. When I told them why I became suddenly so happy, They all congratulated me, and wished me well. Some, including my supervisor asked many questions to get more information about my course. I willingly gave them this information. By the end of the day, I noticed their attitude towards me had changed. I was regarded with more importance. By the close of the day my work period was prolonged. I now enjoy a more cordial relationship with my supervisor and the manager. I am called up to work more often and whenever the opportunity is there. I have been requested to give a helping hand at office work a couple of times. I look froward to use this opportunity to change my status from a general temporal worker to an IT assistant. I am also grateful for the study materials and My Student World that offer me the opportunity to enhance my IT skills. They greatly facilitate my study and enhance my knowledge. Last week my PC was infected with a virus and malware. I found lesson 7 on internet security very useful in giving me the required information and understanding on how to resolve this problem. I was obliged to study parts of that lesson to enable me understand what was happening. Now with some knowledge of the problem, I was able to use my voucher to obtain an update of the anti-malware and anti-virus to partially resolve the problem. This has enabled me to access my files once more, and most importantly complete lesson 4, enter Student World, complete and forward TMA03, and to relate these achievements. As mentioned earlier, I faced a huge problem during all of last week to access my computer files because of the virus. I was almost discouraged that for over four days, I could not do any work on the computer and internet. This course gave me the leverage to partially address this problem. I am certain that with more patience and study, I should solve the problem completely soon. This make me even more eager to progress on the course because I have saved spending much through the knowledge acquired from this course. In effect, this course is beneficial to me on many fronts; at my work place and at home. I look forward to extending these achievements to my benefit. I am sure anyone could do same with the interest and patience. Many thanks to my tutor team and the administrative staff.

I`m working full time from 07h30 until 20h00,3 or 4 times a week. I have 2 kids 4year old and 1 year old, who needs constant attention. When I'm off from work I have to take 4year old to and from school and look after the 1yr old, doing the household work as well, sometimes I find it very, very difficult to study but so far I still manage to pass my assignments with satisfactory marks.

Hi there!
I am your current student in E-Commerce and Project Management. God has blessed me with twin baby girls 04 June 2008 and before their birth due to pregnancy it was very hard for me to carry on my studies especially last 4 months of pregnancy were the worst but I try to manage to be updated with my course.
And I always manage to continue my studies even after their birth, I am covering my syllabus very well keeping the consideration in mind that I am the only one person who is taking care of my twin babies and all house hold, yes my husband is there but due to the nature of his job he cannot give me much help on both (house hold and baby care)
And my ambition is that I want to see myself as an independent working lady that is why I want to complete my course as soon as possible.
Keeping everything in account which I describe above I would like you to consider my name in the monthly prize draw (Student of the month) which will be a great help and honour for me.
Please help me to achieve my this goal which will help me to be a positive person in the society.
Yours sincerely
-Ribca
Well, not that easy is to write about difference in Christmas because personally I think that Christmas is a great time of a year every year, and I believe most of the people would agree with me in this one. So there is many things Christmas differs from the other years just as we all getting older and older year by year, and that is why I think I shouldn't miss this opportunity to write not even the difference In Christmas, but more importantly a special thanks to a team, whom I'll be thanking to rest of my life, for giving me the chance to improve my life style and start over again. In the year of 1997 I chose to leave Slovakia for curiosity, so I left to USA, but sadly after nine years of staying there and living a successful life, coincidences did make me come back to Europe and I had to start over again.
It's not easy to come back to school when you 30 years old, but choosing a good goal in your life and having a strong believing in them will make it work for everybody, the age don't matter. If I compare my last Christmas, when I was basically at the beginning of the course and looking back today, three weeks before another Christmas, I can think of a last year as a successful, not wasted time, because I got only last two sections of the last version to study and first step to a new year for me will be the final exam and I'm going to be ready to move on forward and apply for a work at the most interesting job in Information Technology.
Truth is that this Christmas will be a gift less because me and my girlfriend had to move to a new apartment to stay, which is unfurnished, but I will not give up my goals when I'm so close to them. Why I'm writing all about my current situation is very simple, I'm just trying to say, that if someone been thinking or does think about giving up, the best advice I could say is that think of your goals and nothing will ever put you down.
Choosing a great team to help you achieve your goals is the very good step to it and SkillsTrain is the best option anyone can take.

SKILLSTRAIN HAS HELPED ME TO FULFIL MY DREAM
Back in 1994 I applied for a place to study computer science in the university but I was not successful. I thought I would no longer be able achieve the goal I had set for myself since I became aware of computing and the incredible way it can revolutionalize things. I studied Industrial Chemistry and went on to work for four different organisations from 2000 to 2008. In 2006 my friend introduced me to Skillstrain and he told me how I can still fulfil my dream if I was really determined to do so. We looked and the pros and cons and I gave Skillstrain a call, a representative came to my house in Hertfordshire. I took and passed a short test and I signed for the CIW course. We also spoke about the course tuition and a loan was secured for me. I submitted my first tutor marked assignment in January 2007 and the last one for the course yesterday, 27th November 2008. Now I have an incredible sense of fulfilment.
Wait until I tell you this bit of my story. Shortly after I started the CIW course, my interest in IT increased. My colleagues at work noticed this and were asking me to help them more often to troubleshoot minor failures in the office. I am delighted to have saved my employers money by doing most of their IT related business in-house even though it was not part of my job specification. Early this year, they wanted me to be the head of IT department but I had made up my mind to go for a masters programme in information systems. In December 2007 I used my progress report and syllabus from Skillstrain to apply to the University of Aberdeen and was accepted on their Master of Information Systems course. I will graduate in January 2009. I already have a better paid job than what I used to have and I now have better career prospects. My former employers have inundated me with calls wanting me to return after graduation and the good news is that I would be negotiating from a position of strength. I have also been invited by an IT company to be one of its directors. I would be combining my MBA, MSc Information Systems and Web Design skills from Skillstrain to contribute to the growth of the company.
I am also delighted to complete a self-paced study which I have been able to combine with work, a masters course which is so demanding and family commitments. We had a baby born to us in December 2007 and this required so much of my attention as well. It has been very challenging but worthwhile. It is amazing how I have been able to do all these without breaking down. It must be something I really love. Now I am happier, confident and so fulfilled.
I would like to use this opportunity to thank my tutor team for supporting me throughout this course and to Skillstrain for securing the loan which paid for the course. Without this loan, I would never have come this far.

I never knew what I want to study or what sort of job I want to do in my life. I have university degree but I did study what I actually was not interested in at all - agriculture. But I did finish it and graduated in 2003. After I did some travelling and got married. We moved to UK and it was difficult for me as a foreigner to get a “proper” job but for sure not impossible. So I stuck and worked most of the time in coffee shops or restaurants knowing that I can do much better than that. I had an idea to under take a course and took me a year and a half to choose the right one. Now I do believe everything has a time and my time came when I got pregnant with my baby boy.
I was not sure (and still have doubts) how I would be able to manage to pay for course during maternity but the will to change our lives and give a better future to our baby was stronger. I did study more while I was pregnant and now without any help of closest family its even harder to find some time. I do believe that others could do it so why not me?
There won`t be a nicer Christmas than the first one with my new born who is now 12 weeks old. I would like to thank the advisor who actually “pushed” me for it. I have no regrets. I do enjoy the course –finally find out which way I want to go and I believe I will finish it soon because I have the greatest motivation-my baby boy.
I wish everyone a nice Christmas.

Since studying with Skillstrain I have begun to find out what it is I am actually doing whilst using the Internet. It's not an option these days not to use it and by understanding it more I am more able to reap the benefits. I have started my own website as a personal hobby providing resources free of charge to aspiring blues guitarists and as the interest in my site has developed I have opened up an Astore (part of the Amazon affiliates program) to offer people visiting my site products of interest to them. Although this isn't going to finance my Ferrari at the moment it does provide a nice supplementary income for purely following my passion for guitar playing. I would never have had the confidence or ability to set something like this up without Skillstrain. This alone is helping toward a merry Christmas but in these dire financial times I get confidence that I am developing the necessary skills to participate and benefit from this online economy.

I think that, personally in my life this has been a great opportunity to have found an institute like Skills Train. The level of learning I have so far acquired is encouraging me to continue with my studies. Therefore I feel that this Christmas is going to be a happier one as this is going to give me a better chance in my life to develop better knowledge so that in the New year thanks God I could achieve my goal. I thank very much my tutor team which have always been there to help me when I get stacked.
And I also think that other students that sometimes do not where to get help or guidance about what to do or what skills to gain, I would recommend them to choose Skills Train. Even considering that in my personal case English is not my mother language, however I tried to do whatever effort I can to achieve my dreams of course with the help of my tutor team experience and patience. Happy Christmas to everyone in Skills Train.

I never thought in a million years I would be able to do this course!!!! Well I have shocked myself, as I have moved house twice while studying and that is not easy!! And have also lost 3 members of my dad's family and that has been exhausting time.
It has been a testing time for me over the last year as I have had times were I have thought about given up!! but then I get this great feeling and I tell myself that I am doing this course to learn and to achieve this qualification to better my life for my family!! I have learnt how to understand the internet and not to panic like I used to when I first started this course! I am proud to say that I am confident with my pc and know what is wrong and try and mend it myself and I have helped friends with certain issues. I have a long way to go yet but I am studying at a pace I can cope with as I have a part time job and also look after my 2 children, I will carry on enjoying my course and work harder knowing at the end of this course I will have a great career!!
-Caroline
I have only just started my course but am already very excited about it, I have been in a dead end job for 6 years I am now 25 years old and am enjoying my new course although it is a bit demanding for me but all the help I need is at hand. I can't wait to complete my course and reap the rewards of my study with a new career with great earning potential.
-Andrew
Studying with SkillsTrain is going to make this Christmas even better than the last………as despite the current inclement financial situation gripping the World Markets I am filled with those most Christmassy of feelings; comfort & Joy; since I know that I am working towards a most valuable qualification that will set me on the path to a brighter and more secure future for my family. As the ultimate provider for my wife and child there can be no better feeling!

For me, if I had an opportunity to thank every staff member and teaching staff of skills train everyday I really would, because skills train has defined what I am today.
Before skills train, I was just a regular student, studying economics. I had an idea of what I wanted to do after university, and after about a couple of years later I was looking to establish an internet based business. I must say, economics is a great subject, but it does not fully equip me with what I need for my future. So at that time my life was this, I would go university, study, and come back home and nothing new to look forward to or not exciting and this continued every Christmas. Every Christmas, I would just sit, though happy about my gifts, but my mind would always ponder about how would my future look like?, what do I do?, where do I go?, how would I start?, and as Christmas moved from year to year, I still had no answer. But in one day, all of this changed. It was a beautiful sunny afternoon, May 2008 actually, a sales man knocked on my door, I was reluctant at first to open the door, but then I did and unaware to me I had just opened a whole new dimension, a whole new vision, a whole new reel for my life. I remember he walked into my sitting room, smiling, and welcoming. He sat down, and then he asked me what I was doing with my time? I told him I was studying economics, and then he said do you know what you want to do after university?, at this point I gladly told him. He paused for a minute, picked up his folder and opened it, at then I thought “hmm... whatever he tries to sell am not going to buy”, then he started to explain how businesses' employ people that have skills, he mentioned different kinds of IT skills and how important they were, but then he said “I think I know what is best for you”.. And immediately I became curious; curious at that fact that, a stranger would walk into my house, sit down, listen to me talk and then say “I think I know what is best for you”. I sat up straight and looked straight into his eyes, like I was five years old and expecting a gift. Then he said “have you ever heard of e-commerce/project management”, I quickly said NO.
This super sales man, I like to call him now, explained in detail everything about e-commerce and immediately it all felt right. My dream, my goal, my career, my future, this was the key; e-commerce/project management. I have never felt so happy about anything before, it felt like this super sales man had been reading my mind all this past years and now he brought an answer. Immediately I started smiling, I could not hold it back, I was so happy. But then he said the costs, I must confess I did feel a cold chill but I did not let that bring me down, I was determined to do the course. He left my house, leaving behind the cost details and materials explaining everything involved with the course e-commerce/project management.
I looked at the book, and the topics that would be covered, all I could hear in my head was, “this is it...kelvin...this is it”, but I had no money, it was hard, but I tried to make sure my excitement did not ruin it all. With no support from my family or anyone else (simply because my parents were against me studying with skills train), I planned ahead, created a timetable to study my university work, organised the working hours with my current job and I calculated how I would earn to cover my monthly payments.
E-commerce became my first commitment, or should I say my first “subject” love. I called skills train and the lady I spoke to over the phone was so amazing, (I have to use that word), and encouraging. I do not know, but it all felt like skills train had been waiting for me. I made my first payment, and when my first materials came through the post, I was eager; I was excited, I was happy.
Now days have turned into weeks, weeks into months, I have read every material, answered questions and my results have been encouraging. There is now something new everyday and some exciting to look forward to, when I come home from university. I used skills train to gain an admission to studying MSc E-commerce in Kingston University. It is all a dream come true, my future looks even brighter. The knowledge I have gained from skills train has developed my mental and practical skills not just in IT, but my personal attitude to everything. Every page has been interesting, every material has been a benefit and every stage gears me up fully for challenges ahead.
I just want to quickly say THANK YOU SKILLS TRAIN, because of you this Christmas is made beautiful, memorable and I could not ask for anything more. Skillstrain you have made me the Happiest man on this earth. This Christmas I am definitely thankful I am studying a course I love and on a career path I have always wanted to be.
THANK YOU SKILLS TRAIN.
-Kelvin
I am student of skill train from last nine months. I came here from India 11 months before as a dependent. I only had a part time job at the time in a fast food restaurant. I had my graduation in computer from India and I worked on database system in India. But here I couldn't find a system base jobs so I relies that I have to do a course from UK but I did not have enough money that time skill train give me opportunity to do E-commerce and project management course that CIW certification with a monthly basis instalments. And I find myself in me for that thanks to skill train for help.

As I'm looking through the children's Christmas present list no longer do I have to worry about the growing credit card bill. I've just sold my first web site and the money is going to go a long way.
My journey began last year when I made the best decision of my life and decided to hop on the skills train. My previous background was in education but I only had some minor IT qualifications so learning web design from scratch was going to be a challenge. But with the expertise and support of my tutor team, clear teaching resources and a few hours a week from me, I have made good progress.
Now a year later I'm capable of designing highly marketable websites.
I'm now designing the website for my neighbour's business and the local Indian takeaway and I'm paid well. Anyone who has a business wants a website so the customer base is endless.
My new skills are in demand as I've been contacted to run evening classes in computing and web design. In January I'm doing this two nights a week which is allowing me to afford my new car payments.
I look back to last Christmas, working for other people, being under appreciated, under paid and overworked. Now I look to the future as shortly I will be able to hand in my resignation from my day job and work from home as a web designer. Nothing is going to give me greater pleasure.
So it's going to be a very merry Christmas for all my family and a new year with endless possibilities.
I cannot understand why I didn't do the course earlier!
-Peter
At the beginning of this course, I found the willingness to commit to study very challenging. It was very difficult for me to stick to my goals and a schedule. IT was a new area and I had a lot of difficulty to understand.
However, I struggled a lot but I never gave up. My strength and my motivation to do better every day helped me to fight my weakness. Today, I am very proud of my achievements. I have finally grasped the concept of the course work and have submitted 5 TMA'S in one month alone - November of this year with success grades ranging from 90- 100%. Previously, it took months to complete just one assignment.
Four days ago, I received another course book which contains 9 chapters. I have eagerly read and completed the TMA for 8 chapters already within this short space of time.
Because of my hard work and determination, I have gained skills that allowed me to set up my friends' computers and printer on a wireless home network. I also, trouble shoot various problems such as reconfiguring internet connection, removing virus and installing a firewall.
I am thoroughly enjoying this program and I have the motivation to complete it in the next two months.
-Steve
