Hi,

I joined Skilltrain in May 2007 did some assignments but after that I didn't got time to do work almost for a year. Now I have started again and I completed 8-10 assignments within few weeks.

Since starting on the course in July 2007 I have been able to complete the A+ section and with effect from today 21-09-08 I have completed the N+ section. I found the course very stimulating so far and I am hoping the next section will push me a little bit harder. With a bit of luck I 'll be able to complete my career change before I have to retire, its only 5years away. My learning skills had an awakening a few years ago when I took a course on Small Business Management. At present I am working as a Landscape Gardener maintaining the gardens at 10 supermarkets but it is getting too much for me so Im looking for something where I use my head not my hands. I will be doing my best to complete the course before July of next year.

Because I'm German this course is very difficult for me to do, that is what I thought. But after I started the course I must say that if you spend some time and you want to learn it this is a very good way to gain an excellent understanding in IT. And if I find it easy as a foreigner how easy must it be for an english person.

Getting 73 at my first work is not bad as my first achievement, for the past 19 years that I deed not attend a school working as a domestic helper for 19 years, I was really impress that I got this first result it might not perfect score. but base in my back ground its really good.

I must say that the internet training has completely blew my mind away. Thanks to SkillsTrain. I just had my first experience and it was very informative and it captured a real life class session.

Now I do understand a lot about way my IP address changes from time to time and who is responsible for the changes of course it the DHCP server.

I was asked sometimes ago by an ISP provider in Uk if I wanted a dynamic or static Ip as part of my Internet package and I was confused and not sure what they were talking about. Now I really do understand what MAC address is and how computers communicate with each other using Protocols which is more like a common language. I understand that the Network Interface card breaks now data into packets and send the packet to another NIC for the packets to be resembled. I can go on and on.

thanks to SkillsTrain.

My hardrive in my PC died on 10th September May it rest in peace (it was about 6 years old) rendering all but 2gb useless and the MacBook which was also in the house had just been sold on ebay. Unfortunately for me my studies had not yet made me sufficiently wary of how easily things can go wrong without to much warning and as a result was not backed up. On Thursday and Friday night after the nightmare of a broken computer I spent both evenings rebuilding the software environment on a new hard drive installing windows, countless drivers, a ton of windows updates and then all my recording software etc. After nearly throwing it all out of the window a number of times it was finished. As you can imagine I was pretty relieved and as I stood up to go to bed satisfied the job was done I tried to pick up my coffee and poured the whole thing all over my desk and more depressingly all over my digital camera and keyboard. The camera is dead and the keyboard is beyond cleaning. I suppose the only reason I'm entering this is in the vague hope you'll take pity on me. On the plus side I did manage to stay right on top of my work and did loads while I watched blue and green progress bars fill up for hours! I can't express how much I would appreciate the PC world vouchers at the moment especially looking at my bank balance and I think I'm quite a worthy recipient. Thanks either way!

I have not studied for over 6 years . I was nervous to start a course after such a long period of time . with encouragement from my partner and good advice from a member from skills train , I am confident that I will pass . I am on tma06 on CompTIA A+ and I have achieved great reults . nothing less than 87%. I wish to encourage other people to join skillstrain .

I have just started the course recently and I am already loving it. Since I have completed HND telecommunications and some networking the course ingridient is not new to me although I loved the way the course materials is presented. I obtained my first assignment 100% in the result and that put big smile on my face. Just can't wait getting it done.

I started study in March 2007.
In September 2007 finished the CompTIA N+ certificate and moved on the CCNA course.
In October 2007 succesfuly finished CCNA1 and the same month applied for a job at NHS, as Computer Support Technician.
I've got circa 10 years experiance as a PC field technician back in my country - SLOVAKIA.
In January 2008 I got the job at NHS - Pembury Hospital as a Computer 2nd line Support Technician.
I'm about to complete my CCNA3 and hopefully this year will complete the whole CCNA course.
I study hard every day at least 1-2 hours.
I really enjoy working with the packet tracer and get all the help & support from the SkillsTrain Tutors Team.
Thank you very much.
Best regards

Tough as it is I am getting there, slowly.

I think I am doing really well for my first part of the course only had to retake 1 assignment, and yesterday I built a computer for my dad I have been building computers now for 2 years with no problems at all. I have been working 11 hours a day and then coming home to do some revision and and think my results show I have been working hard from time to time my parents need help with there PC so I give them a hand
many thanks

Finally believing in myself to start learning again after so long, and doing pretty good in my first couple of TMA's even though I work a 6 day week and only get 1 day of full study.
