Office Professional (MOS) Course Certification Reviews
I'm a person who loves to help those in need. Last month a friend of mine was doing her course work, and wanted a three circle diagram but did not know how to do it so she asked me for help. Even though I was not sure want to do myself, I sat there for almost 3-4 hrs to this diagram I tried, I tried and then guess what! I did it! you should see the smiles on our faces. It was a pleasure and I was so proud of myself.
Another time my friend called on me again. She was panicking so much "Margaret I am trying to print my work but the printer is not working and I do not know what to do", she said in a crying voice. Again I rushed to her aid I tried everything unstalling , re-installing nothing. What we going to do? I said. There was another printera laser HP 6 so we switched and the same thing, then an idea came to me why not just choose the laser printer and see if the printer will work and so I did and lo and behold it printed! You should see the joy on my friends face. So even though you think you cannot do something which you might have studied ages ago it does come back so thats my achievement.

Although I have started this course later than I should have, I have been given ample support and help and have achieved far more in a shorter space of time than I could have imagined when setting out. I May not be a suitable candidate, but it is not for the want of trying.

I have achieved much more then I expected myself to so far. I am on my seventh assignment and I am also juggling mother hood and a full time job. I am hoping to finish this course before I get married in November. all the tutors have been a great help when I have needed it

I scored 19/20 in the aptitude test before I was offered a place to do this course, I also scored 75% in my first Tutor marked assignment and 93% in the second assignment. I've been very much encouraged with this achievement because I graduated since July 2004 and have been praying hard to find a career. I've managed to cope with the pressure of having to go to work, take care of my family, and doing the house work. I have been feeling very fufilled since I started this course. I have also understood a lot more about my laptop. I had it for four years but known little about the specifications. I now know what to buy when next I will like to buy a new one. I've also understood what it means to upgrade a Computer. My laptop had been quite slow for sometimes now, but I learnt from my study to defragment the hard drive at regular intervals to improve its' performance and I have done so. I've learnt a lot about printers and known what to buy when next I want to buy a new one. I have learnt a lot about the relevance of IT in the business world having watched the DVD video given to me. I'm so excited because I'm sure I'm on the right track. I'll work hard to become a Database Administrator.

I have acheived my goal of gaining 70% in my first course work, even though I have a family of four children under the age of sixteen. I am also doing a course in english, so it is very time consuming for me. I know that I have done my best and will continue to do so until I've completed my course.

I REALLY DO ENJOY DOING MY COURSE. ALTHOUGH I AM FAMILIAR WITH THIS WORK, AND WAS A I.T STUDENT AT COLLEGE. I NOW HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO RECAP MY MIND ON COMPUTER SKILLS.
-Kauser
Having known nothing about computers I enrolled on this course to hopefully start my career off, as when I left school I had a baby at the age of 17. I've done work in the past but nothing that's intrested me as much as my computer course. I have just finished the first two chapters and gained marks of 95% and 100% which I was more than pleased with.

I got 100 per cent in my last TMA even though I had to take care of my mother and still am ,as she has just had a heart bypass.I have been studying longer than usual just to take my mind of what my mother has been through as she is in her 70s.

I know I am doing the most basic of the skillstrain courses but I feel that it has helped me catch up with the knowledge I have lost with not using computers on a daily basis. I have found the studying for the TMA's and concentrating on passing them has helped make with my resent split with my partner and having to move back home a little less traumatic. We have two top grade PC's and a laptop, all belonging to other family members in the home, so I feel that doing as many TMA's as I have with trying to share hardware and do a full time job(sometimes 12hr days) it is a great achievement and something I never thought I could do. It has helped me with work projects as well where I achieved a high standard of presentation, due to becoming more familiar with our PC programs. I loved computers and everything about them when I was at school. Even though I have only recently started it has become a focus point for me and I am back to being as inquisitive as I was before. I am hoping now that the course is progressing that I will continue to do well in the TMA's and hopefully at the end receive a qualification to help improve my working life.

Training, and keeping good scores whilst under heavy pressure at work after being TUPE transferred to a new company and having to cope without my booking system and accounts help. Also after 2 months taking on a colleagues workload as she went on maternity leave.

I started this course recently and I found it very interesting although, its a bit difficult for me but as time goes on I found it easy. I want to thank all my tutor teams, they helped me a lot, because I didn't know I can do it. I was very scared when I first started the course, as I am very slow in understanding things but I take my time to scan through the book I was given and gradually I understand it. I could not believe it until I submitted my TMA01 and I see my score [85% ]am very surprised at it, that even gave me the confidence that I can do it,and I know I will come out in flying colours in all my assignments.I have the confidence now that I can sit for the general examination.Am using this opportunity to thank skills train.

While doing this course I have been looking after my 8yr old son and my 20 week old daughter while working full time although you May not see this as an achievement I feel quite proud that I can do this and stay sane.
-Laura
It is interesting to discover more about computers, and there uses and hope that by the time I have completed the course, will be much wiser, and hopfully to gain a good career in the future.
-William

I have decided to give up television and do more studying as I want to be working in the IT world. The job I am doing now is of no benefit to me so the more hours I can put in the study the quicker I will be able to finsh. I spend more than two hours watching TV so why not I said to myself indulge yourself in studying. It is a bit boring at time to read so much but what the heck just do it. So for me this is my achievement I sent in my TMA. I start on the next lesson and by time the previous lesson returns I have finshed the one I am on.

Firstly I would like to thank skills train for this opportunity to do something with my life. I am a 40 year old mother & wife, all my previous jobs have revolved round the children with their school holidays etc. my daughter is currently doing her standard grades & my son will follow her soon. I am constantly telling my children how important education is, but have none myself and feel a bit hypocritical. I am managing the course so far and I am really pleased with the results from my TMA's and feel really excited about my future as I have never achieved anything like this before. My daughter told me last night that she was proud of me but more importantly I AM VERY PROUD OF MYSELF. So thank you once again.

I come from the townships in South Africa and have never worked on computers before and knew nothing about them. Now I can send my assignments via the computer, I can use the internet and send emails, I have worked hard on understanding the course and I have learnt to use the internet to help me to understand some of the work and I have had good marks. I am a carer at the moment and I don't want to do this for the rest of my life so I am looking forward to finishing the course and new challenges in my life because this course is really helping me.
-Innocent
I work full time 8:30am - 6:00pm, which means I don't get home until about 7 every night, then I have to cook dinner, tidy the house, do the ironing, feed the cats and dogs, take the dogs out for walks and then I have to have a bath and do my coursework. My IT skills have improved and it shows as people will come and ask me how to solve a problem with their computer and it gives me a really good feeling about being able to help and that all my hard work is paying off. Thank you
-Kayleigh
I am enjoy my course despite the fact that I have difference challenges which includes having children, going to work and keeping the household together. Out of all this I still create time to study for my course work. My performance in my course work has been encouraging. The course has also enable me to put in to practise what I have learn and gain at work as an Business Administrator and be more efficient in the use of Microsoft word, word processing and storing data.
