It has not been easy doing this course and submitting assignment, as I am a priest of the Church of England and spend more time on pastoral and spiritual issues affecting members, developing my spiritual life, and above all, a final year LLM (Canon Law) - Ecclesiatical Law part time student (Cardiff Law School) writing coursework and also preparing for my project. Nevertheless; hard work, discipline, determination and time management helped to finished my TMA 01 which I had 90%. I believe this is great achievement.

I successfully completed TMA 01 (Tutor Marked Assignment), with a 95% pass, I would like to believe that I managed very well, as I currently have two jobs to go to, one in the morning, which is very physical and drains me of energy, and my second job, which is more so physical as opposed to my first. I finish work at 9:30pm, after which I come home to study for what was two hrs a day and now is 3 hrs. It sometimes takes me half an hour or more to go from work to home. By the time I get home I'm shattered and all I want is to sleep after a long and strenuous day, but that doesn't happen. I start studying at around 11pm -2am most days of the week, these including: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Thursday, Saturday and Sunday are not as texting. However, I know the strain and stress are only for a season, and with hope that when all is done it will have all been worth every hour of routine stressful dedication. Thank you.

Getting 85% on my first TMA really gave my self confidence a real boost. So much so that I was confident I could solve a problem that my Internet Service Provide, a cable company, seemed unable to do.

I have two laptops at home, one from work using Microsoft and the other a Mac. Since signing up to the course meant I had to use the work laptop I decided to get them the cable company to reinstate this laptop to access my broadband. Great I thought, now I can access the Internet from either. Not true! My home laptop had stopped working and after repeated calls to the cable company, every time I logged out it lost the connection. Needless to say I was getting nowhere fast so I made a decision to go out to PC World and buy a wireless router. I followed the instructions, very nearly lost myself to panic at the first hurdle before sticking with it to successfully install it on my home laptop. I then configured my work computer to pick up the wireless router as well. So now the children can access a computer at the same time as I'm studying, making home life less stressful!

I felt dead chuffed as I've never had the confidence to do this before. My understanding of how the Internet connections work has helped me to succeed in something I would have asked someone else to do for me in the past. It just goes to show, you're never too old to learn new tricks!

I am particularly happy with my outstanding performance in my first assignment. I have worked in IT department of a bank in my country for about three years as a computer graduate. My work is basically supporting users for effective use of the bank's application package(equinox banking system). I have just little or no knowledge of the hardware, networking/internet functionalities. Even most times I have to call my colleagues which a specialist in that area to help me setup my computer. My first lesson taught me so much and the material coupled with the lab experiences have made the whole thing sink so easily. The case study also help you to think and bring all that you have learnt to use. In just the first lesson I have learnt so many thing about the including the proper use of the resource centres. I can now configure my browser to what I want using the option button in the tools menu. Within the few days I started the programme I have learnt what I didnt know about internet and web browser since I started working. This programme is really a great one and I can wait to finish to demonstrate all that I have learn in providing solutions and adding values to whoever would employ me. I try my best to devote at least two hours to reading my material every day and that has helped me alot. I have submitted my second assignment and have started reading the third lesson. Hopefully before the end of this week I would submit my third assignment. I am mostly encouraged by the progress I am making and the level I learnt new thing which I can put to practical use. Thanks to the developers of this programme. It has really made much impact in me. The tutors are wonderful and always ready to assist. Is indeed a great programme.

First; thank`s for allowing students to expose their achievement on your site.
That will help to understand progress steps and the characteristic of each student environment, in both personal and professional level.

Second; my personal achievements as I see them:

A good introduction on the world of IT.
A logical understanding of the ways in how the world of computer behaves
a maximum information input in a minimum time leading to a fast progress
my sense of confidence in undertaking IT initiative and putting them forward into practical form, developing a great appetite for learning IT and pushing harder in the course study by allowing more time for it.
My life style is changing; becoming more organized an coordinated between the body and mind. A sense of support on a family level prompted by my display of the correct discipline, the result that I successfully achieved so far, are helping me in my current job and future prospect.

I have managed to complete 3 TMA's in this my first month. My results have amazed me because I have done 53 hours overtime at work this month and I didn't think I'd be able to stick to my study plan but I somehow managed. TMA 01 90%,TMA 02 92% TMA 03 being marked.

I have learnt alot through out this course I have achieved alot more than I would of thought of. I'm so confident with myself in getting this course completed I didn't think I would stick with it but I did. I got a 90% in my first test which is the biggest achievement for me as I have never in my life got a 90% on anything.

I think I have done quite well to continue with my course and am pleased with my marks so far. It has not been easy to do so as in the past 14 months there has been considerable upheaval in both my own and my family's lives. In November 2005 my husband and I moved to the Western Isles of Scotland to take up new jobs, the accommodation we had arranged for ourselves and our two children fell though just 10 days before we left and we ended upheving to stay with my mother-in-law for over 5 months (any married person will know how difficult! that can be) before getting a house to rent. Our new jobs are good but not as well paid as our last ones but much more satisfying. They were brand new posts and we have had to develop them to what they are today and this involved a great deal of work and an uphill struggle against some very fixed and narrow attitudes. We had to move house again just before Christmas as our lease was up, three weeks after I had some major surgery. The worst thing of all was that my computer broke down then died in the middle of all this, so I have had to use my work laptop to continue with my course work. It has been an interesting year, busy, tiring, infuriating but nevertheless interesting! So you can see why I am pleased that I have managed to pick up and carry on with my coursework and pleasantly surprised with my results.

Many thanks for giving me the opportunity to take part in the live internet training. It was very educating and interesting.

Even if I have read much of it in Section 1 of my CIW course, I still believe it ranks 100% when compared to other IT institutions.

I just cannot wait to be booked for another session.

Best of Wishes to members of Skillstrain.

As advertised, this was a follow up session to the Learning Styles training course.

From both sessions, I learned much about myself. I had already implemented one of the techniques from the first, and from the second, I now have another couple of learning aids to try. I found the first one worked well, and one of the new ones yet to be tried, I'm very enthusiastic about trying.

Once again a huge thanks to the tutors, who run these courses at silly o'clock to acommodate us all. Without their support and committment, we students wouldn't have such great tools to enable us to do so well.

A note to those who have, so far, not attended a live training session: you have no idea what fun and valuable resources you are missing. Shame on you, and get one booked :)

When I started my CIW course, I was a little concerned that the syllabus looked immense. This course, on computer maintenance, did 2 things: -

1. Showed me that I had understood my materials.

2. Brought some fun, cameraderie, and practicality to something that some would consider a "dry" section of the course.

Well done to the SkillsTrain team, and I look forward to attending the sessions advertised at the end of this one.

I found the live Internet training very positive. The information was useful, the display was clear and the speaker was easy to understand. The added information about motivational learning and the study tips was also practical and helpful. I will be attending more sessions.

This is my second LIT experience and I enjoyed it. Indeed it is hard to retain information in the memory and this is one thing that worries me slightly. Will I be able to remember enough come exam time? There is so much to learn and take in. I found the LIT useful, interesting and the tips were good. I am going to attempt to try one or two of the methods of remembering that I haven't tried so far, such as mind-mapping and the revision cards.

I only have the evenings to study during the week and sometimes find it harder to get into the studying than other nights. I don't know if tiredness is a contributing factor or not. Hopefully with the hints and tips I've learned about tonight should help make things easier for me.

I look forward to attending more LIT sessions soon.

Thanks.
