For my first LIT session I thought it was very good, it has given me some ideas for study which no doubt will prove very valuable. I will definately book more lessons.

First, I would like to thank you for giving me the opportunity to take part in the interatve training.

Let me confess that I enjoyed every bit of it. The presentation is Second-to-None. If only I could be taking my course just like this, I believe I will pass my exams withflying colours.

I know this might not be possible because of the comprehensive and large outline of the course. All the same, I appreciate your time and energy you use to prepare the session for us.

You and Your Memory, was a very intuitive lecture. It made a lot of sense to me. There is no gain saying of the fact that it will go a long way in making a tremendous impact on me.

I shall endeavour beyond reasonable doubt to tow and follow the instructions given to help memorising my course at all times

Thank you once again.

Thanks for the session, it helped me to identify how best I learn and other things I could do that would help me to retain information.

The Network Troubleshooting live internet training was a booster and tonic to my CIW training. I am very pleased about it.

I work for an IT Harware and Networking Equipment broker. While my skills are not technically based in relation to this particular role (I dont set up and monitor servers and such like) my ability to source products quickly and access information on the Internet is. After the first couple of sections contained in the CIW course I was able to apply what I had learned to my job, and show other members of my purchasing team an easier faster more accesible way of working.

I downloaded Internet Explorer 7 on all their workstations and showed them how tabbed browsing works, becasue they were always complaining about having to open up nine or ten browser windows, now all they need is one open. I also showed them how to set the browser cache files so their computers ran a bit faster, and how to do various other tasks such as clearing browser history, for which they didnt know how to do, cookie settings to allow them to be automatically handled and generally make their job a bit easier when it came to the accessing of info from the Internet.

My boss was pleased with this as he has no time to do it, it stopped people complaing to him about it, and generally made the research, information and surfing side of the dept jobs a bit easier. I have now been put in charge of maintaining these functions, and as I progress I will have various opportunities for improvement and responsibility within the company, all because I managed to apply something from the course to my daily working life.

I am really enjoying the course and studying and I am positive in the fact that this will open more doors and job improvement for me in the coming weeks and months.

By the end of July I should be virtually finished what has been a tough but very rewarding Web Design Manager course, that will hopefully open up a great new career for me.

I have already been in contact with a company, who will potentially be willing to offer me an opportunity to start a new career in Web Design within their friendly team.

For these reasons, I feel that at age 55, I deserve a pat on the back!

Finally I decide to write some words as well. I'm really proud of myself! Why? Well, just a bit more than 2 years ago I came to UK. I didn't speak English (well, still my English isn't good and writing skills even worse) but I had my aim - learn web design and get job in IT for web developer/designer. At first the course was very hard for me. Every second word I had to check in a dictionary, but step by step I go forward.

Just 2 years ago I find out how to write simple

hello world

and get fun with it. Today I'm playing with my own site. I'm learning school lessons and in same time im learning english grammar ;), photoshop, ftp, apache, linux, php, .. I building my own site. I have no idea what to put in site, so I just upload everything that I'm learning but still this is my design, my photos, my moving gif files - every smallest script is mine. I thought, it's not bad just in a 2 years.

Finally I want to say thank you to this course, which helped me to understand this exciting scripting world. Especially because my English isn't good but everything is explained in a very easy way. Thank you to the tutor team! I still dont understand how you can understand me :)

Following difficult times at home and redundancy at work I encountered loss of motivation completely and was struggling financially. I have now set my goals in place and am working part-time to allow me more time to study for my CIW certification and to rapidly achieve this to fulfill my ambition of gaining a career in web design.

My goals outlined were short term and long term. Short term goals included gain part-time employment, study for my CIW certification, and progress rapidly to my chosen career. I believe I am significantly progressing my studies as shown in my reports and submission dates and I am eager with the determination to succeed and possess my CIW certficate within my set timeframe. My long term goals include gaining full-time employment within web design and then eventually progress to set-up my own business in this field.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the tutors involved.

Since starting this course I have managed to keep up a regular amount of study hours each week while continuing to look after my young family, which involves looking after my daughter three days a week while my wife works and dealing with the everyday house duties of cleaning, cooking and house bills etc.

Being a self-employed musician which involves gigging on average three times a week while also being in studio recording sessions, rehearsals, running and organising bands and other musicians, and dealing with accounting paper work etc. I also help my fathers surveyor and architect business out for approximately twenty hours a week which invloves surveying on sites and cad drawing amongst other duties. I have managed to keep my timetable going at a suitable pace where I feel I am learning and taking the information in, designing mock up Websites and understanding the back end issues of running Websites.

Through the summer months which are particulary busy for musicians I have been encouraged and pleased with keeping my pace for this course. As much work as this is, I feel it will all be worth while when I complete this course and give my family an even better standard of life. I'm also really enjoying life at the moment, which is great!!

This is to let you know that the interative training was fantastic .

I was able to re-collect nearly if not most of the points raised on CIW course material on that subject.

The CIW course syllabus is a large one, but I am pretty sure the interative training will go a long way in helping us not only in passing our exams in flying colours but also give us a much greater insight what our subject of study is centred on so that we can put this knowledge & skills into practice effectively and efficently.

Thanks a lot for the time and effort in making this available for us.

I just cannot wait to book for subsequent ones.

Remain Blessed forever.

I currently work as a chef and therefore work long hours which makes it hard to find time to study my Website Design Manager course. I have never worked in the IT industry or studied towards an IT qualification before. In the last month I have achieved 100% in my last 3 TMAs due to perseverance, hard work and compromise.

Learning about anti-virus software and internet security enabled me to help my girlfriend purge her laptop of a number of viruses and protect the system for future internet use. I am very proud of my progress this month and my achievements have inspired me to continue to work towards a new and successful career in IT.

I enjoyed the session and found it informative. I discovered new parts of Student World which have since have been very useful, in particular the links to the IT magazines

This particular LIT session was interesting to me, as it gave me a small window into parts of courses studied by other people. It also served as a reminder that although part 1 of my own course is gone, it should certainly never be forgotten! *note to self* Rewind, replay, relearn.

I applied for this LIT session, and the preceeding one at the same time, and this one came up before the other. After booking, I noticed that the TCP/IP one should really be done first. With that in mind, I'm certain that the parts of my notes that were cloudy on this occasion will become clearer when I do that one next Monday.

Overall I found it challenging, but, with a little application, I see absolutely no reason why others who have completed part 1 and are doing part 3 of the CIW course couldn't follow the general gist of the content without having coronaries.

Well done LIT team, and keep up the great work. Sorry about your late nights at the office though. I do spare a thought for you this late at night ;)

A lot has happened to me this month, my parents got divorced and my fiancee had major surgery. I think my main achievement, so far, has been looking after my Mum and my fiancee whilst working and studying at the same time. Due to the stress of everything that's happened I haven't been getting the greatest results but I feel they can only get better from now on. Especially now that the worst has passed and I can concentrate a little more on my studies.

I'm a new student and have just completed the first part of my course with an overall average mark of 87%.

Studying has been quite difficult for me because, as a mature student, I haven't studied since leaving school at the age of 16!! Also, I have had no formal IT training, all my previous knowledge has been self taught.

However, I am really enjoying the course so far and am now on the second section - here's hoping to improve on my average score.

God bless the very day, I decided to take a course on Web Design Management with the SkillsTrain. It has not really been easy for me getting a job in the labour market in UK having being honoured with a Postgraduate Degree in Construction Project Management at the Loughborough University three years ago. I have tried as much as I could to secure a place in anyone of the construction industry but all my efforts had proved abortive. Most times even when I am invited for interview their excuse always boils down to ' You haven't got the UK working experience on Construction Management'. Working as an unskilled labourer is frustrating and disturbing. This has to stop.

It was day 23rd June, 2006 when I went to the Shop to get a Newspaper . While walking back Home I saw a leaflet by the roadside with a picture of the SKillsTrain. I picked it up because it clearly depicts a true picture of a ladder to success. I felt if I board this train it could be turning point of my life. When I got home, having had the fullest realisation that Web Development has always been very demanding and lucrative I registered online at once to take up the CIW Web Design Management with the SkillsTrain. No sooner than later, I got registered as well as got funding to do course. I was very pleased with my Student Adviser when He passed the good news to me.

I never surrender easily in any of in any my endeavours. At the beginning I was sceptical about completing the course been once a novice in computer hardware and software. I am very pleased with the progress I have made so far with my course. The tutors have been very helpful, the course materials (Cds, Notes) couple with the Live Interactive Training sessions are extra-ordinary excellent.

I believe, I am beginning to be a Don (Guru) in something I never envisaged in my life. Well Done, SkillsTrain. I am so happy that at the moment I am able to assist friends and members of my close family in troubleshooting their computers and software's installation free of charge. They are very pleased with my progress and development. This is unbelievably, a dream come true.

Not long now when I finish my course, take the CIW exams and passed with distinctions. My problem of securing a well paid job will become a thing of the past.

Thanks SkillsTrain for providing the Gateway to my success and prosperity in Life.

You guys have rare and great wisdom. You all have got what it takes to bring a brighter day and future for generations to come.

God Bless you all.

I am so proud, I know its nothing for some students but I have done 3 assignments within a month, as having a special need child at home, looking after him and working and trying to complete my study course, all that can be a bit hand full.

At university I had the choice of doing computer programming or business, I chose business because I thought it would be easier for me. I have been really running away from computer courses because the thought of all the computer jargon frightened me.

Guess what? Six years later here I am doing a course in E-Commerce and Project Management, thanks to SkillsTrain, it is not as scary as I thought it would be already I have submitted two assignments and got 100% in each. I really find it fun to learn about the various components that make up the internet, already this course has enhanced my internet surfing experience.

I have been working under pressure as my father had an heart attack and I have been taking my mum to the hospital for the last 6 weeks, but I have still been managing to study as it has helped me to focus and keep my mind occupied.

Having the worry of my mother having cancer twice, and strugelling with depression and a serious chronic back condition, I recently traveled down to the Skills Train facility in Luton (from manchester) where I sat the City and Guilds web design exam (and hopefully passed). This was a very painfull experience but I got through it with the help of the Excelent SkillsTrain staff. This experience has spured me on and I now have the Foundations Exam booked and am confident that I will succeed even though I have to revise whilst lying flat on the floor AND trying to look after my son (being a single parent).
