Web Designer (CIW) Course Certification Reviews
I m a diplomat holder in Computer Operations however, I have never being so confident and was looking for other marketable professions. Frankly, some of my friends who decided to go with the training are now earning more than me which did not discourage me at all. Because, sooner after starting my course, things began to change for me and I m determined to complete it.
This is because, I m now confident and excited than ever and very soon I expect to be a certified Web Designer which will open doors of carreer opportunities for me.
I still have a lot of work to do though especially as a full timer and a family man. The good news is that I have started enjoying the benefits of my studies. Forexample, I repair, maintain and download free programs which are relevant to my studies and which could have cost me a lot if I were to buy them in shops.
One thing I have always wondered about is how sophisticated programs for retailer, shops etc.. are created given the fact that the hold this huge amount of information without any conflict and how people could communicate using web technologies? Well its over in fact, I look forward to creating my first applet programs and web sites and more shortly after completing my studies.

I am from Pakistan when I got married I was studying and my dream was to become a web site designer but because of my marriege I couldnt continue my studies and I came here, after that I tried starting my studies over here but wasnt getting any success then I applied for some courses and aferwords I forgot about that. In between I became mother I had a baby boy when he was about a month I receive a phone call tha was about my course someone was coming for my interview I was soo excited and so was my husband then a person came for my interview and I was successful and he gave me first part of my course I started telling everyone no one was with me then only two persons my husband and my father they were with me because they were trusing me but I was a bit upset because I wasnt able to decide if I do this course or no then I started this course and now I am studying and most people are in my favour now because I am the only one in my family who is doing such course for a realy bright future. Now I am studing but with a lot of pressure from my in laws they still don't trust me and keep telling me don't know if il do this successfuly or no but I know I will do it because my husband is with me. I don't know if I have to write all this or no but I want to tell evryone that there are still some people in the world who has dreams but couldn't make them come true and there are a lot of people who can make their dreams come true with help of some very excellent hard working people like the people in Skills Train. Thats all I want to say and also want to thaks the team members who helps me alot.

I started my course about 4 months ago just 1.5 months after I arrived in England. I am 16 years old and I am currently in my final year at school. it is quiet difficult to cope with all course works at school and do additional learning at home, but I do my best as I am really interested in what am I doing. This course has improved my English and computer knowledge dramatically! I have achieved very good results with my TMAs. At the moment I am finishing my first book and I already help to solve some simple network problems at school sometimes. I understand far more now about the Internet, hoe it works, different protocols, etc. and I want to know more. I will work hard to complete all my rest books and get the best results as I can. Thank you very much!

Recently got promoted to a Manager's Position in a Call Centre where I work. With very tight schedule and long working hours and all the responsibility of Staff, etc. I have still managed to keep my studies going and wish to do further studies when I finish this course. Also, another personal achievement is that my wife gave me a news that I will be a father very soon !!

LIKE MOST PEOPLE WHO START THIS COURSE I HAD NO IDEA WHAT IT WAS BUT THANKS TO THIS COURSE I HAVE LEARNED LOADS AND IAM REALLY ENJOYING THE COURSE PLUS IAM AVERAGING SCORES OF AROUND 90% WHICH IS EXCELLENT I HAVE EVEN GOT A 100% PASS NOT BAD FOR SOMEONE WHO HAD NO IDEA ABOUT IT

I decided to do this course "CIW Website Design Manager" with Skills Train. To try and better my carrier. Even though I have found the going to be tough at times with trying to hold down a full time job and having the time to care for my two children with learning disabilaties who can take up most of your days off. But I am a fighter and I don't like to give up so easy.
The course has taught me a lot about Computers and the Internet that I did not know about, even though I thought I knew a lot about it. Thanks for giving me that chance to better my carrier.

I think for my self I am working very hard to get in line, because I have to work to pay my for MBA school, and also pay for this trainning I am doing and pay for my bills, my room, I dont have a computer, always have to borrow a computer or go to the cybercafe to send my TMA, I am not able to do enougth search, but I am trying to do my best.I dont Have enought time to study at home, I am always studing on the bus, when I am traveling and during the weekend when I am suppose to be focus on studing I have got to the cybercafe, I am tired.I dont know what to say but for the moment I am in the line.

I am currently a househusband to my wife who has been suffering with a personally emotionional illness now for the last six years, I attend to all the housework, shopping and gardening ect.
we have four children a 21yr old daughter and working mother with her own family life, a 18yr old son sharing a house and working, a 17yr old son who is still at home, and still looking for work since leaving school in September 2006.
and finally a 13 yr old daughter still in high school.
I took on this training course in an effort to attain the qualifications that will greatly improve the cances of me getting me back into a first class job, to hopefully work from home and still be able to support my wife emotionally.
and finally to improve our lifestyle financially in the process.
I had no previous experience of Web Technology, Web Design or other computer skills before I started this course, I had only used a pc to surf the web or play games on. During this course I have gained the knowledge and experience which has helped me to resolve a lot of problems with my pc such as virus attacks, lock ups, and system failures.
I have also had the oppertunity to assist a friend who's Pc suffered a virus attack, I was able to instruct on how to firstly rid the virus and then advise the best ways to protect his system in the future, to which he was most gratefull.
Finaly I would like to share with everyone that I gave up smoking as of October 28th 2006 with NO patches or other aid just shear will power, and I have not smoked since.

I fell far behind with my course due to moving house and I am in the process of getting a mortgage I've had to work a stupid amount of hours in work and now feel im starting to get back on track with my course and am getting really good results with my TMA's

As growing up from a relatively rural area in China, I really started to come into contact with computers at the age of 11 when I moved abroad to UK with my parents. Ever before that age computers always have been a myths to me, Ialways thought that only the cleverest people can understand and perform tasks on a computer. All I ever could do was to use some word documents and type some courseworks for school and play PC games of course, I never dared to go any deeper into computers than that, because I know it's too hard and complicated and it would be just a waste of time for me. As time goes on I started to notice that a lot of friends around my age are computer experts, they can do programming, computer repairs and what I'm trying to say is that they have a very good understanding of the computers and can do lots of pratical and useful things with it. So I decided to tackle my fear to this subject and that's the reason why I choose to study Web Design, one to challenge myself and two to learn some very useful skills for life.
At start of the Web Design course I felt nervous and had doubts about my ability to fully complete the course, I did not have the confidence to read through the books thoroughly and got relatively poor marks for the assignments. It all started to change when one day I got a letter from Skills-Train containing an assignment which I only got 47%. This put me into thinking that: I'm a human being too, why can't I do the things that everybody else can?! So that afternoon I spent 3 solid hours reading through the course note for preparing for the next assignment, which was about the Programming Language. I red through, I understood every single word and I actually enjoyed it! And for that assignment I got 100%, for all the later TMAs I got 90% and above.
Now I've started to do the experiments with the IT knowledge I've learnt, trying to understand the programming languages that are not in the course books, such as some of the assembly languages, because I'm interested. Sometimes I even spend some times discussing about Scripting languages with friends and ask how they do this and do that, I'm now filled with confidence to learn about the computer and to tackle and understand the most basic make up of the computers.
Since joined the web design course, not only have I filled my brain with basic computer knowledge that I've never knew before, which has set me a good foundation for understanding the computers in a deeper manner. But also te course enabled me to understand that nothing is impossible to learn, as long as you concentrate in what you do and put the real hard work in, you can do it. This to me is an enormous achievement and will benefit me for the rest of my life.

Despite not having a computer and Access to the internet at the start of my course, I feel I have achieved quite a lot in my short time with skills train.
I have successfully completed my first two assignments and have just submitted my 3rd, all in the space of ten days.
With limited facilities at home and at work, I feel I have juggled everything pretty well and made full use of time management.(Work/travelling/rugby/household chores, etc)
I am really determined to succeed in this industry and this training will get me to my chosen goal. If I dont succeed, I only have myself to blame.
With good results so far, and hopefully number 3 will follow in the same fold.

I HAVE ACHIEVED ALOT BY TAKEN COURSE WHICH IS CIW UNDER SKILL TRAIN. NOW I CAN USE THE INTERNET AS NEVER BEFORE AND ALSO ON MY LITTLE KNOWLEDGE ON HTML TAGS, I CAN DESIGN SIMPLE WEB SITE.FINALLY, BY STUDYING WITH SKILL TRAIN , IT HAS BOAST MY CONFIDENCE BY LEARNING ON MY OWN WHICH I COULD'NT DO BEFORE AND ALSO HELPING ME TO MAINTAIN MY HIGH SCORES IN MY TMA.

It has been very difficult to manage studies with a toddler and a seven year old son at home. But I have now decided that I will have to work twice as hard in order to achieve this. Nothing is impossible if one has a desire to achieve it.

In the last month I have achieved a very large amount of goals. One being not knowing anything about XHTML then after some really outstanding lessons understanding XHTML to a really good degree. Being in the British Army I find it hard to make time for the course I am doing, but thanks to the amount of satisfaction I get out of doing every lab and learning something new I make the time.

I am a Mum of two childrens a little girl of 2 1/2 and a little boy of 1 year old.
I have been studying Webmaster design since October 06, so far I have managed to complete 3 assignements which I have achieve grades from 83% to 100%, Yes it's possible. It has not been easy as children need so much caring and lots of patient too. I have managed to study between the morning and afternoon sleep of my kids and I try to complete the assignement in the evening when I have some peace and real quiet time.
I must say, I wish I had more time to study as I have learned so much about Outlook, Internet. So far, I feel I should be doing more to progress in my study but after talking to the tutor, I have reasure that it's better to study slowly and thoroughly.
I would like to apologise for my written English as French is my mother tongue and I have improved markedly my English throughout the 9 years I have been in this Country.

My achievement is more personal, I had a relationship breakdown over christmas ending a 13 year relationship, left raising my four children,alone. I took a month out to sort myself out, and now im back to studying did myself a study timetable, and I am now focused on the task in hand.

I have been studying (many evenings into the early hours)as a complete novice at the start of the course ,it has really bitten me now.I love the design work and in my spare time I like to paraglide.At a club meeting recently I mentioned to the club director that the club site was looking not too good and I said if he liked I would put a rough draught together.He said he would like me to have a go.So I actually redesigned the club logo did all the art work,redrew the site maps did the animation,and relevent pages,with html,javascript and perl and gave him a copy on disk.Last week I received an email telling me to check out the club website.Their old website had gone and been completely replaced by mine and also I have received so many emails from people telling me how much they like the site so I am very very happy,now I have all the server codes and am now the club webmaster.The previous webmaster of their old site is also a club member and a proffessional 'webmaster' and he was very pleased with the site I put together that completely replaced his.I am a happy man.

I started thiS course in January 2006, I had no previous experience of I.T or Web design, I have only used the a computer to surf the Internet or play games on so when I came across this course I saw it as a rael challenge and an opportunity to improve my chances of a better career.
During this course I have gained the knowledge and experience to help me solve many a problem on my PC.

During the last 8 weeks I have been able to continue to study under extreme pressure, with moving home, and my partner being pregnant with our first child, getting the baby room sorted out decorating etc, and not to mention constant shopping for new things for the house, and to add more a close relative (gran) passing away, and this not being the end of it my work has had me training 3 new employees in the last 6 weeks, so I have had to draw up a training schedule for each employee. With so little time I have had to myself, to fit in my course I have stayed up till early hours of the morning, and I'm now finaly sat my next assesment.

I believe that I deserve student of the month as this has probably been the best month of studying since I took up my job back in August last year. I say this as once I started my job I didn't concentrate on studying as much as I did before getting the job. That's why this year I have set myself a target to study for at least a minimum of 7 hours a week as I was not pleased with my own attitude towards studying. Since I have started studying again it has been hard to get back on track, at the beginning of the month I submitted a TMA and it showed that I hadn't studied for a while and I got a disgraceful score of just 48%, I say disgraceful as previous to this TMA my average TMA mark was 89%. This score has made me even more determined to get back into studying to how I use to study as I want to get my score back up to my average, with this I re-studied the whole section in detail going over it all several times to make sure I understood everything and that it made sense, 7 days later and I have now received my new score of 82%, this is a big relief for my and it shows me that when I do really put in the hours to study I will get the results that I require and wish to achieve. I am currently studying very hard on the next section of the course as I wish to keep my scores up and to pass the TMA first time round.

Mum of a 2 year old and pregnant again yet managing to study..haven't had much sleep but determined to finish the course.being a wife and a mum on top of learning to drive and being a student is hard to juggle but where there is a will there is a way
