Studying with Skills Train is going to make this Christmas much, much, much better than last Christmas because I am 21 and I live with my fianc裠and my 16month old son and 11 week old daughter and have been made redundant twice in the last eight months. This is going to give me and my family a happier Christmas this year because we all know that this course is going to improve our lives tenfold. We can't wait for Christmas because of this fact now we can afford to buy Christmas presents this year at a struggle like everyone else but not as bad as last year. Merry Christmas to you all at Skills Train.

Christmas has always been very hard to cope with, due to money problems. Studying with skills train is making my future look very good, as I will end up with a career with good money and a chance of promotions. With a better career I will be able to help provide my family with a Christmas they have always dreamed of.

This Christmas will be my first Christmas with skills train and having completed the whole of A+ before Christmas this will mean that I can progress on to my 2nd part of the 3 part course which will give me the chance to undertake my career in the computer world by starting from the base of it.

Hopefully when 2009 comes I can be able to apply for the positions that are available.

I hope this is the start of a new chance that I have been waiting for to do with my career change and helping me progress in many ways with the support that I receive from the skillstrain staff and tutors.

Wishing you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year at skill trains and to all its students.

I took the plunge to leave my old, secure job to finally move into an IT role. Only problem was, within days of leaving my old job (my choice) the words "Credit Crunch" began resounding from every news bulletin and news paper headline.

Not the best timing. I have struggled to get my first true role in IT, a contract, not the highest profile job in the world, but a job all the same. Now I am gaining experience from the bottom up. The one thing which will allow me to progress much faster than many others is that I have qualifications against my name. So, in a few months time I will have qualifications and experience.

Skillstrain gave me a clear defined educational route, which ensured I had the proper foundations to allow me to really succeed in my chosen IT field.

For this I give a big thanks to Skillstrain.

Studying with skillstrain has made my vision of life exciting because today I feel as what the two pound coin says, “standing on the shoulders of giants," where I can stand tall and proclaim that I have a dream that I will fulfil with the aid of skillstrain

It won't make much difference to this Xmas, but hopefully next Xmas 2009 will be fantastic. With 2 kids and being a single mum I am studying this course for all of us, so I don't have to borrow money off my mother for bills I can't afford every month. So cheers to a brilliant 2009 and Xmas. I'm doing this course for me and my children. Thanks.

Have only just started the course and am finding a bit of a struggle between part-time work, house and children but I will make it to the end and further if possible, and better job prospects.

I have been on this course for two years and have struggled to balance full time work (60-70 hours) with learning and as such was unable to complete the 2003 a+. To continue with the course I have had to start from scratch with the 2005 objectives. To ensure I complete this course I have had to cut down my hours at work and I have also taken a part time university degree to motivate me. To have time to study for the course I sacrifice work breaks to study every night. Also using the knowledge I have gained from the A+ course so far I have three of my friend's computers for no profit gain to increase my experience. I am also looking to volunteer to computer companies during summer 09 to improve my experience further.

After having so problems outside of the class room I have now come back to the book to study and since I've come back I've made much better with my course by having 100% scores in the last 2 test I have done which is a great improvement on what I was scoring before.

I am very grateful for chosen to do this my course with skilltrain. Am enjoying every bit of my lessons. No more outing to the pub!!!

Despite a nervous start of my course, I was able to gain a 100% score in my first TMA. An invaluable motivating concept for every successful venture in all aspects of life.

I feel as so I have learned a lot from my course so far. I feel I have made good progress on my course so far. My first mark for assignment 1 was 85% which was very pleasing, but I improved on that mark with assignment 2 where I achieved 87%. But what was more pleasing was my mark of 90% for assignment 3 which was done at a sad time as I had a family bereavement. I am looking forward to completing my next assignment.

I'm working 40-44 hours a week, but still have enough energy to learn. Just check my TMA's. :)

I am a senior manager at one of the reputed BPOs in UK and still am taking out time to do this course as I see this as a value addition to my resume. I am a caring father of 15 month old son however am keeping up my studies along with the stressful work life and personal life and after a long gap, am doing at least one chapter a week and on course to sit for the A+ exam by Dec this year. All this would not have been possible but for the full hearted support from my beautiful wife who herself is a hardworking staff nurse with NHS

So far I believed I have gain more knowledge in computing compare to before, I can now set a computer on my own and can trouble shoot any computer problem, I also have knowledge of downloading a programme, pictures and sending them to recipient.

Many thanks to my tutors who are putting me through and many thanks also to the rest of the skills train team.

Studying with SkillsTrain has helped me gain more interviews than the previous Christmas and is constantly boosting my confidence in IT. It has taught me that where I was unsure of a the tasks I was carrying out (eg. PC repairs) that I was actually right. SkillsTrain is bolstering my knowledge base and showing me new ways to do things in IT.

I would like to take this chance to say that my skillstrain course is going really well, and I'm more than happy with my progress with this course(IT course)I've only been doing it for around 5 months and my current employers have let me do more on the pc formats and help improve the way we work ,even though I'm a delivery driver, I've been in the warehouse and helped out with the pc, in time I hope to find a new job in IT, and with your help and my hard work I'm hoping this will come reality and not just a dream, I'm looking forward to the rest of my course and completing my career move into IT and be a success and I believe I will with this course work as been set out brilliantly.

Before I start this course I knew very little about computers, what skills train did for me was showing me the path I should take to have a career in the field I can be good at and get better job and achieve more. It took me a while to get my head around some of the subjects I was reading, they were new to me but I managed to learn them. At the beginning I was getting tired and yawning all the time, but I promised myself to continue studying despite working and being married and having two kids. It really is not easy but I am determined to finish the course as soon as possible. in the last month I worked harder and submitted more TMA's ,attended LIT's and revised some LIT's I have missed. Every day I learn more and more about computers, I managed to repair computers for some people through what I gained from studying with skills train and the help of the tutor team. My career will start right after finishing my course, I am so grateful to everyone helping me throughout my journey. I am very excited to start working in the networking field and put what I have learnt into practice. Thank you all and have a merry Christmas.

I have been working as Chef for 10 years now working in many top class restaurants in my local area. My working week consists of working 60 or more hours 7 days a week in two restaurants. In the 10 years of being a chef I have never spent a Christmas at home with the Family I have always worked.

Last year a Friend of mine told me about the skills train and he thought it was a great idea and gave me the number to call. 2 weeks later someone came out to visit me and after a chat and a small test he offered me a placement with them which of course I accepted.

I am only 1 third of the way through the course but thought I would set up a small business in October fixing and building computers. Not expecting to make much money to start with I decided to keep my jobs in the Kitchen. Little did I Realize the demand for my business as the calls flooded in and I soon had to turn away business so I decided to quit one of the jobs and on the 20th of December I will be leaving the catering industry for good.

I believe this all came because I made this call and wish to thank all the people that have helped me on the way.

I am thoroughly looking forward to spending all the Christmas period with my family this year and many more to come.

Thank you Skills train

I am enjoying my studies at the moment, combining it with my job. The only worry that I have is I have not been able to score 100% on any of my course work. I will keep trying. So Merry Christmas to All.
