I feel have really improved my results and been able to put in much more sudy time. I have recently been made redundant from my job as a joiner and it has been a real strain financially as I have a wife and young son. I was studying evenings and at the weekends and it was very hard making regular time. Since then , because of having the time I have used it to catch up with my training and I feel I have done very well. I have passed 4 TMAs in 3 weeks , 2 of them at 100 %. This has given me encouragement to achieve more. I have also had time to help friends and family and am currently learning to build a new tower with my brother in law who is an IT technician.

I FEEL THAT I HAVE ACHIEVED A LOT OF KNOWLEDGE UNDER PRESSURE OF WORK AND ALSO GAINED VERY HIGH SCORES ON MY ASSIGNMENTS WHICH I'M VERY PROUD OF.I HAVE ALSO UNDERTAKEN A COURSE WHICH IS CONTRARY TO MY DAY TO DAY DEALINGS WITH MY CAREER, AND FEEL THAT I'M GETTING EXCELLENT SUPPORT FROM MY TUTORS AND THE WHOLE TEAM AS A WHOLE.

This month I was able to finally put my knowledge gained from the CCNA course into practice. When my family are having computer issues they tend to give me a call and I turn up only to have connect them to the internet or update a device driver or another more trivial issue.

This time my mother and sister-in-laws whose internet connection I had previously set up with a wired connection had introduced a wireless router but could not connect through wireless at all and only the original laptop connected without the router would connect to the internet, despite both laptops creating a LAN with the router.

This was the first time I had needed to use my networking skills and I went into the routers homepage through HTTP and cloned my mother-in-laws laptop mac address to that of the router so they could get wireless access and set up wireless security on there laptops before saving it.

This worked and they can now enjoy wireless access through there router. They thanked me but about 2 days later they called to say they could not get access in the evening and I went round in the morning thinking of reasons that it would no longer work and loaded it up to find that it was working fine and had just been the ISP connection being down at the time they had tried it.
I did however get 2 cups of coffee and a warm thank you for my efforts but more than that walked away with a great deal of pride at finally using my knowledge to solve a problem out of the norm and enjoyed looking through the routers options.

Hi,

Being with Skills Train has been a great experience for me. I have developed a great set of skills in the PC world through the A+ course that I'm doing at the moment. Especially the study material that is provided for the course is exceptional, it covers a very broad area of IT fundamentals in a detailed manner. The course material helped me to get a thorough understanding of the basic and detailed concepts associated with the PC systems. Not only this the networking part covered in the A+ course material is very good as well, giving one an insight of the networking fundamentals. The material is so helpful and easy to grasp that I was able to complete the last two parts of the course ( Section A+ 2006 Section 2 Part A and Part B) in a span of 16 days. I submitted all my assignments in 17 days time starting from 12th Jan till 29 Jan and got 100% marks in all of them. Besides this the tutor team are so helpful no matter what sort of problem it is.

I believe joining the Skills Train is the best decision of my life.

Regards

I have joined with Skillstrain on August 2008. But I was not able to start my course immidiately as I was too busy with my University study. As soon as I finished my degree I planned to start the course with Skillstrain. I have read all the introductory information both from the site and red folder. The first thing was to introduce myself and I did it straight a way. Next day I have attended the Tutor Marked Assignment 01 and submitted the answers without reading or checking the course material to check my current ability for the course. Later I have read the book and found that my answers were correct. But still I was waiting for the progress report from my Tutor and I received it today. It's Excellent, well done with 100% and I am too happy to know that my basic concepts on Networking is as good as it was almost six years ago. Because I used to work as an IT professional at that time. Now for some reason I have been working in a different sector for few years. But I hope and believe that I'll come back in my own field in a very short period of time with a greatest achievement.

I have just done assignment 01 and 02, I failed on assignment 03 as I got 53% pass rate, my goal for this month is to revise unit 03 again and achieve the pass mark and continue with assignment 04.

When I started with Skillstrain, I had no knowledge of computers with very little English language skills. I started little by little from A+ and N+ to CCNA but also juggling with many other obligations as a stay-home dad with two young children. I study mostly at night when my kids go to bed. Recently I have completed 3rd semester of CCNA Discovery. Thanks to Skillstrain, I was able to enrol for a postgraduate course at my local university where I will graduate next September with an M.Sc. degree!! I truly appreciate the fundamentals I learnt from SkillsTrain course. They are very important and have enabled me to have the highest mark in all my modules of my class and mostly I am enjoying my new career now.

I have gained over 90% in all my exams, although I have a business life around me with having to go to work and cover for other people. Also in these last two months I have been able to help show my mother how to locate and search for things throughout the pc itself and the internet.

In the first part of my A+ Course I struggled to get into a rhythm for studying and each TMA was taking far too long to study for and submit, over the Christmas break I decided that I needed to sort myself and throughout Jan and Feb I have really buckled down and got into a great rhythm and am now submitted several TMA's a week. I think it's great that the Tutor team can keep up with me by marking several TMA's per week as this allows me to keep up the pace - I have just submitted the final TMA for the second part of my A+ and I feel I am making fast progress but all great marks, out of the last 6 TMA's 4 have been 100% and then 95% and 90%. I'm hoping to keep up the pace when I receive the next part of my course.

Since starting my course I have achieved results beyond what I thought I would achieve- 100% and 93% for my first 2 assignments, as well as gaining an understanding of certain aspects of the pc that I didn't know very much about. I've even managed to fix a problem I had with my pc for the last few months which has greatly improved my confidence.

I was going through a very bad period with personal and financial problems last year. However this year seems like it is going to be more better for me. I have studies very hard and managed to complete the first part of my course in just 5 weeks and have learned a lot. I seem to enjoy my studying more than before and definitely feel more relaxed now. These past few weeks have been an enormous achievement for me, I hope to continue and work hard.

Studying this course have open the door to computing for me, before taking this course I didn't know much about computer maintenance, now that I am studying the course materials it has open my eyes, and my mind to computers. I am very please to have this opportunity to study on-line with the Skillstrain Institute it has taken the pressure of going to college studying while trying to make a living. AS a new student what I have learnt so far has made me able to navigate more around the computer without fear. What I have achieve so far; I am very pleased. My children are computer literate and uses the computer to do their course work and their homework, but don't know how to implement or to navigate round the computer if a problem occurs, so what I have learnt so far I am able to show them how the computer is made up and how its put together, so while I am studying this course I am showing them things that I have studied so that they can have more insight in the future about computer maintenance and troubleshooting, we are all excited and looking forward for me completing this course.

This course has taken my computer knowledge to another level, the materials that I have received are excellent thank you very much.

I seem to be doing quite well on my course, much better than expected

I recently had my yearly appraisal at work. Normally these are just run of the mill, 'you've achieved expectations'. However this time I mentioned that I was currently doing my A+ and would shortly be doing my N+ followed by CCNA and would be looking to either move on within the company or look elsewhere.
To my surprise my operations manager had put down that I had ‘exceeded all expectations' and he would like me to build a CCNA lab for our other engineers to use and achieve there CCNA if they wish to do so, whilst aiding them in there learning.

I am yet to even start networking and skills train is already opening more doors for me.

Thank you.
