I have been working overtime lately and my in-laws are both seriously ill. I have had to manage my time and have learnt when I have a spare hour to Knuckle down and study. I have still managed to get assignments in, with not to many incorrect answers.

I was knocked over 2 months ago while on my push bike and was badly injured, while in this time I've found it hard to do any course work. Its only in the last 2 weeks that I've thought I need to get back to my course work.

All I've done in the 2 weeks is studied very hard to better my last score of 90% and I did that with a 100% for assignment 4. I am very happy with this mark as it shows when I study well I can achieve very good marks and I feel proud of this mark.

This is for the last 6 months but I'll put it for this month as I feel I have over come all the problems that have been thrown my way. over the last 6 months a lot has happened and I have continued to do the course to the best of my ability, my mum past away in December and I lost my job in January. even though this all happened I have continued my course work and maintained a good score in my TMA's. it has been hard sometimes to keep the course going but I just kept going remembering that my mum was happy I was trying to improve myself
p.s I have now gone self employed to be able to work still

I hope after this course, I can fine myself in position of PC/Network+ wizard. During the 2009 Objectives I find it hard to escape the program. After Email my tutor Vincent to help me I used Esc key to quit the program and it works. I'm happy about that achievement.

Today my son phoned me to say that he couldn't connect to the internet, he is using an OS (vista) that I'm not use to, but I thought that would try and help him, we spoke for about 20 minutes and I managed to talk him through to rectify the problem, turned out be just a matter of rebooting the modem, I have only completed up to TMA 5 on A+ but this has given me greater confidence and belief in my abilities.

I have achieved a few things this month, but these things have been very significant towards the direction of my life as a Cisco network engineer. I managed to finish part A of the 1st section of my course with very good marks on my TMAs', and I also helped 4 people troubleshoot and fix minor problems on their computers using the ASID technique of trouble shooting. the biggest achievement was helping replace and network about 32 computers for an organisation I volunteer for in ipswich. and because I did not need much help or explanations [thank to skillstrain] it only took just 2 of us to do the job i.e. the IT guy for the organisation and me.

I have been studying for 4moths + although I am very busy at work as chef and also having plenty of personal problems I still make some time to do my course and summit my assignments.
I had built my own computer and start doing some repairs and maintenance on my friends computer.
Hope I will get my qualifications.

I work full-time and I haven't done anything like this before. Specializing in IT is something I really enjoy. I have taken longer than I would have wanted to get through the first book, but I have completed it. I had great difficulty getting through this first stage because I had to get use to the language. I am not a native English speaker, I come from Turkey and I have lived in London (England) for two years. I am very proud that I didn't get any grades lower than 80% and most of them were 100%.

Achieving 100% mark in tma 19a while still working in my other job and looking after my children in my spare time so my wife can go out and work along with the worry of loosing my job and being able to carry on studying

Over this last month, despite being made unemployed, along with my Father falling seriously ill, I have still managed to complete at least two of the TMA's and have continued to study hard, so far I have managed to maintain an average TMA pass rate of 88%. A rate I hope to improve upon with the next part of the course. despite the adversity that is currently beset upon me I'm more determined than ever to complete this course with as high a grade as I can possibly achieve.

Every week I have been studying harder and harder to achieve my goals, in order to build a more peaceful and successful future to me.As I go further in my studies the subjects gets more interesting and I enjoy studying them.

I started with only 5 or 6hrs a week, and now I set-up a brand new target which is try to do a unit each week.I feel very pleased that I finally manage to organize my time much better.

thanks to train-skills I find the notes are organise very, very well and I find it easy to understand and assimilate all the subjects that I have been studying.

Many thanks.

Well with 3 children under 6 to look after and with my computer breaking down I think I have managed to get my study time in and around all the noise and problems that come with day to day parenting.

I know I have only passed 1 TMA but the 2nd is on its way in the next 2 days.
please consider me for Pupil of the month just because although parenting can be stressful I still can manage to fit my studying in.
Thanks for reading

As am a full time employed I struggled to get on with my course work but I make sure at least I get my 2 or 1 1/2 hours course study. Am impressed, for now I have done my TMA 1 ready to post my TMA 2.

It's nearly five years since I started my journey of building knowledge with Skills Train. I was 46 years of age at the time working in a warehouse rotating three shifts around the clock. Looking back I felt it was the wrong time for me to embark on a learning journey...I should have started earlier in life. It's ironic to wait to make the right decision. But I had no time to make the right decision until omeone told me,

"Don't wait to make the right decision, just make that decision and make the decision right".

These days at 51 years of age, I am no better off where time and money is concerned but no more shift work (thanks to Skills Train). The day begins at quarter to six in the morning and ends at around eleven at night. In between there's work that pays and the work that doesn't; such as father duties to two school children, husband duties with a huge 'honey do this' list and learning duties with maximum of ninety minutes of study time. Then there are some essential ground rules of no to telly during week days, no to nights out with the mates except one Saturday night in four (the other three Saturday nights are with the 'One Who Must Be Adored' with a glass of fine wine or chilled beer, if I've been a good boy).

Up untill now, I have not shared my story with anyone, because I genuinely feel that there are far better students out there than me with bigger challenges and adversities who deserve the best in praise and recognition.

I cannot claim to be a successful student, because to me success is a journey and not a destination. If you think about, the world of technology will always present us with new opportunities for learning new ideas and ways to 'do things' better. The technology is evolving so fast that in twenty years time I will go to bed at night being smart but wake up in the morning feeling dumb! So I don't think I will ever stop being a student.

I am not a qualified tutor or a mentor though I work as an NVQ Assessor and for certain, you are not obliged to follow my method. But if anything I can contribute to any of the lone students out there striving to juggle time and money to make things happen for themselves and their loved ones, then that is the courage to make a single commitment.

A single commitment to invest in yourself to carry out the task of fulfilling a single goal engaging in a single mindset will help carry you through one step at a time until the next single commitment.

So, if you are courageous enough to make a single commitment then commit to this:

When you receive the next part of your course material, ask your nearest and dearest to open it with a clear instruction to rip out the TMA question sheets and hide them away from you and that includes the questions CD accompanying the course work. Then get busy 90 minutes a day or night studying to sit the first TMA within a week of receiving the work. The results will speak for themselves on how to make improvements on your weaknesses and equally help you celebrate your successes.

Please don't take this lightly, because a commitment is a quality decision you will never ever have to make again...it's a done deal!!

Having Network + passed in two and half month with average achievement almost 100% is great success. Hopefully, I will be able to carry on at the same level.
