Thank you for giving me the exposure to the LIT, I am very delighted that I have made it to the class and I would like to thank our teaching department. It was fantastic, easy and clear though I got one answer incorrect but I am happy. My other weaknes was not being able to use the icons but next class I will. I have gained a lot about security as I nearly made mistake of signing on phishing thinking its the right thing and luckily I just ignored it. Thank you once again.

Having recovered from a serious car crash 2005/06, I was unable to retain short term information, suffering from blackouts, given the all clear to return to work in April 2007 I am now studying for my MCSA course and feeling confident in being able to study and retain the information learnt.

I never find it easy to blow my own trumpet but I feel that I am holding my own really well. My wife suffers from depression, anxiety and severe agrophobia, this has a big impact on both my job and the time available for study. My average for 24 assignments on the A+ is 93%. I am a 40 year old teaching assistant looking for a major change in career direction. With each assignment despite the stresses of my home, the feedback always motivates me to achieve the best I can.

I took on this course with no knowledge about computers at all. Needless to say, I now show my younger brother and friends how to use a computer, I have gained so much confidence in using pc's now. My assignment marks have been so much better than first thought, when looking at the assignments I was lost, but squeezing in as much study as possible in the time available to me, the results were worth all the effort. I've done all this whilst working a fulltime day job and 3 nights a week.. Really enjoying the course.. Goes to show that no matter how much time you have, you can still achieve what you set out to do... Thanks skillstrain.....

In 2005 I started N+/MCSE course honestly I wasn't sure that I am doing good thing. At the beginning I wasn't eager to learn but week after week I used to gain more and more knowledge. I didn't noticed that after 11 months I finished N+ part of the course. So I attempt for N+ exam and passed with great result more than 85%. I was so surprised about my knowledge because I didn't believe in my abilities. After 3 weeks I received certificate and I started looking for a new IT related role.

Just after few days I was invited to an interview from a BMW company near Oxford. On interview I surprised employer with my multi-skilled abilities, and achievements.

I get a job not exactly in IT, but with great chances for promotion in near future.
I decided to take that position; it wasn't easy because I and my wife expecting a baby in September and we were "forced" to move from London to Oxford. But we made the decision.

On my first day I met with the manager who trained me in new role for about two weeks, my job involved quality control on the production line. After some time I mentioned about my IT skills and I had an interview with IT manager. Everything was great, after next 3 weeks I was moved to IT department on new IT Network Analyst position.

I see now that this investment it is starting to pay off. I have more time to studying for my MCSE exam and I'm sure that I will succeed.

Now I have great job and in few weeks time I will be a father!
I am the happiest man in the world!

Thanks to Scheidegger

When I've started this course I had two big problems: 1st-I had four years break from studying and 2nd I'm originally from Poland and I was afraid that IT language will be to hard to fully understand. Fortunately all course material are written in simple, easy to understand terms, and even when I have to read each unit few times I'm very happy with my knowledge and my progress which encourage me to study more!

The Live Internet Training was awesome. Well done guys. A few obvious points in the course that needed to be covered but still a few things in there I never knew. Very well presented

I am very pleased with my decision to change my career into IT after having been in Human Resources field for 10 years. After just two months of commencing my COMPTIA A+ with SkillsTrain, I was able to move across to a job as a Junior HelpDesk Analyst.

I now feel more secure in my current role, knowing that only I can stop myself from progressing to a more professionally and financially rewarding career. I could not be any happier.

Thanks SkillsTrain.

After months of trying to juggle the studying, homelife, kids and work (nights) I can finally see that it will all be worth it in the end. Just sent in TMA 10 and waiting for the results, still averaging 95% and I actually know that the work that I have done is paying off. I recently upgraded the memory and the graphics on my home pc and it now works like a dream. Actually being phoned up to come and try and sort out peoples PCs (for a fee !!) and I have also got a placement with a local IT solutions firm in order to broaden my horizons in the IT world. Still got a long way to go but I am no longer out of my depth and will be be looking forward to my career change, probably after Christmas.

I have found much of the information in this course completely mind-blowing so my learning curve has been huge!!! However, last month I was able to identify that my manager's computer had suffered a terminal error (blue screen plus a message saying preparing to dump hard drive data!! not too difficult I know but rather satisfying to know I had got it right!). I am doing this course whilst working full time and trying to organise two children, one of which is trying to get into the GB squad for slalom canoeing and combining study with plenty of training and driving is interesting. I am determined to complete this course as I have worked in the Health Service all my life and feel that this is one of my few options for changing my life and having some choice in what I do and when I do it. Unfortunately I am unwell at the moment and having to take time off work - first time in my life apart from maternity leave so this is a new experience and not a pleasant one. Continuing to study when I can and get nearer to changing my life and that of my family for the better.

2007 was the hardest time for me, in my whole life. In January my Dad died and month after I was moving home. My thoughts and my feelings of the lost of some one closed to my heart made me sank. There was no chance for me to do any studying as there was time for me deal with so important issues as family and home; and I could not failed on that. Now I am back to what I have so much wanted, it is the studying. Sometimes, Still it happens , that my tears roll on my cheeks but looking into the future and being one day the great help for others puts my spirit up and helps me to carry on with my studying.
I am very proud of myself, as recently I helped my sister fix her computer and installed the internet on the phone and that is not an easy job when you are not able to see the equipment. After 5 hours of my help I became succesfull and my sister can enjoy using her computer.

I have been with skills train now for a year, it has not been easy, my wife has depression and anxiety and up until August this year I have been working 3 jobs as well as doing my A+. Th course has kept me focussed despite not being able to commit as much time as I would like. At the beginning of September I was diagnosed with depression due to my workload and the pressures of family life. The A+ is almost complete and I am looking forward to the N+. With my new qualification I hope to change jobs and reduce my workload. 2008 could look a lot less stressful and a lot more hopeful.

I have enjoyed every single part of my course so far and even due to ill health in 2006 and a near marriage breakdown I have returned this year to resume my studies,I'm now even more determind to pass my course and show people that even through aversities and struggles, that I can do it.
I have always spoken highly to friends and family of how enjoyable but also of how important it is for me to pass my course,as computers are more than just a machine to me,they are a passion and a hell of a lot of enjoyment, even more so in building, repairing and upgrading them.

My achievements in doing my course work so far,is pass marks of 100%'s,90%'s,80%'s and 70% score marks.I get these marks even though I'm a dad of 4 children and hold down a full time night porters position as my employment.

Since I started my course I have found it very hard to settle into a routine of study due to the hectic pace of life for mdern day young families. I have changed my job 3 times since I started the course so it has been hard to set time aside to study at the same time as getting use to new jobs. I am now settled in my job as a postman which I started at the beggining of April and this October as a family we have made some changes to help me progress with my course. My wife has given up her job at tesco so that she can pick the children up from school, which then allows me to come home do housework and study before the children get home I find it very important to have peace and quiet whilst studying, although I am having to work extra hours as a postman to make up the money which my wife is now not earning so I go in early everyday (4:30am) to make that up, and we are also being agents for avon to bring in a bit extra to help. I have found it very usefull to draw up a plan to set time aside for everything in the day, including study and even the time I go to bed, it sounds very boring but it realy does work. I also had to change my course material to the 2006 objectives as I would not be finished on the 2003 objectives in time to take the examination so that was a bit of a set back to start the tma's again. But as I said we've made changes in October and I have already passed 3 tmas and I am waiting for results on a 4th, I am now determined to continue at this rate until I finish the course and then go onto the N+ course, I'll keep you all posted on my progress.
