Microsoft (MCSA/MCSE) Course Certification Reviews
Since starting this course at the beginning of January I have become 100% more confident about solving promblems and maintaining computers, I have even started some part time work for a company that repairs p.c's and laptops. I have also built a p.c for a friend to his specification, which I feel is a good achievement in itself, because 2 months ago I would have had no idea where to even start. So I think my biggest achievement so far would be, having the confidence to competently build and repair computers.

I have recently started the course and have so far submitted 2 tutor marked assignments. They have both had marks higher than I expected, described as Exceptional and Excellent by my tutor. I have been devoting a great deal of my free time to this course and have stuck vigilantly to my study plan. I work full time and come home 5 nights a week and spend 2 to 3 hours a night studying.

Following January and February when I passed 5 MCP exams, in March I managed to passed another 2. By doing this I have finished my MCSE studying. I have gained MCP/MCSA/MCSE qualifications with extraordinary good result. 6 out of 7 exams I have passed with more then 900 points and one exam with 895 points.
In order to pass there is necessary only 700 points.
Now I am looking forward for my next qualifications which will probably be MSDBA or MCITP Database administrator or MCPD which will prove my programming skills.
After recently being made redundant I have found a new job as Programmer within walking distance from home.

The most significant accomplishment for me was my new job. After a long wait, I have moved into the IT industry. I am now working as a Technical Sales Advisor. Prior to this I was working as a part-time cleaner!
In the interview I had an assessment to complete. Knowledge and understanding, which I only got from studying with SkillsTrain, assisted me a lot. Lacking the knowledge of this course, I can guarantee I would not have been successful for my Advisor position. Before I stared this course I had no knowledge with regards to the computing environment but now I have encompassed a lot of things which has aided me to achieve my goal.
Furthermore, using the knowledge from studying the course I have helped many family, friends and neighbours with setting up their computers, wireless networks etc.
I haven't covered a great deal yet, however I am astonished at the skills I have acquired so far. My results have also been very good. I have achieved over 85% in my recently submitted TMAs. I very much like the style of the presentations, support notes and most importantly the excellent live Internet training labs, which is unbelievably helpful.
I am proud & thrilled of being part of such a great IT learning centre. I wish to convey my gratitude & appreciation to all at SkillsTrain.

Having only started my A+ course in January, I am very happy with my progress. I have just submitted my TMA 23 and I think that the way in which the course material is provided is excellent, and the revision supplements really helped me in remembering what I had covered. The best part for me was having the knowledge to attempt to fix a broken laser printer which ive had lying around the house, OK it was only a bad paper jam, but because I was able to approach the problem with confidence. It was dealt with properly and is now working perfectly. I highly reccommend the comptia A+ course.
-Anthony
Consistantly high marks- so far out of the seven TMA's I have attempted, the lowest mark I have recieved is 89%.
Managing to set up a study timetable that allows me to revise and to study new material consistantly, even while learning that I have to "learn" all over again how to study!
Using the knowledge I have so far learned to repair my own PC, which had suffered from a long-standing BIOS problem. It now works perfectly, and recognises all the hardware properly! (Beforehand, it refused to recognise the size of the HD properly, even when configured). Although with the knowledge I had gained, flashing the BIOS was a nervous experience!

Over the past few months I have been studying for this award in my spare time whilst taking on more commitments at work. This has made it difficult for me to find the time but after managing my time and studying in a way that enable me to find the time, I have completed my TMA's and in the past 10 months I have completed 30 of the assignments. I have managed to pass each one without having to re-submit. This has give me the confidence to take on new challenges in work as I am confident that it won't have an effect on my course. I am currently submitting around one assignment a week and feel as if I am making strong progress to completing my course.
-Darren
I have only done 3 TMA's but all have been above 80% which was a shock to me that I managed such good scores. I have fixed a friends laptop using some of the info I have learnt doing this course and I've stuck to it I've worked out a study format that works 100%. And my friends and family are proud at what I've achieved. I'm going to keep at it. I'm enjoying every moment of it.

I went from going at a snails pace through this course into a man possessed and am now spending much more time on studying and taking tests. A quick look at my track record will attest that I was dragging my heels a bit at the beginning but am now powering through very quickly. In my defence, I've had 2 little daughters born in the past 2.3 years and it's been a bit busier than when we were a bit younger, hence my training for IT and Triathlons has suffered. But I feel back on track now!

Currently I'm working as night porter in hotel. There's no IT technician in my work place and if there's any problem they need to call IT vendor where its cause them a lot of money. Last week the system was slow and there's no back. I've cleaned up the disk and fragmented and also create a system back up use mirrored volume which I studied last month. The manager was very impressed and considering to change my position to IT technician and has informed that want to increase my salary. Thanks skill train as I'm improving my knowledge in computer skill.

I recently updated to mcse2003 & during the month end of February, I realised Microsoft was discontinuing support for most of the mcse2000 courses on the 31 st of March.that meant I had one month to revise before I took the 70-210 exam..I requested the revision kit which I got after 3 days, studied intensely for 3 weeks sat & passed my exam..am proud to be a Microsoft Certified Professional ID: 6132524 thanks to skills train.

After a long layoff my studies due to illness , I fill so determined to continue with my studies . this time around I find it easy to study so that I can achieve the goals which I set out when I enrolled for this course. I had to over come my illness first and most of I would like to thank the college for giving me more time to finish my studies, and like the tutor team with the support the give.

I have studied very hard for the last 2 month after having gotten married, moved house twice, being attacked on the street and sustaining a stabbing wound last year. I stepped up my studies beginning of this year and have passed my first exam A+ Essentials with 750/900 marks! I am now going to take the Second exam. I have only reached half way in my A+ study books and was really determined to pass even before completing the second set of books! It took lots of hard work and late nights!

I just recently install and configure a new NIC for first time on my PC.Its easy but interesting to me. Thanks to SkillsTrain.

My friend came around with his pc because it would not boot up at all, he was getting a message up saying that his pc could not find the system 32 .dill or it was corrupt so I used his windows xp disk and did a system repair which I have never done or would have even tried or known where to start, doing this was successful and his pc now works again. I was confident to do this because of the work we covered in TMA02 ,I have more confidence to work with dos than I did before.
-Michael
A friend of mine recently contacted me as his PC was not running.
It would not boot because the system 32 dil was corrupt. I used the Xp boot disc to run a repair on the machine. Happily this process was successful.
I felt confident to do this because of the work we studied in TMA02 on dos.
I am gaining much more knowledge and confidence with each assignment that I complete.
-Michael
I HAVE BEEN STUDYING THE A+/N+/MCSA COURSE ,I STARTED THE A+ JUST BEFORE FEBRUARY '08 AND MY GOAL WAS TO COMPLETE IT BEFORE MY BIRTHDAY IN APRIL, I HAVE JUST RECEIVED RESULTS FOR MY TMA31 AND WAS VERY HAPPY WITH MY RESULT AS IT MEANT THAT I ACHIEVED MY GOAL.SPECIAL THANKS TO SKILLSTRAIN !!
-Anthony
I feel I have achieved alot since I started this course, ive had three really good results so far, starting at 78%, moving up to 80% now my recent mark was 90%. I'm extremely proud of myself, it's hard juggling a full time job and studying, but I feel in just 2 months I've achieved a lot more knowledge and I'm alot more confident about my future.
-Kerry
As a A+ student learning theories on books and for practical on my own computer, once I open up case and stripped down all components including the motherboard and put back to its original places but that didn't boot when I switched ON. Fans on the CPU and Graphic card were running but that was not booted and on the Monitor the message was "SIGNAL NOT DETECTED !".
I went through all processes as far as I knew from the books. eg: Changed VGA cable, monitor and as well as from PC World I bought a Graphic card but situation didn't changed. I was trying to changed the motherboard but suddenly found that just a pin on the Processors was bent. And when I put back after mending the pin and started my computer that was started as normal. From this time I will have always in my mind the message "SIGNAL NOT DETECTED !" on the black screen is the Processor not in working condition. Lesson learnt by mistake, I nearly broke my computer.
Thank you very much.

A wise man ones said, you come into this world to make a difference or remain a difference. I never had the fool understanding until now, as a domestic worker with so many limitations, I have been able to make a difference. With little or no time, I have been able to maintain constant TMA scores of about 90-100%.
Not long, a church member who is an IT technician consulted me to assist him in working on the church computers. In addition, I have been able to solve problems on pc like the following – crashed hard drive, which the pc technician call the blue screen of death.
- clone a pc for my friend [ build one ]
- solved problem of a PC that freeze or hangs after booting
- A system that could not recognize DVD drive.
- I also solved a problem of a pc that freeze and restart after booting.
- System that cannot be shutdown except by switching off the PSU.
- I also solved a problem on a PC with functioning speakers but non-functioning microphone and so on .
All these problems. I was able to solve due to a comprehensive and detailed manuals from skillstrain. This had made me to look beyond being a domestic worker and had encouraged me to change status as soon as am through with my N+. thx skillstrain.

This past month has been exceptionally hard for me as my dad has been taken ill with a rare lung complaint.I have been in and out of hospital everyday to visit and really didn't think I would get through it mentally,I kept up with my studies and have still managed to achieve a mark over 90% in all assignments this month.I would like to thank skills train for helping me through this difficult time as I don't know if I would have got through it without something to focus on and strive towards.
yours sincerly
-Daniel
Working 14 Hours a Day and Looking after 4 Children all over the weekend , gives me very little free time but I'm pushing the envelope at the course just completed tma 20, I'm well ahead of my schedule and have two exams booked in this month. I'm waiting for my next part of the course as well as working on the 270 updated exam course module. The next three months are going to be really busy for me.
