I have struggled for the past few years at home and away. I cannot explain it much in words but I have had problems with family. It has been very difficult for me financially too, with at some point having only a penny in my pocket. But I have fought through and come alive again. I have also struggled getting on 2 an internet.
I pulled through and now I am aiming 2 submit an assignment every other day, and so far I am doing well.

I have always had a great interest in computing but never had the chance to learn much, this course is giving me the boost and encouragement to push forward, I have had immense problems ever since I started but I have managed to juggle having to go to uni, look after my 2 1/2 week old baby and also find time for work. So far my grades have been no less than 80%, I hope I steadily push myself and achieve what I set out to do. Thank you.

I looked after my sick parents, worked full time and still managed to complete TMA 01 and TMA 02 within 2 Weeks despite not having the activation code to submit TMA 02 until tonight.

I have been in a dead end job for the past 2 years, stacking shelves, carrying customer's heavy purchases and constantly being nice even to the most obnoxious customers. I had finished my A+, but found that not company would still hire me. So I started on my MCSA and this has seemed to open doors, even though I'm only a fifth of the way through. I have recently got a job because the can see that I'm working towards goals. The job is in digital signage and interactive media, the knowledge I have gained from skillstrain has helped me get my dream job. Just in time for their xmas party too. Merry Christmas skillstrain.

To be honest I didn't know anything about the computer. Skills train built me up after that I managed to build the computer for myself and my clients. Finally I am now a certified IT technician and I'm still on the road chasing the N+ soon I will be packing all together in my briefcase (MCSA).

I registered for this course in July and my wife was put to bed in July. It was not easy to cope with baby and my course, since my wife is a PHD student in the university of Nottingham (LAW dept.), she needs to go to school to see her supervisors. I was able to summit my first assignment in November and I got 90 percent. This motivated me for my second assignment in which I studied very hard and I got 90 percent for my second assignment. I'm very happy for this result and its giving courage that I will pass my professional exam.

Since I started doing this Course it has helped encourage me to build a pc based touch screen jukebox. My partner is a full time sole carer for a young teenager mentally handicapped child with autistic tendencies, he's a great kid and loves music, but he has no respect for cd's lol he knows how to use them he just can't keep them from getting scratched, ;0) a cd does not last long in this house, hence the need for mp3 jukebox.
I guess you're thinking this has nothing to do with promotions, pay rises and the likes, But without this course giving me some basic knowhow on Amps, Volts, compatibility of Software/Hardware and Trouble shooting, I think I would still be checking out Ebay wondering if that part would work do this part fit for what I need.
So as I have now made the jukebox with a 17" Elo Touchscreen, Boxeasy for the Software, we tried it out yesterday. And he smiled so much and ran round the house dancing the way he does laughing and screaming with excitement. Knowing that he will be getting this for Christmas is enough for me.
All it needs is for me to check my woodwork skills to make a frame for it to fit in to lol and I have to two left hands when it comes to that. Nothing that a bit of glue and plenty of paint won't cover ;0)
Merry Christmas,
-Leigh
Christmas is a great time of year. A time for reflection. The year that's passed, the year ahead, our place here in the present and what we can do to better enjoy the precious time we have here in the world. Studying during this part of the year helps me to imagine how I'm bettering myself. With all the knowledge that I'm getting from training with Skillstrain I have things to look forward to in the future. The foundation of skills and training provided for me are helping me to achieve my ultimate goal of starting my own business and being my own boss.

I started my MCSA with Skills Train in August 2008 so I haven't had any promotions or cash increases as of yet. The course itself however has expanded my knowledge about computers and has taught me things I didn't know computers could do. The course layout is very easy to understand and has kept all the most important bits that you need to know without using too much jargon. I've just submitted my TMA 7 for my A+ Section 1 Part A and I've been flying through that with an average grade of 80-90%.
I hope all the staff and students of Skills Train have a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
-Lisa
I am working over the Xmas period from the 26th - 6th of January. Through skills train I will be able study over this period with the goal of taking my exam at the end of January.

I started working in this company last year right after completing my Masters programme. I started off as a customer support technician and within the last 11 months I have managed to get promoted to technical support. Right now, I am in charge of windows xp technical support where I'm dealing with all windows xp major issues. I got promoted all within 6 months after started working. I have gained massive amount of knowledge about windows system configuration, security, resource, performance and networking configuration throughout my study with SkillsTrain. In contrast to my promotion, this year's Christmas celebration would be one of the best that I could ever imagine. Last year, I can still remember the financial pinch I was going through where my family and I enjoyed a small Christmas celebration at home. All those moments are still so vivid and clear to me. We cooked at home and visited some of our family friends around during the Christmas holidays. However, this year I can afford to treat my family members to go for an exciting holiday tour. Thanks to SkillsTrain for bringing me this far. Everything seems to be so easy for me now. I feel so much of confident of working in a current environment. This is a result of tremendous knowledge which I have gained with SkillsTrain. Before this, I was heading nowhere, but right now I have a clear vision of achieving excellence and grabbing a better job with better salary scale soon.
-Devendren
Skills train have enhanced my life style, after passing my A+, N+ exam, I got a job with BT as 1st line support role, along with many job offers, which is really a big achievement for me, thanks to skills train, I am currently doing my work on MCSA and I am seeing my bright future already, Thanks to skills train once again
-Naveed
Before starting my course with Skills train I had worked in various warehouses going nowhere fast , at the beginning of this year I decided not to wait till the end of my course to find a job but to look right away as my partner was expecting my first born child in July of this year. And with the credit crunch and house prices soaring we needed a 3 bedroomed house straight away so a pay rise was needed urgently.
In May I was rewarded with my studying to get a job as a Network administrator at a manufacturing firm with a bigger pay packet, which enabled us to get on the property ladder. Thus going to make this a brilliant Christmas in our new family home all thanks to Skills train.

Over the past years I have been studying since successfully completing my A+ Certification, I have been selected for the role of Head Technician and manager of an IT company . This has unfortunately taken me away from studying more of the skillstrain course, but if it was not for this course I am sure I would have not got there.
I was offered this role over colleagues that have been employed in the technician role and have been with the company for many years before myself, however, this achievement was made possible due to the understanding of computer maintenance and repair that I have gained from carrying out courses via Skills Train and my determination to succeed. Very hard for promotion at work. One of my key tasks was to pass my A+ and N+ exams to help put a case forward for promotion. In March 2008 I passed both external exams to certify as an A+ IT Technician and now have the certificate on my wall at work. Then to make things even better I sat and passed my Comptia N+ exam in February and am now awaiting that certificate to go alongside my A+ one. My manager has just said he is going to support my case for promotion and fingers crossed it will be made true these coming months. All of this is down to the course materials received from Skillstrain making the studying a lot easier with excellent course materials.

This time next year…things will be different, how many years have I said that?, ohh..this time next year, different job, more money, Christmas wont be the worry and financial drain it has been this year and every year! it's always the same, more worry, more of a drain on my finances, choosing presents more on a basis of what I can afford, than on what I would like to buy for that person, its not that people aren't grateful, but for once I would like to see their faces as they realise their present has been bought for them, with them in mind, based on what I want them to have, something that reflects the value they have in my life.
One case in particular is my ten year old son, Christmas for him seems to start earlier every year, and his Christmas list seems to get longer and longer, we tell him every year the same ‘story' if you are a good boy Santa will bring you what you ask for and every year, he seems to note the things he asked for and didn't get, often asking that he doesn't ‘get it', he has been good, which is open to interpretation, yet still he has presents missing and you know kids, the ones that are missing are always the ones he ‘really had his heart set on'. its hard to try to explain to a child, who still believes in father Christmas and the ‘magic' of Christmas when seen through the ‘innocent' eyes of a child, that ‘money is tight' or ‘that's just too expensive' and how often do you find yourself talking about your Christmas's as a child when you received a present you were grateful for it because ‘times were hard', and so I guess the ‘circle' keeps on turning, we couldn't have what we ‘wanted' for Christmas because ‘money was tight' and now , here I am saying exactly the same thing to my child, using the same arguments my parents, no doubt, used on me.
In August this year, I celebrated being 48 years old, I could continue in the job I have, continue living where I do, continue sitting here at my computer every month, looking at what I get paid into my account and then looking at what I have to pay out and wondering why the latter seems to swallow up all my income and then some, or, I could look at ways I can improve myself, improve my job, improve where I live, and improve my income and that's what Skillstrain means to me, so next Christmas, I aim to be in my new career, with my improved income, be living in a home that my family and I will be happy in, and when we give presents next year, people will know, they have been bought based on what they mean to me and not what I can afford.
