At first I wanted to start the course, was eager etc, until........ I opened the Course Work file. I looked at it............ and again looked at it, and wondered had I done the right thing in enrolling.
I was overwhelmed by the content and amount of information. To say that I was daunted by the challenge, was a big understatement.
However, I started to plough through the course work.
After the first Two or Three sections I began to enjoy the work and I was learning.
I still feel a little daunted by some sections, but I am achieving good results and I have set my sights on finishing and achieving the Qualification.
However, I wonder how I can remember all the information to pass the final exam.

I am studying MCSE course with skills train, I found it very useful. At the begining I had very little knowledge about computers and always wanted to become a computer expert. Since I have started this course with skills train it seems that I have learned and gained lots of knowledge and information regarding computers. Lots of my friends when they face any problem with thier computers, they contact me to fix that and I am really happy for the course I am doing the materials are all excellent and also the support of the tutors. A few weeks ago I was in internet cafe with a friend of mine who runs that small business and one of his customer downloaded some programes and it was attached with torjan virus so he started complaining regrading his network and that PC which was runing slowly and also the PC was stacking all the time. So he turned his face to me and tole me that as far as I know you are doing a computer course for almost a year so can you do somthing and sort out this problem. I was really embarresed and in my hearth I was saying oh God please do not make me down infront of these guys, so I started searching so I found a message was saying c: drive been affected by torjan virus so I installed norton live update system and scan his c: drive and found the exact address of the virus and carry out till I delete the virus and reboot the computer it was working as it was before. He was really happy for what I did and he offered me a part time job as PC Service Technician, I was very pride of myself. Now I am doing a part time job with him hopefuly very soon he will recruit me as full time and suddenly my dreams comes true.
I proud of my hard study and the great and excellent materials of skills train as well.

Behind every success there's always somebody , in my case my tutor team are the reason for my achievements.child minding is not a child's play , most especially if it has to do with a set of baby twins and a four year old girl, knowing that their parent will be home between 9 to 10pm at night. with this conditions I have been able to finish section 1 part A, with a minimum score of 75 and 80 percent and a maximum of 90 ,98 , 100 percent. I am currently in section in part B. I know by the time I am through with my MCSE course skillstrain would have completely trained A SOMEBODY OUT OF NOBODY.

Behind every success there's always somebody , in my case my tutor team are the reason for my success.you will quite agree with me that child minding is not a child's play ,most especially if it has to do with a set of twins and a four years old girl, knowing that you have some daily activities to carry out. At the end of the you only have little or or no time to study. In this conditions I have been able to finish section 1 part A with two minimum scores of 75 and 80 percent and a maximum of 90, 98 and 100 percent respectively and I am currently studying section 1 part B pre preparing to submit TMA 09 .It has not been easy with motivational advice from the tutor team I have been able to stay focus

Over the past 3 months I have had to manage to find the time to study, while under pressure from working up to 12 hours per day, coming home and doing all the house work and cooking as my wife is pregnant and has a disorder called SPD (symphysis pubis dysfunction), and giving up smoking while still attaining high marks on my TMA.

I started my MCSE course a month ago (January 2007). I am a single mother and live with my 21 months baby. My first language is French. I am learning English at the same time (four hours a week). I have achieved very good my assignments. I am working very hard because I need to pass the course and start a good job which will help me to take care of my little son.
Thanks to Skills Train for it's brillant idea to provide this kind of course.

I often used to upgrade my PC and spending lots of money on motherboards etc. I used to think the more you spend the better the PC. In some respects this is true as we are using moore's law and components are getting more powerful by the day! However after getting through the first two assesments, I have begun to appreciate components a lot more. And that it's not worth forking out hundreds of pounds on upgrades when I have a great PC already!!
I've managed to get mum to use the internet. She couldn't even swith on a PC before!!
Even though my Grandfather passed away on 16 Feb 07, I have managed to get through to the second assesment (even though a little delayed). I'm hoping for a good score.

Getting 100% in my first TMA also with what I learnt about the trouble-shooting models. I put into practice at work when the restaurant's P.O.S network went down and when the online restaurant booking system would not work. Here I used the Comp TIA's netwok+ trouble-shooting model to fix the problem.

After a difficult time adjusting to a new job, I have managed to get back on course and complete the A+ section of my study. I'm now well on my way working through the N+ section and revising for my exams on A+ which I know I will do well in!
-David
(a) I managed to stick to my study plan, which was to read each module ahead of the applicable TMA. I have also managed to maintain a revision schedule (though with some difficulties because of other pressing engagements). Keeping pace with revision is helpful to me because the practice of scanning and browsing already read material once in a while has an effect of pushing the acquired information into the permanent or retention memory area of my brain. This will lighten overall preparatory revision for the exam at the end of the course and lessen or avoid stress. (b) I have managed to submit about 2 assignments every week on average. At this rate (provided I maintain it) I intend to have submitted about 40 assignments by July 2007, while managing to retain in my memory a greater percentage of the covered material. (c) Of the seven (7) assignments that I have submitted, I have repeated only one (1) assignment, whose mark was 60%. (d) I have maintained an average of 80% mark for all the seven (7) assignments that have been marked so far, excluding the repeated 100% mark. (e) I have taken an average of 6.5 minutes for each of the 10-question assignments, going by the eight (8) TMAs that I have submitted so far. The questions which I got incorrect (14 out of a total of 70 to date) were a revelation that I had not mastered the material for those questions in as much detail as the other sections whose questions I answered correctly and effortlessly. (f) I have managed to put into practice the knowledge that I gained from the course. For example, In August 2006, I bought a DELL Dimension PC from a garage sale. But when I turned it on, the PC took about 2 days to boot, and would not run in the end. I sent it to PC World Clinic, who returned it after 5 weeks, having failed to resolve the problem on the grounds that I was supposed to provide them with a recovery disc, which I did not have, neither could I trace the seller. But after going through the BOOT and System Configuration modules of the MCSE course in February 2007, I managed to reconfigure the DELL PC to its original settings, and the machine is performing with explosive power right now, clearly surpassing the other 3 new PCs which I acquired previously from COMET.
In hind sight, this garage sale DELL Dimension PC turned out to be the most cost effective acquisition, all because of the MCSE studies in February 2007. The second example is that when Windows VISTA was launched, I upgraded one of my PCs with Windows XP Professional to Windows VISTA Ultimate. I encountered serious incompatibility problems with several programs on hard drive, especially the Symantec Antivirus 2006. Even the upgrade to version 10.2 as recommended on their website did not work. However, through the modules which I covered in February 2007, I managed to try things out and resolved all the problems and I am now enjoying pure magic in VISTA Ultimate on the 1MB RAM ACE Aspire T180. In the regime of tuning up a PC and resolving periodic and frequent PC problems, the knowledge gained in February from the MCSE course has been put to good use.
Therefore because I have managed to keep a good pace in my studies and revision work, and applied the knowledge which I learn to useful and practical purposes.

Since starting my my new job 5 month ago with virgin media broadband as a 1st line technical support, it has been really tough going by trying to get time to do my studing and work the unsociable hours for the company at same time. some times after a tough day dealing with the public shouting at you on phones because there internet is off or mistreated by someone else, I have had to pick up the pieces and then try to study my N+ course, which I have eventually succeed in the last assignment of book C. The pressure gets to you every day as there is not enough time in the day to fit everything in, but I always try to make the effort, even after having the car crash which some days I feel not up to doing the college work, but I'm determeined and still want to achieve my goal. The IT department are willing to train me up aswell by doing shadowing in my own time to get extra experience and to help me with the course. So I feel this has been a good achievement in my part under all circumstances.

I fell behind with my coursework last month due to me losing my job and I was upset and stressed out. But now I am back on track with my coursework and catching up very quickly. I have also taught four new people about how to use a computer and how a computer works so I am very proud of myself and I'm glad I can help people learn a new skill that will come in very handy for everyday jobs.

I have just restarted my course after having some personal problems. I have entered my second TMA after only 2 days and hope to submit my 3rd one as soon as I get the results back. I have also past my driver theroy test which I did not think I would do on the first try, I will also be sitting my driveing test in 2 weeks and hope to past that aswell.

Since I started this course I known much more about computers, than when I started I had little idea on how to use email and I also did clait which I did not finish the course but now I can build a computer which I have already started, I have not finish it because I have't got the money for the material. I can install floppy disk drive, hard drive, and the buses with the motherboard and other devices which I bought in secondhand shop. I also spoke with a friend and he said to me he is sure I can sit for A+ Exams with the level I'm at. I have also gain more knowledge on this course on window installation, I'm really happy with the school and the team staff.
-Henryson

Since I was impressed with the IT System I started to know about it. I had no knowledge on IT at all then took a ECDL Course even when I was extremely busy on my job. I managed to level 2 cerificate at the end and which is helping me in my daily job. most of the work I do is in the computer.
Yes I have achieved basic knowledge on Software side of life but more you do more you want to know, I have very little knowledge on Computer Hardware in most case I get many problems to my own computer but I can do nothing, there for I wanted to do a course so that I can solve problem my self and even get a better job prospect when I retired. Luckily or eventually my friend impressed me about Skillstrain. It is my just a beginning of my IT career an am starting to see a lot out there that I can achive from this course.

Actually it has not being long I started this course but it has done a lot in my understanding of networking. when I first did networking courses during my undergraduate it was like a threat in my course, in that each time I remeber we will have network class I feel so sad because I hate when I engange in any thing I devoted my time and I will not see the effect of it in my knowlwege.
It seems I wasted all my preciouse time in the class because I gained just litle understanding. With N+ as a selective course to MSCA would have knocked off my urge to enroll with the course, but thanks to ur collegue that visited my house , she was able to explain everything and convince me with the course.
Hence, ever since I started the course am happy with it because there is a big difference in my knowledge of networking. In that I have confidence within me when discussing network with any one despite the fact that I have a baby who is always there to disturb when am reading but the course work material seems to be easy and clear to understand with the little tiome I put into the study.
Am glad to enroll with the course, I can't stop to be happy with myself of what a chnge in me.
-Hope
Since I have started the course I have acheived results beyond what I thought I could. I restarted the course when I sent for the undated version which I find is more in depth and the troubleshouting section is a great help.my TMA scores have ranged from 87% - 100%.All this studying is undertaken while holding down a perminent nightshift job and visiting my children at weekends.since the studying I have been able to help friends family with a variety of pc problems with either hardware or sorfware which I am improving all the time.Hopefully when I have completed some more coursework I will apply for partime jobs to get more experience in this field of further employment

I FEEL THAT EVEN WITH MY ILL HEALTH I AM PROGRESSING AT A RATE THAT SUITS ME , ALSO THAT I AM SUPPRISING MYSELF WITH THE RESULTS THAT I HAVE BEEN GETTING , MY FREINDS AND NEIGHBOURS ARE NOW ASKING ME TO HAVE A LOOK AT THEIR COMPUTORS FOR THEM, WHICH I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO FIX AND INSTALL NEW HARDWARE FOR THEM , WHICH FILLS ME WITH GREAT SATISFACTION
-George
I feel my biggest achievement was taking the decision to enroll on the course. At the age of 53 the prospect of changing careers was daunting. After listening to your representative and finally deciding that you are never to old to learn I believe that I have made one of the most important decisions of my life.
Although computer literate I would say that I am far from being an expert, however after analyzing your teaching methods I am more than confident that I can complete the course and change to a complete new career.
I feel that achieving 100% marks in both the foundation and TMA01 was more than I expected when taking on the course.
