I use Windows 2000 on a daily basis and I am finding this course extremely helpfull in making sure that I can not only maximise my own benefits of the Microsoft Windows systems but also for the people I support, making my job not only easier but also making me feel like I can constantly accomplish more and achieve even greater levels of professionalism in the support I offer. Thank you.

I WAS KIND OF LAZY WITH THE READING OF MY COURSE WORK BECAUSE I HAD NOT DRAWN AN ADEQUATE TIMETABLE FOR MYSELF. BUT WHEN I GOT A SAMPLE OF STUDY TIME TABLE SENT TO ME I GOT MOTIVATED AND IMMEDIATELY STARTED STUDYING AND SUBMITTING MY TMA. I'M HAPPY WITH THE A+ 2006 COURSE WORK.

In April of this year, I applied for a new job with a Local Council for the position of Supervisor in a CCTV control room. Although I already held qualifications in management of CCTV, I decided to include the fact that I was studying for 3 I.T. related qualifications in the application.

I was invited to an interview where I was able to show the course work I was currently studying and material on the next two courses. More importantly I was able to show them my TMA results, with 17 out of 21 being 100%. The Council are currently in the process of changing over from an analogue to fully digital system, utilising the latest in I.P network systems. Because of what I have learnt on the course, combined with prior knowledge of CCTV, I was successful in getting the job.

On my first day I met with the manager who stated that I was the first in for interview and set the benchmark for the rest, with no-one coming near. They attributed this to my present qualification in CCTV, but more importantly the training I am currently undertaking and the qualifications I will hopefully achieve in A+, N+ and MCSE. This, they felt, was of great use to them with the new system coming on-line in the next couple of months, with myself as the administrator. It also means I get valuable hands on training with the contractors, overseeing the installation of the system.

Although I have taken quite a big reduction in pay to get this job, I see it as a worth while investment in the long run. I now have more time to dedicate to studying, aswell as moving in to a job I wouldn't even have thought possible for at least another 1-2 years.

I've just sold my house, my girlfriend has sold hers and we haven't found anywhere to live yet after being let down on the house of our dreams.
We both study hard for our relevent quals, and the only time we have is late into the night. So I surprisingly surpassed myself having achieved 100% on 5 out of my 1st 8 TMA's, mostly revised during candelight hours. I'm sure the long nights and droopy eyes in the morning will all be worth it in the end. After all it was my choice to take this on........for better or worse! :)

I have started my course this month which is a huge achievement for me having been stagnant and unsure of my future direction for some time. I have completed the first two TMAs and got 100% and 97% respectively and have just submitted my third TMA. This is a massive achievement for me as I am so busy working and have also played several gigs with my band in the evenings and been rehearsing twice a week for an opera performance. I'm not actually sure how I've managed to fit studying in to all this but my personal determination has found a way and I have been rewarded with good results which have motivated me even further to suceed with my course.

During my time of Employment at PC Service Call, which is now renounced as 'The Tech Guys', I managed to gain excellent experience, confidence within myself and achievements on my own grounds which have proven to be of great help in motivating me to expand my knowledge in my skills and intrests i.e in resolving problems with desktop computers, laptops, hardware, software etc.
My job title was 'CPA' which stands for Customer Product Advisor. The products that I had to give advice and solutions over the phone for was desktop computers, laptops etc that were brought from either PC World, Dixons Group or Currys/Currys digital. I once undertook a call that lasted me for over an hour and a half. It was a customer that had a fair amount of knowledge about what a PC is and how to operate it(thank God for that). It was a case where one problem after another arose which can get REALLY annoying. I know for 100% if it was someone else that had taken that call, he/she would have given up after a very short while and have had the customer an engineer booked to come out and see to the problem, but I really took to it to make sure this call ends with a customer satisfactory telephone fix. I really enjoy giving advice, and helping others to resolve computer/laptop problems, and that is what motivated me to stick with the frustrated customer, also it is what's motivating me in doing this course today and to make use of/enhance my skills and knowledge. I, in my opinion, regard that as an achievement, because it actually made me realise what I am capable of and how far I can go with the potential I have, and how patient I can be because of the passion I have for what I know and would like to further. I look forward to give 100% in completing this course fully and grasp every bit of information I possibly can from the courses I am undertaking.

I remember when I started with scheidegger the person that came to enrolled me said did I have any knowledge of IT, I said no I don't. He then said to me am about to change my life. I didn't understand what he meant by that and when I started the course I have achieve a lot of it then I understand what he was trying to tell me.
I have got huge improvement with my study and with my TMA and significantly I haven't given up especially this difficult momment.
Last week I went to visit a friend of mine and why we were discussing a friend of his next door came and said to me that his PC is having a problem. And I ask him what was the problem and he told me that he installed a new device driver in his PC.When we went there I start the PC and a blue screen display this message stop error message. I restart the PC in a safe mode and disable the device that was causing the problem and reinstalled a signed device driver for him and the problem was solve he got his PC back to work.
I also have my friend next door that I am helping her to use PC and she is very happy for the knowlage that she is having. She can now use the internet and send e-mail to a friend as well.

I re-started the course in December on the 2006 course material, despite having to leave my job through illness I have since recovered and been spending a lot of time studying, my days now consist of dog walking and studying. I have managed to get to assignment 30 in which seems to me a short space of time. I was never very good at school and I am so pleased that I have found something I enjoy and interests me! thanks.

I have been doing the PA course for less than two months now and I wish that I had thought of this years ago. The course is hard, I work nights and also have a two year old daughter who can't understand why daddy needs to sleep during the day. Despite being a low income family we found the money to pay for it all, so that in the (hopefully not so distant) future, I will be able to repay their faith in me. At present just done TMA 03 and still averaging about 95% on my scores. He hoping what the future May bring.

As a student of skillstrain you don't really know what you made up of until you are confronted with challenges.
My first challenge was choosing a computer for my uncle and being responsible for maintaining and ensuring that the computer is in good condition, I almost refuse knowing as I am still a student not yet a certified pc specialist. The pc came with a security software installed in it, he wanted to replace the security software with another which I advice him not to do. Few days later he told me about an error message that keep popping up, it has not made him enjoyed using the pc. After a brief questioning he finally told me he removed the anti virus software that came with the pc which I warned him not to remove. The bad thing about this error message is that even when you click ok it appears within the next few seconds, but with the knowledge I gained from my course materials I was able to solve the problem even when the manufactures support department could not do any thing about it. So far I have been able to solve two more problems due to human fault on the pc. Ever since then I suddenly developed this confidence of carrying out maintenance on his pc and my brother's laptop. As PC specialist confidence is a must have , if you don't have it then its not there but with skillstrain you are assured .

One thing I must say I had some knowledge of networking and computing before starting this course. But after throughly studying the study material, my concepts are so clear now on this bases I have start working as Computer Network engineer and free lancer. Some times I need to work till late nights to fix the network problems. There are times I have worked for 14 hours a day to solve the problems related to severs and computers. At the same time, it is every important to continue study and submit TMAs time to time.
Actually all the hardwork pays off and I am continuously getting score above 90%. It was my dream to work as a network engineer, before starting this course, I was thinking that I haven't got enough confidence with my networking ability but now after just finishing half of the course, I am capable of working for myself which is amazing. I would like to say this is a significant achievement for me. I feel like I would continue to excel in the networking field.
