IT Training Courses Certification Reviews
Hi there, I thought I would share my achievements with you all as I am sure I couldn't have done it without Skills Train! It probably taken me longer than most because I've had to work full time throughout the training course, but even before passing my CCNA exam, just the fact that I had nearly finished it was enough to get a decent pay rise and start at a company called Wedgwood in Stoke-on-Trent. It is a well-established company and someone who I am proud to work for. They recognise that this Cisco qualification is well worth having and appreciate how much work needs to go in to it. A few weeks at Wedgwood and some more days of hard studying and I passed my CCNA exam without having to even start the final semester. I am very proud of my achievements so far and I am eager to now start my CCNP. The Network+ exam seems a distant memory but that was the stepping stone I needed. And today, I have been offered an interview for an even better Network Engineer job which is also in Stoke-on-Trent. I feel like things couldn't really get any better and I am now extremely motivated to continue my studies. I've never even had to phone up and hassle anyone at Skills Train! Lastly, thanks to everyone there for helping and keeping it running smoothly for me. All the best!
-Matt
In the last couple of months I have been under a lot of pressure with my full time job working nearly twelve hours a day, seven days a week but still manage to do and submit my assignments.when I started the course I knew just a little bit about IT, but has gained a lot of knowledge on the course so far through my dedicated study with the time available to me.

Over the past two months I have been studying very hard for promotion at work. One of my key tasks was to pass my A+ and N+ exams to help put a case forward for promotion. In December 2007 I passed both external exams to certify as an A+ IT Technician and now have the certificate on my wall at work. Then to make things even better I sat and passed my CompTIA N+ exam in February and am now awaiting that certificate to go alongside my A+ one. My manager has just said he is going to support my case for promotion and fingers crossed it will be made true these coming months. All of this is down to the course materials received from Skillstrain making the studying a lot easier with excellent course materials.
Thanks

Well for me July has been a real significant month. As for one I have dusted my Skills train resources and gotten back on my study saddle. I will confess to haven been complacent in the past few months and even contemplated cancelling my subscription to the skillstrain programme. Then it suddenly struck me that I joined this course to gain something, Knowledge. And more importantly Knowledge that was going to equip me with vital skills to further my potential.
Considering I am currently enrolled in a full-time Masters programme my adversity, left me mostly disgruntled and irritable. First my academic challenges, then work, then having to search and finally move house( with the right budget in mind). However in the midst of it all I never got around to making that fatal call to Skillstrain admin to say "I am pulling the plug", No! I kept up with my payments every 4th of the month and each passing payment kept my critical receptors constantly spinning, rationalising each payment and justifying it to my subconscious. Then it happened, my computer decided to give me a hand. It would intermittently fail to boot. I was frustrated and the thought of having to go to a technician meant costs, time and inconvenience. Luxuries I just could not afford. Then it hit me I picked up my PC HARDWARE AND MAITENANCE ESSENTIALS manual and I ran the trouble shoot and entered Control+Alt+ Delete . It turned out my power supply was faulty and was able to buy sometime until payday and purchased a better engineered one with the help of an in-store technician and installed it, I am proud to say, all by myself.
Any way the rest they say is detail, as I by that very "divine" encounter with my computer, have sorted my second and third TMAs all in one month: Incredible. I hoping to have two more done in the next two weeks. To think I came this close to loosing it all. Like the saying goes, you never know what you have till you loose it. For me it is you never know what you have till you need it. I am fired up more than ever and I guess all the persistence and keeping faith with my hunches to sign on to the course in the first place, paid off.

I have just passed the final exam (70-291) for my MCSA Certification, with a score or 889, which I believe is pretty good. Over the past 12 months I have taken and passed first time my A+, N+, and all three MCSA exams, but I am entering this month due to the completion of the certification and my score.

I have improved in my academic performance dramatically. I started of with difficulties but now I have been achieving high results including 100% for my part A revision on the Security part of my course. I have been studying hard and this means that I am able to apply my computer security skills in my job (which requires applying quality assurance). Thank you.

After getting 90% on my first test I feel that I have studied very hard to get to that level. I have also been explaining small amounts to my partner and she has started to also get a understanding with the basics.

I HAVE ACHIEVED A LOT FROM THIS COURSE AND THIS INCLUDES BUT NOT LIMITED TO INCREASE IN TIME MANAGEMENT. I HAVE LEARNT A LOT ABOUT COMPUTERS AND I HAVE ALSO PUT IT INTO PRACTISE WITH MY LAPTOP AND SOMEONE ELSE'S AND THIS HAS ENABLED ME TO GAIN A VALUABLE EXPERIENCE AND INCREASE KNOWLEDGE.

The last time I sat for an exam/test/assignment was ages ago and was really sceptical about doing this programme. I actually told my wife that I intended to cancel this programme before my account gets debited but she was able to talk some sense into me. I have just received my result for the 1st assignment and that has motivated me to pursue the programme.

It has not been easy for me picking up my course materials to study, couple with the fact of the nature of my job and two boys who are on break from school,I have put in much effort in studying the and submitting the TMA1 and was really pleased when I saw the report, though its not easy but its getting interesting as well.

"I am loving it". I work for city links, I use to pack the cages with packages for other citys and towns. Now I am working with their "CLAN" finding address, confirming delivers, and keeping track of parcels through hand held computers.

I was finally able to complete and submitted my second TMA, despite of not getting enough sleep since I've got a 7 month old baby who gets up at least twice during the night for her feed and to play. I also have a 9 years old who I have to find activities for since she is out of school. I'm hoping to submit assignments 3 and 4 also in this month.

Have been working really hard on my assignments whilst working in a job and have been doing one section a day, and am getting high marks on the work I have done so far, have fixed friends computers, been teaching my dad how to use a computer and feel I have learnt lots of new things and look forward to the next part of the course.
-Gianni
Still on course but have acquired appreciable knowledge through my CCNA course
-Charles
I have had to move house, changed jobs and all these unsettled me, but I still remain determined to go ahead with my course. It is always on my mind daily.

Got 100% in first tutor marked assignment plan on sending in an assignment every week. Also did a ten week mentoring course in 4 days and passed that course as well.

This month so far I've achieved the goal of finishing my first part of course and submitted 6 TMA's, this is a massive achievement for me because I work shifts and find it difficult to sometimes settle after work and get any work done on this course material. I'm happy I've managed to do this, and I find it satisfying to have done so much I know I can do it when I put my mind to it.
I hope to be able to do the same for the next part of my course at least.

I can't believe the incredible results of my last revision supplement of my TMA19A at section 1. When I received the question and read through, I tell myself waoo, some of them were though. But I did my best to convince my Tutor Team that I'm determined to be a PC Hardware Engineer as soon as possible. At last when I received the result it was amazing. Thanks for your support.
-George
I believe after the achievement of finishing 7 TMA's and passing them all and submitting an 8th is massive for me, I have been working many night shifts and have still managed to study in between and I have pressed hard to complete as much as possible in the month of August and I will try just as hard for the month of September.
-Warren
Hi I would like to express my Gratitude to the our team from Skills Train as when I was doing my TMA assignments I was having a few problems on certain parts of the course, I submitted one of my assignments which I received a low mark for, which was helpful for me because I had the Opportunity to revise and ask a few people on helping me understand and with the feedback I had from my tutor I was able to submit the same assignment up to a better mark after 3 attempts which I can only say is an improvement and since then I have been studying harder to try to achieve my goal. I got a 100% on my last assignment which I have only ever received once before I know I am leading in the right direction I just hope that with help of my tutor and other people I can achieve better marks through the rest of my learning program.
-Marc
Its so hard Working and studying and I have fallen behind in my course a lot. which is sad because I have a target goal for completing it. My achievements for this month is trying to find as much time as possible to study and catch up, how do I do it?, I have access to a computer at work and I use my lunch and break to access course materials online and study in the little time periods that I get. I think if I continue to do this I will catch up on lost time.
-Michael
I BELIEVE I HAVE STARTED THIS COURSE ON A POSITIVE NOTE WHERE I HAVE COMPLETED 5 ASSIGNMENTS AND PASSING EACH ONE WEEK AFTER WEEK. HOPEFULLY I CAN CARRY THIS ON WEEK IN WEEK OUT UNTIL I'VE COMPLETED THE WHOLE OF A+ SECTION
