I started my course about 4 months ago just 1.5 months after I arrived in England. I am 16 years old and I am currently in my final year at school. it is quiet difficult to cope with all course works at school and do additional learning at home, but I do my best as I am really interested in what am I doing. This course has improved my English and computer knowledge dramatically! I have achieved very good results with my TMAs. At the moment I am finishing my first book and I already help to solve some simple network problems at school sometimes. I understand far more now about the Internet, hoe it works, different protocols, etc. and I want to know more. I will work hard to complete all my rest books and get the best results as I can. Thank you very much!

Recently got promoted to a Manager's Position in a Call Centre where I work. With very tight schedule and long working hours and all the responsibility of Staff, etc. I have still managed to keep my studies going and wish to do further studies when I finish this course. Also, another personal achievement is that my wife gave me a news that I will be a father very soon !!

I can still remember how hard it was for me to get my foot in to the world of IT. That all changed just after a month that I booked a course in MCSA with SkillsTrain. For the employers to see that I am currently training for the MCSA, I have been offered a job in 1st line IT Support and that was without a single day of work experience in the field of IT. I have been working for the DCSA DISD CIS(S) at HMNB in Portsmouth and on a long term contract (the only sad thing is I am working via an employment agency but the fact that I was selected from quite a few applicants at the time is good enough for me). I am enjoying every single day at work and the unexplainable feeling when I get some customer feedbacks is really something. At the moment, I am also training to sit for the MCDST which I might do long before I finish my MCSA course. I am currently working on 30 hours a day (work + MCSA studies + MCDST studies + family + house work) and is surviving with the help of berroca and red bull. I am keeping myself motivated by thinking that tomorrow will always be another day and that all these hard work will give me something solid in the near future.

Even getting on this course but also getting 98% on my TMA as when I was a kid I got told I would never work or do anything with my life as I had brain damage and went to special schools. So to get this far n life means so much and to get this chance to do this course is great.

I just wanted to say that I really find it hard to find time to study after my work.
I am working as a care assistant and it involves physical hardwork and stress through the whole day. I still found time to study and very successfully completed my two parts of TMA with really high score. 95% and 98% and I submitted my third one today.

And I feel really proud of myself, and I learned a lot of new information on Windows 2000. I hope I can take the exam soon.

During January I have managed to complete 5 TMAs for my course, while I have been juggling with a new job which is 12 hour days (6-6) on a rotating shift basis (including weekends). I have also been helping my fiancee's eldest daughter with her maths for school (has anyone seen the way they have to do it now?).
On top of this, my ex-wife has told me that my 2 daughters no longer want to see me, as I was unable to see them one weekend due to the hours of my new job, so it looks like I am now going to have legal bills pending for an access case.
Despite this I still made sure I carried on with my course, as I am looking at the bigger picture and know the qualifications I gain (N+ and CCNA) will lead to a better life for my family and myself.

Going back a couple of months ago I was offered a job with Star Internet working in a NOC however come this new year it didn't happen and they couldn't be bothered to reply to my emails, This of course has been a knock to my confidence with the thought of having to throw bags at the local airport for longer than I hoped, However after a holiday I threw myself back into my books revising for my final TMA on the N+ Course, this in turn has rebuilt my confidence back up and gets me through the days I have to do my current job.
It has also prompted me to carry on pursuing my dream job and instilled faith in me making a decision to pursue my career via skillstrain.

To be a Family man and Student at the same time is hard. Ialmost thought of giving up the course following the loss of my wife's job in NHS England and had to relocate to Scotland. Within a month when I am thinking things are about to settle down, my wife had a miscarriage and I had to concentrate in nursing her and taking care of my daughter whilst at the same time I had to sit for my MSc Exams in Computer Security & Auditing and submit assignments and CISCO need to be done...!! I have passed assignments and I am now back on track with CISCO......I am very Happy. I have also got a job to help a blind student to do his MSc Dessertation....!!!!

I have just recently started to study again after many year. I have a 7 month old baby and I work almost 7 days a week and I found it hard at first.
I decided to set myself a target to how much I would study in the first week I set my self a target of 1 hour a day as I did not have the time.
As time went on I kept setting myself targets but did not meet them until recently.
This month I am proud to say that I have met all the targets I set myself and I now study around 3 hours a day it was hard at first and it took a while for me to get where I am today being busy with the baby and work. I feel I have achieved a great deal this month and I actually look forward to comming home from work and sitting down and I enjoy the 3 hours of learning every day.
If anybody ever tells you that you cant do anything in life they are wrong and I am glad to say that people who said to me that studying would be a waste of time and cost to much I can now prove them wrong as I am really achieving something that I never though I would do it took lots of hard work and patients but I finally got there
Thanks

After having a motorcycle accident in April '06 I am unlikely to be able to resume my old job as a storeman. So in November I started with Skilstrain to try to retrain for an IT job. I started on the A+2003 syllabus and did the first 5 assignments (scoring average 92%) but then switched to the 2006 syllabus. After a slow period over christmas I have picked up the pace and done the first 10 assignments on the new syllabus (average 100%). I am enjoying the course immensely and learning new stuff everyday about the same computers I've been using for ages (but not able to maintain properly until now).

For a few years I had be toying with the idea of studying for formal IT qualifications but kept putting it off. Finally I took the plunge and booked the A+, N+ and MCSE course. Having owned a computer from the early days of ZX81's and Spectrums, I have always had an interest in how they work and thougt I had a good understanding of them.

Little did I know just how much more involved PC's can be and what needs to be learnt in order to do my chosen career path. Although I am only part way in to the course, I find I have already learnt a lot more than what I expected. In order that I didn't mess up my computer trying the different things I was learning, I decided to buy a job lot of used pc's and spares from Ebay.

With over 600 different parts available I am now able to learn what each component does, the different types and how to test with hands on experience. This has only been possible by having the spares to use. I would strongly recommend to anyone, that if they can, do what I have done and buy yourself some spares to practice on. Like me, you will then be able to achieve more in your training and gain a lot more from the excellent training provided by Skillstrain.

Thanks to this course, during this month I have managed to rebuild three friends computers to working order as well as an older one for my self, despite knowing nothing about computers when I left school. Last week I had my car stolen and even with sorting out insurance and trying to find another car I have still managed to keep reletively on time with all of my course work.

I am a father of 3 and recently immigratted in the UK. I work 12-17 hours a day and 5-6 days a week to meet the household expenditur as well as 3 children education hence I have little or no time to study my course materials so I have to study during my holidays and break times. Since the English language is not my mother language hence I have to repeat some sentences several times to understand them. Any way I am happy because I have achieved full marks for few times and avarage is 90+. Because of time factor I have far behind the schedule so I often thinking of give up but I am still hanging and hopping achieve my MCSA/MCSE dream. I found the Skill Trains course materials are very useful and presented in simple form to understand easily and good way of motivation to the tutor and students.

Whenever I achieve MCSA/MCSE I am sure I am going to take CISCO SYSTEM and WEBDESIGNING course as my second dream.

Thanking you for taking it for considerations and your motivation.

Eversince I started this course I have managed to build my own computer which I have managed to Windows XP OS and its faster computer than the one I bought in town when I started the course. The other thing I am happy with is being able to do hexadecimal conversions which I didn't know.I am very excited with the level I have reached now, where everything about OS and BIOS is being unvailed

I started the cisco course in summer 2005 but had a lot of time spent working away and doing nothing with the course. It was only when I was told I get payed that I woke up. I enjoy using computers and love a challenge, reason I'm up to go the full track with this course. I as askd if it was money that made me want to do that little bit more but I can honestly say no. I just want to acheive that little bit more and if the better job comes along I can say I earned it. and I hope everyone that does the courses offered on the skillstrain gets up and goes with it. please don't think my job will do it if it doesn 't.

First of all I want to say that since I started this course Last year I found it very interesting from day to day because it makes me very busy anb gives me the will to search and increase my knowledge in IT and I every time I submit an assignement and get the successfull result in pushs me more to work harder and with self confidence, evn if I always come back very tired from work but I still find the energy to study. Two week ago a freind of mine called because he bought a new PC but he didn't know how to use it and how to install some programs and to organise his files and desk top so I did help him and I was very happy because it was a agood practise for me and gave me a self confident to practice what I gained from the course.
