By studying with skillstrain, I have achieved so much already. It has given me more personal confidence that I can do things. I have better IT skills, and at work now I am helping out and teaching my manager to use her laptop and set forms and other items needed for the office. By learning these skills I now have more confidence and scope to get out and change my career in life. At the moment I am a career with long working hours with low pay. I want to get away from this and get a career in IT and web design.

My achievement is running my own business as a sole trader gardener and still being able to get through the course without falling behind, I think I have done quite well because at times I have been very busy during the seasons with laying lawns cutting hedges and trees getting home very tired at times, then studying with my course work and having to plan for my customers needs as well I.e. plants where to put them and garden designing. I found the course at times hard but not too difficult especially when tired. But I still got through it now I'm doing the practice exam to see how I will get on.

I have recently come back to the course after a long break recovering from personal illness, moving house, and job hunting. I have come back to the course with a brand new outlook and a clearer look at what I need to achieve to better my job prospects in the future.

Returning to the course is inspiring me to work harder on website ideas for a page intended to promote my novel and I'm already laying out a plan to do this myself rather than paying for a professional designer. This means that the site will be far more personal to me and the novel, and of course, it will save me a bucket load of money!

All important things in the current economic climate!

Before my CCNA course, I had little or no knowledge of pc repairs but, last 3 months I was able to help my sister-in-law fix her dell netbook. The pc was riddled by viruses, malware and spyware. The pc wasn't accepting any command if started normally. I tried the safe mode and also tried downloading a free version of Kaspersky anti-virus but it didn't work. I downloaded from my pc to a memory stick, run it on her netbook severally but it was still giving negative response.

Finally, I decided to copy her files to an external storage which I could do only through safe mode and restored the netbook back to its original state. The process of that destructive method was a bit bumpy for me but, I was happy at the end. I can't believe what I have acquired so far half way through my course.

Thanks.
