I feel that I have made many achievements throughout this course. I am a full time mum of 2 year old twin girls with one on the way. Looking after my children is obviously my first priority however, I still manage to study a few hours a night if not every other night. Having children has made me even more determined to do my best throughout the course as it will enable me to better their lives by being able to earn a good wage. Out of 16 tests I have passed 6 tests with 100% and I feel proud of this accomplishment. None of this would be possible without the help and support of my tutors or the love and support of my family. I don't expect to win this however I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has made it possible for someone in my position to further their education and to gain better prospects for a career.

I am 31 years old, father of three children and husband of a loving wife. I am full time employed, I do at least eight hours a day five days a week including early mornings and late nights - really demanding. My children are happy and noisy (and my wife). It is not easy to keep up with the study time-table I have created myself because I literally do not have time to study during the day. Every day when the kids are in bed, everything has calmed down I just want to sit down, watch TV or chill out...I don't. I take my study material and start the second half of my day. My mother tongue is Hungarian so I have to pay extra attention to every word that I read to be able learn everything properly. Usually I stay up late night or wake up early when my family is sleeping. I am very serious about being as successful as possible in my new career. Since I have started the course I gave up smoking, changed to a healthier lifestyle including exercises, diet, etc.. My first TMA results were 95-100%. I think these are great achievments over a short period of time and I believe it will remain the same in the future just to show how thankful I am for the chance I was given by Skillstrain.

I have worked so hard for the past 6months to get where iam now,and with the dead line for the 2003 objectives for the a+ around the corner I am well prepared to take the exams within the next 2 months as I have finished the a+ course with results averaging 80% and above, after I complete my n+ by the end of 2007 I want to proceed to doing the cisco qualifications or the mcsa/mcse with skillstrain as I have the advantage of controlling my life and study when I am free without affecting my work life, but I have learnt a lot and cant wait to passing my exams and getting a better job as working in a chicken factory aint getting me nowhere.

I would also like to thank all the tutors for the help they offered me and in making sure that all problematic areas where made simple thank you for everything

I consider myself lucky doing an A+/N+ course with Skillstrain. This is because it is convinient and very well organised or should I say well structured?
I have a teenage girl and a ten year old boy who all depend on my assistance with their work. It has not been easy having to be there for them, having to go to work to sustain other needs, having to support my husband who is on fulltime studies at the university and HAVING TO STUDY MYSELF.

I must admit that being in this course has positively challenged me towards being more organised.I have learnt more of how to set my goals and targets.
I recently started N+ and all is going very well.

Hi I wanted to start off by saying that I got off to a shaky start from the course. When I started on my foundation I got a fair few answers wrong but I learnt from the mistakes and pressed on. I was shocked, by the time I finished the first book in January my average score was 96.5%! I was amazed that the teachings from the course stayed so fresh in my head. As I continued into February my first test back showed another decline in quality. But I wasn't going to let that happen again and trough study pulled it back to the mark I was previously achieving. I guess I have problems with starting new things but I'm looking forward to maintaining my mark. More amazingly I am helping out friends and family with problems I recognise from the course. It's already proving handy. I even diagnosed and made a hardware repair and the computer works better than it used to. A graphics card had over heated and damaged itself so I researched all I could and bought the new card and it works great. Such acts were very rewarding to myself and have given me a bigger urge to get into a job in PC Hardware. I know IT recruiters are looking for this qualification and I can defiantly see why now, Thank you Skills Train you put me on a career path I can't wait to start!

Hi
I would just like to to say that the CompTIA A+ course has been a lifeline for me, having suffered a nervous breakdown 2 years ago I had lost all my confidence and self esteem
I find since starting the course I am not only learning a new skill but I am also able to regain my confidence, set goals and targets for myself both for the course and in my every day life.
Having come from an transport enginnering managment background all of my working life . I now find at 47 years old I am discovering myself again thanks to this course and feel that is reflected not only in my course results but is reflecting on my whole life this is what I think has been my achievement.

I am currently taking my G.C.S.E's at school and have to cope with gcse coursework as well as my skillstrain tutor marked assignments. I have recently taken my Gcse mocks at school and have achieved my targets or above. revising as well as doing my tutor marked assignmets was difficult to cope with and im sure it will pay off.

In the last month I have achieved more than I expected from myself. I succeeded to submit 5 five TMAs. Before starting the course I thought I knew a lot about computers, and that this course will be easy to complete with no or little efforts. As I was going through the units I have realized how much I don't know. I have learned how to respect older legacy technology and that I have to make at least the same effort when learning about these things as the one who created them made when creating them years ago. These are great things and I am happy that I achieved my goals for this month.

I have had fairly practical knowledge about pc hardware through personal experiences. Practical knowledge was not enough when it comes to understanding of the pc behavior.

This course has helped me to fill gaps and increase my understanding of hardware. This gave me the currage to build PCs and help others with there problem. All of my friends now turn to me when its comes to computer problems.

I am glad I was able help them and at the same time explain them the reasons for cause of that problem.

I am now thinking of running PC Support and installation service as part-time job.

I am now looking forward to learn about Operating systems, especially about Windows Xp and new Vista if possible in part C of my course.

I think I have achieved the results that I studied for its been hard work as I have had alot to cope with this last year, an this has been something to keep me positive, an the only thing I can think of is to make people proud of me also to have a career behind me which I've never had, I cant say I deserve this more than anyone else because everyone's probably worked just as hard but I am learning alot and really enjoying the course even help my dad set up the internet on his laptop then connect a wireless router, I just hope I can carry on learning as much as I have and score good marks in my exam when I take!!!

No easy road to success I know, when I started doing my A+ cert in h/ware I thought I couldn't do it , thinking about the fact that I have left school for about 15 years ago, got two kids who always call for my attention and lot of family pressure.
Relunctatly I gave it a go, and so far it been nothing but good, and now looking forward to a new whole life ahead of me and it's given me more confidence within my self.

I think that the only Achievements I have personally managed, is that on some of my assignments I had reached 100%, for some this May sound trivial, but to me it gave a confidence boost in knowing that if I put my mind to it I should be able to achieve my goal's. My aim is to obtain a better job, with prospects, and to provide for my family, and their future.

Just passed my A+ hardcore exam.1st time.I had no idea of the exam layout and thought that it would be easy.I soon changed my mind and started to get a cold sweat at the thought of losing my exam fee if I failed.
Not to mention the clock running down in the corner adding extra pressure.
Sit my OS exam next week hope it goes well.

In April 2006 I was diagnosed with lung cancer after many visits to doctors and hospitals.I had been complaining of a pain in my back for several months but nobody could pin it down, naturaly I was devastated, after all I was complaining about my back not my chest.I went into hospital in May of the same year where they removed one of my lungs (along with the tumor).Unfortunately it transpired that the cancer had spread to my spine and they daren't operate on it for fear of leaving me paralized.I then had to start Radiotherapy treatment on my spine to try and reduce the tumor there. This has been relatively succesful, but obviously it is always on my mind. When the doctors told me I would not be able to carry on working,I thought that I May as well curl up and die. When you have been as active as I was it's not easy to give it all up,even at my age, 60 years young. That was when I saw an advert for Skillstrain.I knew very little about computers much less on how they worked, but I thought "WHY NOT".I arranged an interview with one of there representatives and HERE I AM.I started studying the course and found it very difficult at first, after all,it's been a long time since my school years.A couple of times I thought about giving up thinking "what's the point" but thanks mainly to my wife and a couple of close friends,I stuck at it.They have given me the support and encouragement I needed, through all the bad times(and a few good ones).I have surpassed all my expectations as my marks reflect. To get reasonable marks would have been an achievment for me,but I am reaching marks of 100% on a regular basis.I can now hold my head up and say "I CAN DO IT".At the onset I didn't envisage taking the exam, but that is now very much a part of my plans.Don't ever let anybody tell you it can't be done, because I have proved,at least to myself, that it can.It has been a very difficult couple of years for myself and my wife, but I can go on knowing that nothing is impossible,it just takes a bit of working at.Maybe some of the other students May read this and take heart from it.REMEMBER,NOTHING COMES EASY,you have to work for it.

All that I knew was how to turn it on and if there was a problem I would have to look around for some help now I am able to understand a lot more and when I read about computers I dont have to skip the jargon, I am and will get there

I started this course in August 2006, I was not sure I would be able to keep up with the course and also achieve a reasonable result.

The reason for this being that due to my Job as a Goods in Warehouse operative I had to travel 58 miles a day and work up to 14 hours a day.
Also I am a carer for my Girlfriend who suffers from Ankylosing Spondylitis, which is a very painful deabilitating arthritis of the spine and it can also affect other joints.

Even though I have all of these issues to over come including reacently changing my job so I am closer to home I achieved on most TMA's 90 to a 100%, with a few exceptions being between 80 and 90%.

Hopefully once I have completed my course I am able to find a job which I will fully enjoy.
