I use Windows 2000 on a daily basis and I am finding this course extremely helpfull in making sure that I can not only maximise my own benefits of the Microsoft Windows systems but also for the people I support, making my job not only easier but also making me feel like I can constantly accomplish more and achieve even greater levels of professionalism in the support I offer. Thank you.

I have just had the worst news of all, the hospital put a camera down my throat and found a lump in my stomach which is cancer, this means that I have to go in to have it removed, they have said it is a straight forward operation but I have given enough blood to make my arms look like a dartboard, this on top of my back operations is enough to put anyone over the edge, but instead I have decided that I am going to move to the coast. Me and my wife went down yesterday and looked at 3 houses and I also made a visit to the job center and spoke to a lady in the center and inquired about work and to my amazement when I pass my A+ and N+ she said there is a load of jobs open to me and within 2 1/2 miles there was 5 computer shops and one of them said to come in for an interview when I am qualified, this has gave me the push I needed to complete the courses I am studying, this opportunity is down to skillstrain giving me the qualifications needed to better my life and my families, and I can take the dog for a walk on the coast, what a life to look forward to.

I have just completed, successfully, the A+ content of my couse and have applied to take the public exam. At the age of 55 and having suffered 3 strokes, it has, to say the least been a challenge. It has, however, been very rewarding. I have become a volunteer home visitor for the RNIB, helping clients with their computer problems, at the same time gaining what I hope is invaluable practical experience.

July of 2006, I arrived in the UK. Coming from a mining background and considering the fact that mining is almost non-existent in England, I wondered what job/course I would undertake to match with my mining skills. Meanwhile, I was later to find a part-time job in a Food Factory and this would help me pay towards my course.

One morning, I received several mails in my mailbox and among them was a leaflet from SKILLSTRAIN, listing a host of IT courses. I was attracted and wanted to know more and with a little hesitance, I called Skillstrain and a meeting with one of their Course Advisor was arranged. The meeting emerged to be fruitful and I was going to register for the CIW Website Design Manager Course.

I begun my CIW Section 1 - Part A course with low marks on my first TMA and finished with a sounding 100% pass mark. I am currently studying Section 1 - Part B. It has not been easy though but I have developed belief in myself in what am currently studying. My performance could only be attributed to the good format which Skillstrain has laid out its unique training program which I find so helpful. More important the staff are always ready to help students get as much as possible out of their course and have a sense of urgency that can be seen in their prompt response to queries.

In my opinion, the unique training program for Skillstrain provides,
a) Material content on what-to-do
b) Supplies a method on how-to-do it and
c) Meets the "acid test" that is, seeing students get excellent results.

That to me is outstanding!
There is nothing in my life that gives me more satisfaction than knowing that am surrounded by experienced Skillstrain Tutors who are willing to see me accomplish my course. It is just fun to feel myself growing more confident day by day.

Hats off to Skillstrain!!

This month I can say I finaly refined my study technique-routine, which gives me high results (100% or 93%) and I can keep my speed that I want for submitting TMAs. It was very hard for me to achieve it before as I was moving over (3 times in half a year!) sometimes having no Internet connection at home and using it at friend's or in the library. This was not easy either as I have to 'fight' over computer with my little angel-devil (which is my 13-month-old daughter) as she already knows where to insert CD and where - USB flash memory device, finishing her 'experiments' with 'palm' combination, which makes computer do all sorts, leaving me to troubleshout it. I think my biggest achievement this month is stability of the studying process that leads to good results despite of working full-time and being single parent at the same time. I keep up with my schedule and submit TMAs on time as I planed (1 TMA every week). I use every free minute I have for studying - on the bus, waiting for something, etc. I simply enjoy it very much - the course, the process of studying and experimenting with new techniques to learn and to remember.

Since I started the Skill train course, I have successfully managed to complete Comptia Net+ course and Examination, although I have been under lot of pressure in my normal work with dead line to meet and taking site visit. At moment I am now also working toward ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualification Board) foundation examination and carrying on with my CCNA course. Hence for me it is all the way up hill doing my normal work and keeping my course work on target and learning new things.

I started Network+ with Skills Train and I have had tremendous result. I did not know anything about N+, but now I can design network infrastructure, connect more than 50 PC to communicate with each other. I can configure RAP and many more network Protocols. Thanks to the Skillful trained Tutors of the Skills Train. I am now on the CCNA course with the SKILLS TRAIN.

I have found it hard to find the time to fit my learning in, but am pleased with my results so far and have found if you make the effort and time you can see the results for yourself.

I decided to enrol on a computer course shortly after the birth of my son. I made a decision to stay at home until he is ready to start school, and felt that now was a time to make a complete career change. The man who came round suggested that I stretch myself and go for the A+/N+/CCNA course. I have now nearly completed section 1 of A+, and have found it to be very rewarding when you get good results back from your TMA on a subject that you knew nothing about just a few days before!! It is of course very hard work especially as I have two children and have to wait until they have gone to bed before I can start my studying, but I know that it will be worth it when I finally get qualified, and these courses are designed to fit around any circumstances.

Over a year ago, I broke my leg while doing an IT course in college. It didn't allow me to work, study or take up physical activities. I was doing computer basics and had full motivation to continue with the best possible results. It didn't happen all because of a blown light bulb.

I returned back to college a few weeks later and finished what I had started, but it wasn't enough. I realised I had to get somewhere to increase my prospects of being successful. I recieved a call and took on this course as I was sure the flexibility would allow me to receive both money and knowledge at the same time.

A few weeks ago, I spent a whole week calling up companies who would want to recruit an IT trainee. I called up an IT company and explained to them the course I'm doing and what I was Looking for. I was told to send my CV in and am now working as a trainee technician. If I had not taken up this course, I would still be cold-calling in a dull place. Still, all my thanks go to Skills Train as I would not be where I am today if it weren't for these people. I can only hope the path that lies before me can be similarly followed if someone were to be in the same position. Thank you to the people who gave me opportunities and opened doors for me.

I WAS KIND OF LAZY WITH THE READING OF MY COURSE WORK BECAUSE I HAD NOT DRAWN AN ADEQUATE TIMETABLE FOR MYSELF. BUT WHEN I GOT A SAMPLE OF STUDY TIME TABLE SENT TO ME I GOT MOTIVATED AND IMMEDIATELY STARTED STUDYING AND SUBMITTING MY TMA. I'M HAPPY WITH THE A+ 2006 COURSE WORK.

In April of this year, I applied for a new job with a Local Council for the position of Supervisor in a CCTV control room. Although I already held qualifications in management of CCTV, I decided to include the fact that I was studying for 3 I.T. related qualifications in the application.

I was invited to an interview where I was able to show the course work I was currently studying and material on the next two courses. More importantly I was able to show them my TMA results, with 17 out of 21 being 100%. The Council are currently in the process of changing over from an analogue to fully digital system, utilising the latest in I.P network systems. Because of what I have learnt on the course, combined with prior knowledge of CCTV, I was successful in getting the job.

On my first day I met with the manager who stated that I was the first in for interview and set the benchmark for the rest, with no-one coming near. They attributed this to my present qualification in CCTV, but more importantly the training I am currently undertaking and the qualifications I will hopefully achieve in A+, N+ and MCSE. This, they felt, was of great use to them with the new system coming on-line in the next couple of months, with myself as the administrator. It also means I get valuable hands on training with the contractors, overseeing the installation of the system.

Although I have taken quite a big reduction in pay to get this job, I see it as a worth while investment in the long run. I now have more time to dedicate to studying, aswell as moving in to a job I wouldn't even have thought possible for at least another 1-2 years.

I passed my A+ today. It was my first exam since leaving school 23 years ago. Although I revised like a mad man using study guides the OS exam was squeaky bum time. I would recommend that anyone taking the exam revises from the skillstrains course materials rather than cropped study guides.
