IT Training Courses Certification Reviews
Being a nurse and my fascination to technology seemed not a good mix, especially to my friends at work. After reading and finishing my first assignment, one of the trouble shooting model (Comp TIA's A+) really struck me by it's logical approach. Mind you, I applied this when I was oncall attending to a patient who was having a heart attack. Of course I asked the patient what he was feeling, and identified chest pain and shortness of breath as the immediate problem, we confirmed that the chances are he really having heart attack. Medicines and equipments for possible angiography were readied before the consultant arrived. The patient was confirmed having a heart attack after angiography and the blockage of his heart was removed. The procedure just lasted 20 minutes which could have normally lasted 45 minutes or more, because of early preparation with the aid of logical application of problem solving technique. It was really a very smooth procedure compared to an emergency scene I see everyday when you know what's happening, you know what's causing it to happen, and you know how to stop it from happening.

I work very hard in achieving my marks which I am always pleased with. I am aiming to start up my own business by practising simple repairs on families and friends pcs with the knowledge I have achieved so far with Skill-train.

I AM CURRENTLY A CHEF WORKING 12 HRS A DAY AND STILL BE ABLE TO CARRY ON WITH MY COURSE, I KNEW NOTHING ABOUT HOW A PC ACTUALLY WORKED WITH ALL THE DIFFERENT ASCII AND BINARY DIGITS, NOW I HAVE A FAIRLY GOOD IDEA WHAT GOES INTO A PC.

I retired from work a few years ago due to ill-health (physical ill health that is), resulting in me now having only my left hand functioning normally, in correctable double vision; the right side of my body severely disabled, an in receipt of a DLA award. I have had computing keyboard experience while at work, and privately studied with Computeach. The increasing demand from both areas leading up to a stressful state which brought about my early retirement.
Undeterred by all of this, I know I had (and still have), a flair for computing, and the ability to focus on it with interest; so, having more time than before, as I am not as able bodied as I would like to be, or as many others are, I am now using the only faculty left within me that functions normally, to pursue I now, an very worthwhile interest. The future of it...who knows!

I recently split from my partner, and consequently have had to change my job so that I can afford to keep my home. My new job requires I work 12 hour rotating day and night shifts. I really wasn't sure whether I would be able to cope holding the job down and continuing with my course, but despite the odds... I am just about to do my 7th TMA... fingers crossed.

Before I enrolled, I was working as a youth worker, struggling to make ends meet, struggling to feed my family, constantly looking in the evening mail to get a well paid job. Due to the fact that I work, work and work and make hardly anything. I rang around a few companies I came across to enroll on a CIW course because I had some knowledge of HTML and knew how to make standard websites. I had a little dreamweaver knowledge and thought enrolling on the CIW Website Design Manager would be great to further my knowledge and hopefully progress me onto a better career. Than I saw it... an advertisement for skillstrain. After speaking to an advisor, I was stunned to see and be told how affordable the price was... Brilliant I thought. Enrolled on the course and now after a month, I've reached Section 1, Part B and have handed in 7 TMA's. Gaining an average 96% in my TMA's. I haven't reached the stage of using dreamweaver or being taught it, that's all done in Section 4, Part B but I use it to do websites on a regular basis. I've even been asked by various organisations to do websites for them and now that I know how to incorparate java,I know how to use frames and use fireworks to do image maps and graphic design, logo's and banners for websites. Now I can make a professional looking website for business organistions and consumers.
At the moment, I'm working on a online shop for a friend of mine, who will be selling laptops, mobile phones and other electrical equipment as part of his company. Taking payment via credit card, debit card and pay pal and dispatching goods to the buyer after purchase.
The only time I'm happy is when I'm doing my course and all this is possible thanks to skillstrain and there team of tutors, I can now further my knowledge and be taught more and gain a great qualification, which will lead me onto a better career for an affordable price.

I am not only working harder but also securing excellent scores in TMAs in my CIW course. I have set a predetermined goal in this course that is: after successful completion of the prescribed course I will become a professional practical tutor in web designing, I will register an e-business and start delivering quality efficient services to valued customers, I will leave a good image from my e-business. For this I really need to go into deeper in CIW course, which I am getting in from different sources; tutor, websites, student world, success stories, reading materials and so and so forth. I presume that my dearest tutors will provide me as many feedback as possible timely, in fact, which I am experiencing.

I am a full time employer, working in a fashion industry is the busiest environment you could ever think of. Little did I know about computers when I started the course but I am proud to say that with so much dedication and determination I have done really well with my first two TMA's. My course book seems easier to understand now, compared to the first day I opened it. It looked so complicated.

This is the first time I have entered for the student of the month, I though it May be a good idea now I have completed 10 assignements. I gave up my full time career 2years ago because my wife is disabled and we have three young children and me going out to work for 10-12 hours wasn't working for us, my health was suffering and the family was too, it is a full time job being the primary carer in the house, let alone studying through the course, my days are long early start and late to bed, plus, 4 out of 7 nights can be mainly sleepless due to the disability in the family. I was very unsure how I would cope with the course, I spend alot of time up and down from study being called upon which can be very difficult for concentrating, however I really suprised myself by getting an average mark of around 94%, I am looking forward with anticipation to taking the foundation exam in the very near future.

I have done MCSA from this college and I am on the end phase of CIW, with the technique you have, I have learned so much in life and I am planning to stay with this college. I will be taking the Java or oracle course that you do. I have now got used to this method of learning. I work full time in a local supermarket but I am still able to learn new skills in the I.T world due to skillstrain-online. Thanks to skillstrain-online.

Since attending the learning styles live training sessions, I feel that I have learnt more and I am understanding things more due to writting more notes and creating record cards which outlines each syntax which helps me to remeber them. Hopefully this will show in my results which I feel are very high all the time.

I have always wanted to have a career in IT and skills train has been a life saver I never thought I could do it I just didn't know where to start from but now I'm in full control of what I really want to be and enjoy doing in life. Skills train friendly staff and tutors have helped me a lot to be able to be the person I am and realise my abilities they told me I could do it and they promised to be there all the way through out the course and I'm glad I made the right decision with skills train because good help is hard to find now I'm happy to know that I'm doing the right thing and I can proudly say I passed my first TMA with 100% and I can't wait to go through all the TMAs and finish the course and start working I would like to thank skills train for making it happen for me thank you.

I am study much harder, I am getting better at mark-up language but also I seem to be enjoying it more.I have faced some challenges in some of the tasks but finding solutions makes you learn better.

I am consistently working hard on my work and getting the desired results.
This month was the first time I had to create a web page from scratch, I found it very straight forward, exciting and rewarding. Especially when making changes to the page and seeing the results right in front of me. This made the study (more) addictive
I couldn't put the book down!! Keep up the good work team!!!

I have passed my CIW v5. exam in the first attempt. I have got 2 children under 5 years. MY husband encouraged me to study. MY mum also helped me in looking after children. After a break in my carrer, I could pass my exam in the first attempt. I think that is my acheivement. I need to pass more exams.

I feel that I have gone forward with great pace in the last month, completing all of the Perl section( although struggling at times), and in the past seven days have completed the first CD in Server Administration in record time, and achieving a 100% grade into the bargain. Put all of this together with the very high marks in other previous tests that I returned. Thank You.

I have restarted my studying again and am committed to send in a TMA each week. I feel much more enthusiastic and want to finish my course, I have also been setting up a website for a small shop in my village and am applying the knowledge I am learning on this course. The shop owner is totally computer illiterate and I have installed his computer and printer, set up internet, and email. He is now able to surf the net and send and receive emails! Some other people have expressed interest in setting up a website and are keen for me to do it. This give me a real incentive to get on with my course.
-Marja
I have increased the amount of TMA's I submit to nearly 3 a week. I have designed and coded my own wordpress blog. I now working with a company in America as support for a content management system which I am part of there online support team, helping people online if they are having problems with there sites running e107. I have also coded a new site of mine which I have been working towards for some time. I am pretty sure the sites I have done are Valid too, I should check again. I have gotten a boost in the last few weeks to get this course completed so I can move from working for myself to working for a real company with real prospects.
-Andrew
I have just recieved my result back from TMA 11a, which I thought I had messed up and was going to need to resubmit it, but I did not I got 100%. Which I am really happy about as I found the whole Perl section of the course really hard I have had to spent a lot of time studying this topic.
-Sarah
Having just moved to here from South Africa with very basic computer skills I have managed to keep this course going and pass the 1st 3 TMA's, continue my daily practice routine (I am a musician by trade)whilst I help paint the house and landscape the garden which includes removing rubble and debri do the shopping and walk the dog, I'm looking for a job on my days when I'm not studying or practicing, This is quite a juggling act and sometimes I just fall asleep from sheer exhaustion. But the next day I pick myself up.....brush myself off......and start all over again.
I'm very grateful to my mom and brother who support and encourage me to keep on going, as they both help to ease the burden when I'm feeling down or when I'm feeling insecure about my ability to do my course. And try to reassure me of my abilities and keep me focused.
I'm very grateful for there help. Thanks for your time.
-Marcus
Well most of all admitting that I am new to Skills Train, I feel that beginning this course with no I.T skills at all and now already after 2 to 3 weeks I am feeling alot stronger about my future goals and how the I.T world works. The biggest achievement to me , must be simply enrolling on a course with so much to offer.
-David
I have assisted my two relatives to use computers and apply several computer programmes (Word, Excel, Outlook) as I am well versed, after completing a ECDL course. I have also made tremendous achievements in my TMA grading(TMA01-90% and TMA02-100%) which is greatly attributed to my strong commitment to study the current course utilizing an excellent course materials provided by Skillstrain and continued support by the whole Skillstrain Management.
Thank you very much for inspiring me up to this stage and I am encouraging my friends and relatives to register with Skillstrain in the fields of their choices.
