Over the last month a lot has happened that has placed me in a more comfortable position when it comes to IT and computer related operations. I studied Marketing in my Bachelor's degree and knew nothing about computers. I started this web developer course to give me an insight into what was involved in the computing discipline as I was also about to start my Masters degree in Computing and information systems. I have been able to attend my university programme to the end and graduate successfully without any need to rewrite any of my exams... this was my singular dream in school. I was able to keep working on my tutor marked assignments and coordinate it with my job (as a 1st line support staff) all this time, initially it seemed like a huge burden but now I'm used to it. With my masters degree now over, I know I can dedicate even more time to my ciw studies. The icing on the cake is that with all the work and qualifications so far, I have just been accepted on a permanent role in a better company to do a much better job in IT and for much more pay. I was overjoyed when the phone call came and the speaker informed me of my success at the interview, I kept asking, "are you sure?", because it still felt like a huge shock. I also have to say that my results have improved clearly in the TMAs, I would say that I have an average scoreline of about 95% as things stand now, but this was very shaky when I started the course.
I know I have gained a lot since I started this course, and the hands-on method of study has been of great help to me, especially over the past month.

I work as a manager in a Residential Care Home for young adults with mental health problems, and it can be very stressful for me at times combining studying with this job. But I think I am trying. I recently encouraged one of them to buy a laptop and he had a problem working around it. Though I haven't used the Windows Vista Opeating System before, I tried with my experience in Xp to help resole the problem. He now calls on me for any difficulty he encounters.

Thanks to my course (Website Design Manager) I managed to design a website for pub-restaurant in Edinburgh.

I now know what a website is and I now know how it operates and I have learnt how to develop the web through my course,I think doing this course has made me understand the function of the web.This course is so helpful with loads of things but the top one is that I can now do the things I like most being on the web business.

I have assisted my two relatives to use computers and apply several computer programmes (Word, Excel, Outlook) as I am well versed, after completing a ECDL course. I have also made tremendous achievements in my TMA grading(TMA01-90% and TMA02-100%) which is greatly attributed to my strong commitment to study the current course utilizing an excellent course materials provided by Skillstrain and continued support by the whole Skillstrain Management.

I have just recieved the results for my fifth TMA submitted inside a month as to which I recieved a 2nd 100% mark. The results that I recieved this month was 100%, 75%, 83%, 95%, and 100%.
I have been working really hard and will be doing so until the course is complete.

Whilst working full time as a nurse and suffering from chronic back pain. I have continued my course studying hard and getting fairly good results. I am determined that this spinal disorder will not hinder my success in the world of IT.

Having done tma 2 and got 60% was told to redo it, after I was ready to do tma3, I forced my self to stay awake till 1am at night to do it to avoid further delays even though I am a single mum of 2 under 9 years old,I have to work in the morning and it is my birthday I should be out celebrating, but my future is worth staying awake for as the rest of my years will be the best.

In completing the first Section in this course, I now can have an intellectual discussion with the IT Web designer at my school about networking, and website design. I have indeed impressed some of my colleagues. As well I finally feel comfortable teaching IT to my primary school children. Before, when teaching an IT lesson,I used to call in the 'IT' guy to assist when problems occurred. Now, I am able to help the children when problems arise. I have also managed to keep increasing my score on my tests with a higher average each section I complete. I jump up and down each time I get 100%. I feel like I have achieved a great deal in the past few months and I feel the rewards.

It is interesting to discover more about computers, and there uses and hope that by the time I have completed the course, will be much wiser, and hopfully to gain a good career in the future.

I have decided to give up television and do more studying as I want to be working in the IT world. The job I am doing now is of no benefit to me so the more hours I can put in the study the quicker I will be able to finsh. I spend more than two hours watching TV so why not I said to myself indulge yourself in studying. It is a bit boring at time to read so much but what the heck just do it. So for me this is my achievement I sent in my TMA. I start on the next lesson and by time the previous lesson returns I have finshed the one I am on.

Firstly I would like to thank skills train for this opportunity to do something with my life. I am a 40 year old mother & wife,all my previous jobs have revolved round the children with their school holidays etc. my daughter is currently doing her standard grades & my son will follow her soon. I am constantly telling my children how important education is, but have none myself and feel a bit hypocritical. I am managing the course so far and I am really pleased with the results from my TMA's and feel really excited about my future as I have never achieved anything like this before. My daughter told me last night that she was proud of me but more importantly I AM VERY PROUD OF MYSELF. So thank you once again.

I have just had my 40th birthday last month and I am really pleased with my progress so far. At first I didn't know how to start which took most of my time to figure out how. I finally got myself going and I am determined to finish this course soon. I am married and have 3 kids aged 11,8, and 6. Currently I am working partime and my wife who is also a student nurse with course coming to an end in November 2007 at Middlesex university. The pressure to get the house in order is so high. Apart from this course I am also studying full time Computer science at Middlesex University since September 2004. Above all I am happy with this course so far.

I WOULD FIRST LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE AT SKILLS TRAIN FOR ALL THE SUPPORT THEY HAVE GIVEN SO FAR, I AM A N+ STUDENT I STARTED AT THE BEGINING OF THE YEAR AND HAVE BEEN TRYING HARD TO COPE WITH THE COURSE, I GOT MARRIED LAST YEAR WITH ONE CHILD AND MY WIFE IS CURRENTLY IN THE UNIVERSITY STUDYING THATS WHY I HAVE HAD TO TAKE A HOME LEARNING COURSE. I HAVE A DIPLOMA IN (MIS- management of information systems) WHICH I GOT IN 2003 BUT I HAVE WANTED MORE SKILLS AND KNOWLEGDE ON NETWORKING THATS WHY I ENROLLED FOR THE COURSE. I WORK AS A SUPPORT WORKER IN A SMALL HOME WHERE I SUPPORT 4 PEOPLE WITH LEARNING DISABILITIES, I ENJOY MY WORK AND IT FITS IN WITH MY COURSE AND FAMILY AT THE MOMENT THOUGH SOMETIMES ITS A TIGHT SQUEEZE OF TIME. I HAVE GIVEN 110 PERCENT ON MY COURSE AND I READ THE COURSE MATERIAL OFFERED THOUROUGHLY. I WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL AT THE SKILLS TRAIN AGAIN FOR ALL THE WONDERFULL WORK THAT THEY ARE DOING.

I've finally convinced my friend to consider skillstrain and the last time we spoke he couldn't wait to get a visit. This followed a sort of an argument as he was about to start attending a cisco course from a day college and one that would take him a year or more and most importantly costing fortune.
I had a point even in the outset of this tussle as he invited me to this college during one of his MCSE session. It wasn't a bad college at all, but in the end my assistance helped them understood subnetting and routing (and some related topics) and indeed provided them by far easier methods of the processing. I took that brief cheers of course but I was quickly on spot and I'm right on time again giving all credits to these wonderful tutors we've got and I'll like to commend your handsome efforts (thank you ). Having said that, I hope everyone is feeling the underlying skillstrain technology as much as I do. Everything is just awesome!
Finally, I'll go into June having finished another milestone and awaiting exams. thank you all.

Just starting this course has been achievement enough as I am getting close to being bankrupt. Certainly wasn't expecting to do that well from the course but I have been surprised at how much I am getting out of it so quickly and have been submitting assignments as quickly as I receive my marks from previous TMAs. I have just submitted TMA 5 and am now going to get on with 6.Thank you so much.

SINCE I STARTED THIS COURSE, I KNEW THE BASIC IN PC AND I COULD OPERATE MY PC AND MY FRIENDS PC IF IT HAD TROUBLESHOOTING. THEY SOMETIMES ALLOW ME TO USE THE PC AT MY PLACE OF WORK. I THINK I AM MOVING AHEAD, AND I KNOW WITH TIME I WILL LEARN MORE.

A student came to me asking for some help as her system went down. She was using windows 98. Due to the crash she had lost an important essay that she had to submit. I ran scandisk and there were lots of bad sectors and lots of .chk files. I opened each one in turn using notepad and saw that among the gobeldegook there were little bits of english - I went through every .chk file removing the rubbish and then saved the files as .txt. After completing this I handed the machine back. The next day she came back to me almost in tears as she was so grateful. she told me that I had managed to save about 95% of her essay. It left me feeling rather good and it was so very satisfying that I could have helped in such a way.

I am writing this on behalf of my husband Robert as he won't do it.
He has had a lot happen the last couple of years and has faced an uphill struggle due to a nervous breakdown from military service. His cofidence was on the floor and he spend time in isolation while he dealt with his condition. He tries so hard and although faced with adversity on he has rarely complained. Signing up for this course has taken alot of courage and his desire to acheive is growing. Its like I am getting to know the real person again. Thank you Skillstrain for beginning to show him he is worth something and that there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

I have started up my own IT business, fixing and repairing pcs from hardware and software problems. While doing this I have managed to create a income to keep my head above water, while freeing up more time to study more of my valued CompTIA course. Doing this has put what I have learned into practice and helped me to relate to what the course is teaching me. In my spare time I have taught many people things about PCs including my parents how to us their PC which I have personally made for them, enabling them to communicate with me through E-mail and messenger services. It also helps them feeding their Ebay addiction.I have also taught my self web design.I am getting into the IT industry in many fields, but mainly concentrating on PC repairs and maintaining PCs. I am enjoying every bit of it and have found a sector of the working industry that I feel confident with while having a hobby at the same time. I am now on my third update to this course and plan to take no further updates as I now wish to complete and pass my exams in this course. The advantage however is that I would have studied this course three times.
