As I am working in a hotel as Concierge, you can all figure how busy this can be in the hotel business during summer seasons. This June is no exception.
You might be surprised if I tell you that I am a football referee too. And I had a fitness test with The FA on 19th June which I have passed with success. I trained up to 5 times a week to achieve that. The fitness test itself was of two parts: Firstly, you must run continuously for 12 minutes and complete a minimum distance of 2500 meters within that time. After 15-minute break, you will then be required to complete two 50 mete sprints, each in under 7.5 seconds. You can imagine that is not as easy as it looks. However for 12 minutes I managed to run the distance of 2950 meters which was the 3rd best result of the day for 70 people. I shall say that wasn't that bad.

Despite everything I didn't stop my course and I have managed to submit four assessment so far. My target is to do 6 in total until the end of June. It won't be easy and I am not asking it to be. I am taking my course seriously. I know that in couple of months I will be prepared to take the first exam and get the A+ Certificate. This will open me the doors to a new dream career.

I wish everyone good luck and believe in yourself.

I have just completed my degree and now am studying PC hardware and maintenance- essentials. I have completed three of the assignments and have got 95% and 97% for two of them. I am waiting to see what I get for the third which I think I completed comfortably. I think coming out of university and doing this course straight away helps as you still are in the studying mood.

Enrolled July 2006 for CCNA/CCNP and started my first TMA in A+ in August. Despite my busy work pattern as a hospital doctor, I've managed to finish A+ and sat CompTIA A+ public exam and had a good pass. Just received certificate 2 weeks ago. Also finished Network+ yesterday. Looking forward to starting CCNA/CCNP part of course. Been very exciting ad looking forward to second profession or change of career!

I have been studying PC maintenance for a year now, and have had to put studies on the back burner as I worked hard to help establish the charity I work with in the UK. The summer months I have been working part time to recover lost finances from the years voluntary work, but have made the time in between shifts to crack on with my course. In the past month I have worked my way through a substantial chunk of my course achieving grades between 80 and 100%. It just shows that with a well organised and disciplined structure to your week you can excel in more than one endeavour. Enjoying the course and look forward to completing the course, now sooner than I thought possible.

I signed up with SkillsTrain some time ago, completed and successfully pass A+. The course was very challenging and I have learnt a great many skills as a result of which I have put to good use.

The last 12 months of my life have been very difficult and I have had many personal issues, bereavement, back injury, problems at work and money worries are just a few. At the beginning of March I set myself a goal, as I started N+ some time ago and had only completed 4 assignments. I requested the new course pack for N+ as I thought it would be a good idea to start a fresh.
When I open the first section much to my surprise the complete layout had changed for the better, I thought at the time these guys at Skills Train are always improving things, I found the layout much better with slightly smaller sections but with more questions which made it more challenging. Once I got started there was no stopping me. Support of family and friends, many nights burning the midnight candle and of course not forget my very dedicated team of tutors in Luton, just a phone call away. I have managed to complete N+ assignments 01-10 and written assignment 10a within 1 month (March just gone), along side a very demanding full time job, family commitments and other activitys. This just goes to show anything is possible if you put your mind to it, I have learnt so much since I have been a student with Skills Train. I have been able to fix friends and family's PCs and just last week I fixed and upgraded a home Network.

This is all thanks to Skills Train and those dedicated tutors of mine of which I give thanks, they give you all the support you could ask for, this last year has been a bad one for me but now things are moving in the right direction.
I have set my self a new goal this time next year I will be MCSE certified and that's a promise.

Some time ago I joined Skills Train and in that time I have successfully completed and passed A+. I have gained a great deal of knowledge and skills as a result. Over the last 12 months I have had a lot of personal issues, family bereavement, problems at work and money worries are all but a few.

After putting all this behind me I set myself a goal at the end of February to get back to my studying, as this had suffered. I had already completed the first four sections of N+, and had discovered after logging into student world there was now a new course pack, which I requested immediately. I felt I needed to start this course afresh. The pack arrived promptly a day or two later, when I opened the new pack much to my surprise the sections and layout have changed for the better, with slightly smaller sections and a lot more questions, I saw this as a challenge and thought to myself the Skills Train team are very dedicated into making improvements to their courses.

When I started the first section there was no stopping me, through dedication, support of my family and friends, many nights of burning the midnight oil and of course not to forget my very dedicated team of Skills Training Luton. I have made much progress. Within one month (March last) I have completed TMA 01 - TMA 10 and my written TMA 10A of my new N+ Course (Halfway there), all but one have been passes of 100%, this has given me a great sense of achievement.

I have learnt that if you put your mind to something, anything is possible. I have managed this holding a very demanding full time job, family commitments and other day to day tasks. Your course is designed very well allowing it to fit around you. My tutors have been an invaluable help to me this last month very supportive and helpfull, it is great knowing they are just a phone call or mouse click away, keep up the great work team.

I would just like to say a "Very Big" thank you to Skills Train for your unfailing and continued support, I am learning so much completing this course. I have fixed friends and family PC's and only last week, I managed to fix and upgrade a large home network. I have now set myself a new goal, by this time next year I will be MCSE certified and that's a promise.

I have submitted 5 assignments my lowest pass mark has been 73% and my most recent assignment which I have just had my results for came back as 100% as I knew very little about computers and their workings I feel I have achieved so much in the last few months thanks to skillstrain and the effort I have put into my course so far which I hope to further improve in the coming weeks and months.

When I started my course I was unsure about whether I could do well at the networking section, being more familiar with the hardware side of I.T the thought of protocols and topologies filled me with a profound sense of dread. However I believe that I done well so far and I received the best result in a while for my last TMA with a 98%. I can now say that the sense of dread has been replaced with a sense of mild caution.

I think I'm not doing to bad for a beginner as my scores are higher than I expected also I think I'm not doing to bad as I do shift work in my job which sometimes can be hard doing this studying & extra work after a long day driving round the M25 but then it relaxes me from that sort of day.

IT TOOK ALONG TIME TO GET MY HEAD AROUND THE AMOUNT OF INFO BEING TAKEN IN. IN SECTION 2 PART A BUT WITH THREE ASSIGNMENT PUT THROUGH FILL ALOT BETTER.
NOT TRYING TO RUSH ANYTHING JUST MOVING ACCORDING TO MY TIME TABLE.
WITH NO HANDS ON TRAINING, I THOUGHT I WOULD STUGGLE BUT HAVING REPAIRED A FEW FRIENDS PC (FOR TRAINING PURPOSSES) I WOULD NOT HAVE KNOWN WHAT TO DO BEFORE I ENROLLED ON THIS COURSE. I WISH TO THANK SKILLS TRAIN FOR THE KNOWLEDGE GAINED SO FAR.

BEING A FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER AT PRESENT COVERING HALF OF SCOTLAND.
CUSTOMER FACING AND GENERALL PRACTICE IS NOT A PROBLEM. FOCUSSING ON MY STRENGHTS AND NOT SHOWING ANY WEEKNESS WHEN FACED WITH PROBLEM THAT I MAY NOT UNDERSTAND, BUT TEND TO REPAIR THIS GIVES A GREAT SATISFACTION AT THE END OF THE DAY. LONG MAY IT CONTINUE.

I was a serving soldier for 24.5 years up until Mar 2004 when I was medically discharged with (PTSD) Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Major Depression Re occurring, a common psychiatric injury of war.
The symptoms I had were insomnia, aggressiveness, depression, dissociation, emotional detachment, nightmares and potential memory loss, with all that suicidal attempts.

February this year I decided to do something with my life I discovered skills-train and arranged a meeting with one of their representative in Feb2007.
After spending nearly three hours with the representative I was convinced that this company can give a boost to my knowledge of the PC and will help me to get into a well paid job.
I have joined the course of PC Hardware and Maintenance (A+) and (N+) and since I started my course, Mar 2007, it has given me a lot of self confidence.
I have managed to help out a few friends with various problems on their computers, so that has spurred me on even further. All in all I am really pleased with myself and it just proves that if you want to learn something anything is possible.
I intend completing both A+ and N+ and looking forward to taking the A+ professional exam later on in this year. Keep it up Skills-Train you have gave me my life back.

I am Dyslexic. I left school with an RSA in typing and a Gold Personal Survival in Swimming. I then went to College and trained as a Nursery Nurse, I passed my exam NNEB on the third attempt. I passed my driving test on the third attempt. In 1974 I started to trained as a Nurse SEN. I then did two Open University courses, followed by three years at Southampton University I obtained a 2.2 in Psychology with Physiology. In 1989-92 I did a two year p/t study for a Masters degree in Applied Criminal Psychology, I had to re-do the first year. In all of this I never, never got an above average score on a written test, assignment, or essay. I was expecting a score of 60 - 80 (given my past experience) for my recent TMA 19a (the revision TMA). I got 100%. I was staggered. I had managed to read the questions and work out what was asked and give appropriate and complete answers. Something I have never done before. My life has been full of frustration and failure (though my persistence has seen eventual success, if limited) and for once I got the maximum score. It's amazing.

I would like to thank the tutor team and all those involved. I started this course in February this year and I almost gave up at the initial stage, but thank God I did not make that foolish decision. But after I completed my TMA 08 assignment I was able to install a sound card in my PC successfully and this encouraged me to go ahead with the believe that if I put more effort in I could make it. Now I am more determined than ever before to finish the course and sit for the Exams.

Also I must not forget to mention that some of my friends now call me "PC Engineer because of the lectures I give them on PC maintenance. This course has increased my knowledge and value of PC hardware.

This month my life has drastically changed, I have been so busy with my children and the news that I am expecting baby number 3, I fully expected my course to have taken a back seat this month but I have amazed myself by sending in tma02 and gaining 90%, I have also just sent in tma03 and am now halfway through studying or tma04. I am so proud of myself this month and I am now determined to speed my way through the rest of my course and get ready to take my first IT related job! Thank you for making this course so enjoyable!

My wife went out and purchased a laptop and all the gubbins that the sales person said she needed then brought it all home and said help!I don't know what to do with everything that she had been sold, so after a calming drink I set about teaching how to install her programmes and set up the security settings then explained to her how to work her laptop and to use it exactly what she purchased it for, now she is writing the reports and preparing her clients case files in preparation for discharge from hospital then using the E-Mail, I have also taught how to transfer her files and keep them with her using the memory stick that she did purchase on her own after I advised to get one. Before starting this course I would have walked away from the problem but now I was confident to do it. Thank You.

After starting this course with only self taught PC skills I have submitted three TMA's this month and managed 100% scores so far though still waiting TMA02 result. I'm certainly enjoying the challenge even though I also work 50 hours a week plus. Best decision I ever made was definitely starting this course.
