IT Training Courses Certification Reviews
This month has not been the easiest of months to study for me; I would actually say it has been the hardest so far. Normally I am able to go through a part of the course and only have to read through the parts that I didn't fully understand again, but, nope not this month, I have had to go through all of it three and sometimes even four times to understand it, how it all fits together and how it runs as a program.
I would like to say that I love the style of presentations; reinforcement notes and Post Assessment Test, all of these are unbelievably helpful when it comes to submitting a PLTMA. I am proud and excited about being part of such a great IT learning centre, which includes a team devoted to helping me to succeed not only with my course but within the I.T. industry.
I would like to express my thanks to the SkillsTrain entire team for a fantastic job.
Thanks for all of your support.

I am a mature student and all already a programmer in a number of languages I felt that I was shy on my networking knowledge and again although I have written WEB pages before I had never managed to get to grips with JavaScript.
During this month I have completed Section 2 Part A - Javascript Fundamentals and now have a good understanding of the benefits and shortcomings of the language with a pass rate of 90% and above my network knowledge has similarly been improved in previous elements of the course and I am hopeful of further improvements as the course progresses.
Despite my dyslexia I have found the course notes easy to follow and has enabled me to begin to read JavaScript code which previously had been a mystery to me.

I am studying full time, and also working 5 nights per week so I really do not have too much time for myself. I was on holidays in the US last month and saw people reading and doing some work in inter-states commuters. My job is about 30 miles from Manchester, and at the beginning of June(when I returned from the US) I decided to be taking my work with me in the bus or go the American way. During all the 2 hours journey with the Stagecoach, I am now reading and this gives extra 10 hours on my normal working time. It has already yielded some results as I have just secured 100% in TMA 05 and 06. With this new strategy I shall secure more 100% in the future.

I'm currently studying at home around my one year old daughter, which usually means just being able to study in the evenings! As soon as she goes to bed I start and try to complete as much as I can in the few hours I have spare. In the last 3 weeks I have completed 3 TMA's, 90% on the first, 80% on the second with the third being marked at the moment. I'm keeping motivated by checking the IT Job Sites every now and then too, its keeping me focused and its great to see and imagine just how different our future could be in just a short time if I can carry on speeding through my studies.

This months been a really tough one, but I have still managed to achieve exceptional results on my tutor marked assignments and have just completed all of section 1 of my course....I moved to Birmingham from Plymouth in August last year, so that my boyfriend could find work after finishing Uni. It was hard leaving all our family and friends behind and having to start a new life up here...so this month we decided to take a break down to Plymouth for the week to see everyone. However while we were there I had some heartbreaking news, my grandad passed away. I was already upset as I realised how much I had missed being with my family and friends and then finding out my grandad had died I was heartbroken. My Grandad was a great man he always believed in me, even when others didn't. Even though I have been really upset I have found that getting on with my course has really taken my mind off things and I feel more determined then ever to do well and look forward to the day that I have passed all my exams and can get the job I've always dreamed of.

Hi all well what can I say.......
When I first applied for a web course I didn't hear anything until a month or so later in which time I had forgot all about it, when I got the call to say someone would be round to see me I was nervous and excited...what if they think I can't do it will I be able to pay all these this went round in my head and having suffered with depression for over 7 years you get a bit paranoid..anyway when he came round within 10mins I felt right at ease as he explained the course to me and what they expected of me....sounded great anyway 2 hours later he made a call and I got a course E-COMMERCE PROJECT MANAGER and only wanted to do web design but after speaking to me he said it would suit me so I said OK he knew I have a few major operations coming up and wanted something I could still do from home when I have my long recoveries.....he gave me the folder and went, I left it till the next day to look at as I was still on cloud 9.
When I looked at I thought on my god I can't do this but I got stuck in and studied hard didn't help that my computer keeps breaking down maybe I should of done pc repairer ha ha at first I rushed it as wanted to do it quickly but had to re-do a couple of TMA'S that will teach me so now I take my time and read everything twice and have completed my first section and just received my second folder im so proud of my self and the tutors have be great if I could pat myself on the back I would so to people who have just started don't look and think you can't do it YOU can and don't rush it's not a race and it's not worth it having to take the test again, good luck to everyone doing a skill's train course.

Well I have only recently started with my course, and have already finished my first TMA, in which I achieved a %100 mark. I am three qaurters through the second one and look forward to every bit of information to follow.
-Hendrik
I have learnt many things I did not know from the first lesson. I looking forward to finish my course. I am with no dought that I will achieve my goals. I appreciate the work done by you all. TMA01 I managed to get 95% marks which gave me more confidence to continue.
-David
Having been the first person to have completed my MCSA/MCSE and know after serious health problems to continue with out never having to reset a TMA and also who is an unforgettable name amongst the staff. May I also add that there are times when I cry when I don't receive my following course work quick enough, although that is just me being anxious.
As they say "those who can DEAL those who can't TEACH" thanks to you guys I'm know doing both.
-Mark
Despite several mishaps with my course material and maintaining a full time job I have come through yet again and now achieved my third 100% TMA result.
I have now started a new job as an IT Security Officer for a large MOD establishment. The only way is up.
-Gavin
I come from the townships in South Africa and have never worked on computers before and knew nothing about them. Now I can send my assignments via the computer, I can use the internet and send emails, I have worked hard on understanding the course and I have learnt to use the internet to help me to understand some of the work and I have had good marks. I am a carer at the moment and I don't want to do this for the rest of my life so I am looking forward to finishing the course and new challenges in my life because this course is really helping me.
-Innocent
I work full time 8:30am - 6:00pm, which means I don't get home until about 7 every night, then I have to cook dinner, tidy the house, do the ironing, feed the cats and dogs, take the dogs out for walks and then I have to have a bath and do my coursework. My IT skills have improved and it shows as people will come and ask me how to solve a problem with their computer and it gives me a really good feeling about being able to help and that all my hard work is paying off. Thank you
-Kayleigh
I am enjoy my course despite the fact that I have difference challenges which includes having children, going to work and keeping the household together. Out of all this I still create time to study for my course work. My performance in my course work has been encouraging. The course has also enable me to put in to practise what I have learn and gain at work as an Business Administrator and be more efficient in the use of Microsoft word, word processing and storing data.
-Remi
My recent achievements are, to activate my on log in account on our home PC,I have customized my own desktop and set up an internet connection. The benefits of this are two-fold,(1)I would never have been able to do this before starting my course with SKILLS TRAIN and I feel proud that I have achieved this.(2) It keeps all my work and course notes under the control of a password, thus reducing the chance of my children deleting any of my work by mistake. I am really enjoying this course and I am looking forward to the next part arriving. Thank-you.
-Jayne
I feel in the last two months I have attained a good level of study as reflected in my marks. I am completing assignment 10 part A as I type my entry. I am delighted that have done so much in so little time, I hope to continue my study program and look forward to the rest of the course. Thankyou Skills-Train
-Hugh
I WOULD FIRST LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE AT SKILLS TRAIN FOR ALL THE SUPPORT THEY HAVE GIVEN SO FAR, I AM A N+ STUDENT I STARTED AT THE BEGINING OF THE YEAR AND HAVE BEEN TRYING HARD TO COPE WITH THE COURSE, I GOT MARRIED LAST YEAR WITH ONE CHILD AND MY WIFE IS CURRENTLY IN THE UNIVERSITY STUDING THATS WHY I HAVE HAD TO TAKE A HOME LEARNING COURSE. I HAVE A DIPLOMA IN (MIS- management of information systems) WHICH I GOT IN 2003 BUT I HAVE WANTED MORE SKILLS AND KNOWLEGDE ON NETWORKING THATS WHY I ENROLLED FOR THE COURSE. I WORK AS A SUPPORT WORKER IN A SMALL HOME WHERE I SUPPORT 4 PEOPLE WITH LEARNING DISABILITIES, I ENJOY MY WORK AND IT FITS IN WITH MY COURSE AND FAMILY AT THE MOMENT THOUGH SOMETIMES ITS A TIGHT SQUEEZE OF TIME. I HAVE GIVEN 110 PERCENT ON MY COURSE AND I READ THE COURSE MATERIAL OFFERED THOUROUGHLY. I WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL AT THE SKILLS TRAIN AGAIN FOR ALL THE WONDERFULL WORK THAT THEY ARE DOING.
-Dennis
I already finish my TMA01 with 100% of marks and submitted TMA02, and I hope that I will get full marks. I want to finish my N+ certification in about 2 months and I study hard for that and I like to study about computer networking. May be in this month I will finish my first part of N+ certification.
-Nirav
I have a degree in Computer Science but I applied for the CCNP course because I just wanted the certificate to land myself a good job. I did not expect it to be very different from what I covered during my degree and just after two months into my course I found this really bad review of the training online. I actually thought I had just lost my money but I just thought I should continue with my studies since I had already registered.
I am now a year into my course, I am about to finish CCNA. Sticking with the course is probably one of the most brilliant decisions I have ever made. The course content is brilliant, far from what I covered during my degree, the live labs are fantastic and make me confident to face real world situations. The support that I get from the tutors is marvelous; the work gets marked really fast and the emails are replied to almost the same day I send. This has encouraged me a lot. Combining full-time work and studying has not been very easy, I really appreciate your encouragement. My average mark since Network + is above 87%. I will be sitting for my Network + exam next month and I am sure I will do very well.
My boss is very supportive and because she knows the course I am doing she lets me sort computer related problems for anyone in our team before she refers the problem to our IT team. I am confident that after this course I will get a better job than I have now, I am working as an Information Room Assistant at the Careers Service of Oxford University.
For all those who have come across bad reviews and feel discouraged, don't lose heart, the courses are exactly, May be more than, what you are told before you start, just concentrate on your studies, submit your TMAs, ask your Tutors when something is not clear and you will find that the course is all you were looking for and you are on your way to a brighter future.
-Gertrude
I always try my best with all my assignments and I feel I have committed myself to my work 100% I have got through 7 assignments in a period of time, and feel that is a great achievement and I will give 100% with all my coursework.
-Kevin
I feel I have achieved a lot since I started the course, I initially started my A+ course in 2005 but struggled really hard to find the time to study in between family life and work. Then personal problem seemed to mount up, my relationship unfortunately ended and my step father was taken ill( fortunately he's doing well now). I still persevered and managed to pass both my exams eventually to gain my A+ certificate. I feel I have a greater knowledge now and indulge in pc repairing for a hobby and am looking forward to an interview soon. Many thanks.
-Wayne
New very little about computers when I 1st started, I have worked my way round the course and managed to have a better understanding of computers, to unextent of troubleshooting and repairing some major problems that arise in my personal pc as well as at work.( a good example, today I have managed to deal with a major printing failure at work due to the spooler service being stopped. After several attempts to restart it, an error kept being displayed that the spoolsv.exe file could not be found in the system. I then searched the c drive only to realise that for some reason the file had been deleted from the C:WINNTsystem32. I managed to locate the file in a file which was hidden attrib, then copied and pasted to the system32 and at last the spooler system could now start.) Bearing in mind that I'm still in my early staged of my course,(i.e have not covered some topics) it is a great achievement that I can work around the pc confidently and can explore matters that I have not yet covered in my course due to the strong foundation that I have gained in my course. Not to mention that I came to uk 4yrs ago and could not speak English, so I have combined this course with other major NVQ's eg. English & Businness Administration.
Last but not least, I have manged to get on very well with my course at the same time running my own business(employing people & managing a business) which I started recently.
