IT Training Courses Certification Reviews
The month of March has been not good for me.
I had a financial problem and wanted to stop the course. I had to think a lot about my situation. At the end, I realised that Skills-Train is going to help me a lot about my future. I made some sacrifice and I am very happy to continue my course.
Skills-Train helps me to understand Microsoft. Also, the tutors at the skills-Train are very helpful.

I am a new student and have only submitted 2 of my TMA; the first I got over 90% and the other, 73%. Although I have been in the field for quite a while now; repairing and networking systems, troubleshooting and assembling (cloning) systems. I hope to continue to work and study harder to achieve my aims and objectives.

I became A+ certified (on 4/06/07) I have also submitted four tma`s this month from my N+ coursework, where I have kept up a high standard of work with my lowest mark being 90%, I have managed to remain focused on my studies and goals despite my household resembling a hospital ward of late (firstly I sprained my ankle ligaments, then both my children catching chicken pox and my wife having a health scare as well), so time has been of a premium just lately but even by my own admission I think I've used it productively.

In the past month I managed to complete the last few TMAs of my A+ course and pass my examinations at the first attempt, before the 2003 objectives expired. I have also recently transferred a friend's computer into a new case following a faulty PSU and some overheating issues.
This has all been achieved whilst working full-time in a new job as an IT assistant, which I got due to the fact I was already enrolled on this course.
I am now looking forward to continuing with the Network+ material.

In November 2005 I sat both CompTIA A+ Core Hardware and OS Technologies exams covering the 2003 objectives. I just managed to pass the OS Technologies exam but failed the Core Hardware exam. I was very disappointed but soon put it behind me and continued to study my N+ coursework. I had forgotten all about the Core Hardware exam until I received an email on 11th May from CompTIA reminding me that I had until 30th June to complete my 2003 certification.
As I had already passed the OS Technologies it would be foolish not to push for certification before the expiry date, so I booked the Core Hardware exam for 28th June. For a Month and a half I have studied like a man possessed, and today being the 28th June I am very pleased to see my report in front of me which gives me a candidate score of 872 !!
Happy days.

I would just like to let people know that on 4/06/07 I became A+ certified, I would never have thought before I started my course that I would attain something like that I always thought that with having a young family and a full time job that I wouldn't have the time or energy to study but I proved myself wrong and I'm glad that I did, I'm now working towards my N+ and after that my MCSA, my best decision so far though was making the initial call to skillstrain and starting out on this new career journey, so if there is anybody out there who are having doubts about is it. Is it all worth it, then the answer is YES !!, its been a long hard and sometimes frustrating road but nobody ever said it would be easy, lastly I just want to thank the whole of the skillstrain team without whom I wouldn't have got as far as I have.

My brother's 13 year old son was getting very upset with his laptop, as it had been playing up for some time. Eventually it gave up all together and would not boot at all. My brother was going to through it away, so I asked him to let me have a look at it. With the troubleshooting & research knowledge I have gain whilst on this course I was able to track down the fault which turned out to be a bad memory chip slot. I put the memory chip in the vacant slot and the laptop came back to life. my nephew was very happy.

In the face of adversity I have had more than my fair share of personal problems this year, including a long stay in hospital where I was unable to study and also suffering an industrial injury where I was laid up for the best part of 7 weeks also unable to study.
My ultimate goal is to become an MCSE and possibly cisco engineer, but I believe the A+ & N+ are an important starting base. This is why I am studying them before studying the MCSE. To me, as an IT professional, I would need to know about legacy OS and devices as these are going to be around for a while, not everything is windows xp or vista just yet!
My goal of finishing this 2003 A+ course and doing the exam was looking unachievable when I called skills train to ask what I can do at the beginning of June 07. After talking to the skill train staff, I saw a glimmer of hope, but realised the exam would be out of the question however alot of hard work would be required to finninsh the course by the end of June and allow me to get the 2006 materials for revision purposes and so I would not have to study the 2006 course in its entirety, thus enabling me to take the 2006 A+ exam sooner rather than later.
I modified my goals to make sure that the 2003 course would be finished by the latest 28th June 2007. I have studied many hours in succession to attempt to catch up and realise my new goal. It was an important part of the process for me to continue with the high marks as anything below what I had already achieved I would view as a failure.
My strategy was to make the TMA's like a full exam. I removed the TMA pages from the sections so I would not be able to see them, I gave them to my wife who I asked to act a my moderator. I proceeded to study all course material by reading the books through again and again also researching other sources of information such as verified and authoritative web sites.
When I was feeling confident I sat down and proceeded to start the TMA's. I needed to complete by hand without reference to any material except my study notes, once this was done I was confident enough to complete the TMAs on the disk and send them in.
At the time of writing this I just have the final TMA, 26a to do which I will be doing tomorrow morning 26th June 2007, before going to start a night shift at work. Job Done.
A big thanks to my wife who has been very patient allowing me to pursue my Goal.

Being a parent, husband, employee and STUDENT, it was really hard work for me to get through my course, anyway I wrote my COMPTIA A+ EXAMANITAIONS and passed them with flying colors. Thanks to you all.

Between the 4th of April and the 17th of April I completed the first 5 tmas and would have completed more but I don't have a floppy drive and a lot of the stuff sent to me with the frontpage section is on floppy disc.

When I started this course I only had a basic understanding of computers but doing this course has helped me alot. I am a single mother of two and never got a good education due to having my son at the age of 15 so I am so happy to finally get my life back on track, I never thought I would get the results that I have. Life can only get better know.
-Terri
This was an excellent lesson It was very good and clearly explained I have learned something new! Thanks.

I HAVE ACHIEVED QUITE A GOOD RESULTS FOR THE COURSE SO FAR. MY FRIST ASSIGNMENT I HAD 100% RESULTS AND REST BEING 90%,85% 90% ETC. I AM MARRIAGED AND WORK FULL TIME. I DON'T DRIVE BUT TAKE PUBLC TRANSPORT TO WORK. THE ONLY CHANCE I GET TO STUDY IS WHEN I AM GOING TO WORK ON THE BUS. EVEN WITH INCONVENIENCES CAUSED, I HAVE BEEN GETTING FAIRLY GOOD RESULTS.

Having been 25yrs since I last study, I found it difficult at the start to take in information and remember it for any length of time.I have now began to understand and remember more of what I am learning (hopefully enough) and have not been temped (yet anyway)to look back on my notes when completing assignments I have personally been surprised at my progress and hope to continue to surpass my expectations.

I am still battling with M.E and had a very patchy May/June. I didn't stop studying I just couldn't stay awake long enough to get the assignment re-submitted. I kept studying as it helped take my mind off feeling ill, as you know I got 97% after resubmitting the TMA. I was really proud of myself for persevering and getting the grade I wanted!
I recently installed new RAM and a AGP card in my pc, before I wasn't too sure where things were on a motherboard. Now I felt confident enough to take the system chassis off and get the job done! I also helped my Dad install extra RAM on his PC. It saved him money, as he was going to pay a technician to install it for him.
I haven't done a great deal of my course yet but the knowledge I am gaining is proving more than useful.

About 3 months after I started my course my disabled grandson, who is 5 came to live with me, which meant giving up my job with the local council and starting as a taxi driver. Despite all of the upheaval I'm quite proud of the fact that I've managed to keep up my progress on the course.

Found this very usefull. I have not had much to do with MS DOS in the past but now have a basic understanding of the commands used. I will be looking to attend the more advance trainning should one become available.
-Chris
First LIT I've attended, was contacted prior to the start time to make sure everything was ok which was nice. The tutor made it easy to listen and kept to the key points without flooding the session, was very impressed and shall attend more. Many Thanks
-Robert
I found this training session very usfull and easy to understand. I look forward to more interesting lessons like this one.
-Argon
I enjoyed the session very much and it was a new experience to learn with a different teaching vehicle. It showed me that I do like the "class room" style way of teaching and that most of the time, the subject sinks in better than learning solitarily. I look forward to attending further classes.
-Steven
Very interesting to actually feel that the students are supported 100%. I was very satisfied and had a better understanding. Thank you for your support. I am very confident with the Live Internet Training. I know I am not alone, you are there for me, and thank you.
-Khalil
Found it very interesting especially installing a printer without PnP, using check disk from command promt and Dr watson. Top banana!
