IT Training Courses Certification Reviews
Though I am only in my beginning period, the knowledge that I have so far achieved covers 7 months tuition for other colleges. The teaching at Skillstrain is just unmatchable. I have gained vast knowledge relating it to my day to day business. If one asks me about a good IT college even in my sleep I would scream "SKILLSTRAIN"

I'm a person who loves to help those in need. Last month a friend of mine was doing her course work, and wanted a three circle diagram but did not know how to do it so she asked me for help. Even though I was not sure want to do myself, I sat there for almost 3-4 hrs to this diagram I tried, I tried and then guess what! I did it! you should see the smiles on our faces. It was a pleasure and I was so proud of myself.
Another time my friend called on me again. She was panicking so much "Margaret I am trying to print my work but the printer is not working and I do not know what to do", she said in a crying voice. Again I rushed to her aid I tried everything unstalling , re-installing nothing. What we going to do? I said. There was another printera laser HP 6 so we switched and the same thing, then an idea came to me why not just choose the laser printer and see if the printer will work and so I did and lo and behold it printed! You should see the joy on my friends face. So even though you think you cannot do something which you might have studied ages ago it does come back so thats my achievement.

Over the past month or so, I have managed to complete and recieve 3 tutor marked assignments and I am awaiting the fourth while studying for the 5th. I beleave that it is down to my hard work and support from my tutor team that I am able to achieve such high standards of work. all of the assignments have been over 90% with two being at 100%! This has made me more eager to carry on my course and look forward to completion and my final goal.

Then at 45, and already having a first degree in Mathematics and Statistics but without any knowledge at all in Computing, I felt being left behind in this Computer era. I therefore took a courageous decision in September 2004 and accordingly enrolled onto a three-year, full-time degree course in Computing and Information Systems at the Peterborough Regional College.
Suddenly finding myself among students whose knowledge in Computing was well beyond the basics, I realised the enormity of the task that lay ahead of me. I have since, had to work extremely hard to be able to move along at the pace at which the class has been moving. And I've had to combine this with part-time work. Though I have a family, the rest are not here with me and this means that all other errands have had to be run by myself. It has not been easy at all but I'm persevering.
Now at 47 and in the final year of the degree programme, I still feel I need more consolidation of the concerpts, in order to build more confidence, hence my decision to enrol onto this course, which is more practical oriented.
I'm still under pressure from the degree programme but I'm managing my time appropriately, so I can conveniently take this course alongside. So far I'm moving on well and I love it.

As an University student and also working full-time, I find the time to continue my studies with Skillstrain. This course has helped me with my job and a network administrator for over 20 primary schools in the area. The skills I have developed has made me understand the structure of servers and netwrok architectures, to give the children a better network, so they can develop their ICT skills as well; I feel as if I teach the children my way of ICT even though I dont actually teach them, that whats makes me proud of going to work everyday.

Since starting this course I have achived a standard of knowledge which has improved my postion at work 100%, I am able to hold coverstations with the IT manager as well as provide constructive input into IT development within the company. With the knowledge this course has given me I feel more confident in dealing with support matters and conversing problems to management upto the MD level of the company.
I would just like to say thank you for the knowledge I have aquired.
Thank you

Within the last month, I have had to go through so much hardwork at work as a result of the peak period demands of tech support after christmas. however, my performance at work has been signficantly observed to improve, and that is because I now provide tech support (network-related) with some good understanding of how it really works. I have not arrived at the point I want to yet, but so far, so good. I am normally not on the network support lines, but I have provided such support, and by that, exceeded the expected performance target. additionally, despite this really busy new work schedule, I have still devoted time to my study, which means I have worked terribly harder, and I have submitted 5 TMA's, in which my lowest score was 80% in two, 100% in one and 90% in the other two; which I think is an excellent performance. yet all this has been combined with other self-study things am doing.

I really have kicked off with my studying, even if I just started a new job as well. And I really have to say I enjoy working towards my certification

I have just recently finished the first part of my course - A+ certification during the month of January. I scored four of my better results to date - 87%, 93% and two 100% results. I am very happy with these results as I work full time in a solicitors office which I can tell you does not have the most relaxing atmosphere but with perserverance I have continued to study hard whilst travelling to and from work on the bus, within the few hours I have to myself during the week and at the weekend after I finish my part time shift at the local hospital. I am now looking forward to sitting my exam and I hope that the hard work and effort that I have put into my studies over the last few months pays of and I can then carve a career for myself in the IT industry.

I started a course with the Skills Train half a year ago. I will have the A+, N+ and finally the MCSA. Since I started and I listed the course in my CV I have much more opportunities around the city where I live. Now I can apply for an IT job and I won't have any doubts if I can do my job correctly. I am really pleased about the course and the Student word. The tutors and the phone help... its amazing. :) I am planing to do the CCNA course, as soon as I am going to finish with the MCSA. Its a challenge and a life time opportunity.
Thank you for all of you

I think pesonally I have achieved so much in this course, I'm 30 years old and thought I was past learning anything new. I have done really well with tutor marked assignments, the lowest percentage I have received is 80%, I'm no sure if that is great to anyone else, but it is to me!! I used to spend a fortune on pc repairs until I started the mcse, now I can fix things myself, even though I dont know everything yet, I just take my time and use what I have learnt so far. I'm also very busy at the moment what with having a full time job, and organising my wedding!! I'm really happy, and will continue to work very hard to continue to get good pass rates!! Thank you.

This month a had very busy time in my job. Every day I was working from 8 to 16 hours . I thought I wan't have time to finish my N+. I used to take my skillstrain books to my work and study as I had time. I've spent few nights studying. I was very hard time. Now I'm very pleased because I've just received MCSA 2003 materials. Thank You

I successfully completed my other exams in DECEMBER 2006, and am very grateful for having chosen this course CompTIA A plus 2003. I was able to do my other studies and at the same time study this course.
Through hardworking, Jan2007 alone , I managed to successfully study and submit four(4) TMA ,which is unlike the previous months. All This is against a background of being ; a parent(family man), full-time student(other course), part-time worker. Despite the pressures, my pc confidence have tremendiously been boosted through studying this course. I am now able to make an informed pc choice (memory size, upgradeability, troubleshoot etc) when next I am buying or upgrading a pc. I now know many of the specifics and finer details of my home pc.
The course is an eye opener in its own right and I intend to continue building on it. Jan2007 has been superb for me and I hope it continues like that.

I PASSED MY A+ AND N+ EXAMS WITHING A MONTH AND GOT 100% IN MY LAST N+ TMA AS WELL AS SUBMITTING MY SECOND MSCA ASSINGMENT ALL BECAUSE I HAVE DECIDED TO PUT EVERY EFFORT TO MY STUDY AS WELL AS WORKING OVER SIXTY HOUR A WEEK. NOW I HAVE GOT MORE RESPECT OF MY FRIEND BOTH AT WORK AND AT HOME AS THEY CAN ASK ME TO HELP THEM WITH THEIR PC RELATED PROBLEM AND GET A GOOD RESPOND. AM ENJOY THIS COURSE AND THIS CAN ONLY ENCOURAGE ME TO ANOTHER LEVEL OF STUDY.
-Emmanuel
Have submitted 1 TMA a week since Dec and have acheived a pass of 94% or better on each TMA as well as studying and doing my TMA's for my N+ I also hold down a full time job and am a father of 2 young children. so I have to split my time between studying, children and housework, but the rewards for both are above expectations

When you reach a certain periode of your life, it seems sometimes difficult to challenge yourself in taking new studies. I have been in this country for over 8 years, all these years working hard in the catering industry from simple kitchen porter to chef. I decided two years a go to study again in order to improve my social life and I have to say it's an everyday challenge, from the long hours spent in the kitchen to the ever demanding, but always supporting, familly needs. Since I began studying the MCSA curriculum, I have started realising the bennefit it and really looking forward to benefit for my familly of those long and hard labour time.
The truth is "PERSISTENCE ALWAYS PAYS!"
-Chris
From the begining of this course I didn't know anything about computer. As I go through every unit, I build up my knowlege and skills.
Now I almost complete MCSA course and I have achieve so many things I learned from A+ and N+. I am confident that I will get a better career in near future.
-Alexander
I honestly feel I have neglected my course for some time up until the last few months as I work long hours and I went through a period of not having enough energy left to study after work.
now I know I have not completed my course yet were others probably have in half the time but as I work 12 hour shifts 6 days a week I feel I have done very well in my studies and my marks have reflected this hard work
I am coming to the end of my A+ course now and I hope to achieve a pass in my exam and then move onto the N+ course armed with the knowledge needed to progress within this industry.
since starting the course I have been working as a warehouse/tech support engineer for a small point of sale company which is nicely tied in to my course so I believe I am heading in the right direction.
the only down side at this moment with my job is the low salary and lack of real career developing job oppurtunities within the company so I am looking to double the amount of study time I spend and hopefully one day soon I hope to land a better job in a larger company with more pay (dont we all) and better oppurtunities to progress within the company to support my future family if there ever is one.
-Karl
I have been very pleased with my progress. I have just started a new job which involes working nights so iam getting a bit less time to study, but I managed to finish 5 assignments last month and was very pleased with all of my results. having two young children also makes it hard to study but I am so pleased with how I have done.
-Stuart
I HAVE NOW NEARLY FINISHED MY A+ WITHIN 3MONTHS
-James
I am nominating myself for student of the month because after all the hard work and consistent high marks in my tma`s ,on the 8th of Feb I took and passed the a+ core hardware exam (220-301) ive got my next exam in a few weeks (a+ os technologies ). All this was (and is) fitted in around family and work commitments so its been hard but well worth it, I feel proud of what im achieving and im looking to carry that on with my next course ( n+)
-Christopher
I am so far very happy to have gain some real understanings of the working of the computers, previously I had no understanings what so ever as what it was involve to use the computer. it was really concerned for me before I began this course but day to day now I can see how my understanding is improving as I learn more and more about it. I have not done any studies for many of years now so it was really a big challenge for me to begin.but very glad I started thank you.
