I just wanted to say thanks for all the good work you guys do! Being new to Information Technology and delving deeper at a commendable pace. I think I am incredibly lucky to be admitted into your institution to run a program on Web Design. So far, I believe I am doing well getting an average of 85% on my TMA's. I always endeavour to go through my course-work even when I am completely exhausted after work. I do have a great flare for my course.

Presently, I am in section 2 Part B, Practical Extracting Reporting Language, (Perl). Perl is good scripting language because of its cross platform, portability and functionality. It's great language to get stuff done swiftly and powerfully. Permit me to say, it is the best editor and coolest thing and I just love studying it.

As a starter, it was a bit confusing. I do take ample time to go through my notes over again. I am very pleased with my progress. I am optimistic I shall see the light at the end of the tunnel singing Songs of Praises to SkillTrain for a job well done.

I wasn't able to use a computer well when I first started the course with skills train I knew very little, since then I have learned alot, I have learned how we can secure our pc and how we can make it run fast etc etc. It was my dream to learn about computer as much as I can and now my dream is becoming true. I have learnt alot new and useful things, I am now preparing for my first exam and I hope that I will do well. Whenever I had problems my tutors were they to help me. I am very happy with my tutor team at skills train, because they are helping me to fulfill my dream.

I have also introduce my husband with skills train he is also happy with it and he is doing very well.

Once again I would like to thank skills train and tutor team.

I have continued to work through the course at a steady pace and still achieve good scores on my tutor marked assignment all 80% and above including quite a few 100%. Also I was at the section where the TMA was to create a Perl script which caused me a few problems but with a little bit of help from my tutors and my own knowledge I managed to create it at get 100% result.

For me the greatest achievement has been to never quit. In this course I've had a lot of hard, frustrating times. I've lost my uncle & grandma in the last few months which made life a bit depressing, financially my family was struggling, so I had to work a bit extra. But I still live the dream of one day getting this course finished and getting a good job. Its been an amazing achievement for me to continue on this course even after so many insults being thrown about this course, people have said your wasting your time but for me I will prove everyone wrong, slowly but shorley I will finish this course. I WILL NEVER QUIT, this is my achievement. I'm still getting along this course like a tortoise, but one day I will get to the finish line. Thank you for your help skills train.

As a complete technophobe, I have struggled for the last 12 months to keep motivated and on track of what I am doing, for what ever reason, I could not get onto the student world site and only got more frustrated with myself and the constant letters that kept arriving telling me how to do it, each time I tried again, that old saying try, try and try again, well look who's here....me.

I have just about completed my first section, I found it very hard and spend most of my time reading it over and over, for my results that old school saying of - she could do better, echos back, but I am doing it on my own and proud of what I have achieved so far. I just want to say, that I am determined to get that qualification and a new career wouldn't go a miss either.

It has not been easy doing this course and submitting assignment, as I am a priest of the Church of England and spend more time on pastoral and spiritual issues affecting members, developing my spiritual life, and above all, a final year LLM (Canon Law) - Ecclesiatical Law part time student (Cardiff Law School) writing coursework and also preparing for my project. Nevertheless; hard work, discipline, determination and time management helped to finished my TMA 01 which I had 90%. I believe this is great achievement.

I successfully completed TMA 01 (Tutor Marked Assignment), with a 95% pass, I would like to believe that I managed very well, as I currently have two jobs to go to, one in the morning, which is very physical and drains me of energy, and my second job, which is more so physical as opposed to my first. I finish work at 9:30pm, after which I come home to study for what was two hrs a day and now is 3 hrs. It sometimes takes me half an hour or more to go from work to home. By the time I get home I'm shattered and all I want is to sleep after a long and strenuous day, but that doesn't happen. I start studying at around 11pm -2am most days of the week, these including: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Thursday, Saturday and Sunday are not as texting. However, I know the strain and stress are only for a season, and with hope that when all is done it will have all been worth every hour of routine stressful dedication. Thank you.

Getting 85% on my first TMA really gave my self confidence a real boost. So much so that I was confident I could solve a problem that my Internet Service Provide, a cable company, seemed unable to do.

I have two laptops at home, one from work using Microsoft and the other a Mac. Since signing up to the course meant I had to use the work laptop I decided to get them the cable company to reinstate this laptop to access my broadband. Great I thought, now I can access the Internet from either. Not true! My home laptop had stopped working and after repeated calls to the cable company, every time I logged out it lost the connection. Needless to say I was getting nowhere fast so I made a decision to go out to PC World and buy a wireless router. I followed the instructions, very nearly lost myself to panic at the first hurdle before sticking with it to successfully install it on my home laptop. I then configured my work computer to pick up the wireless router as well. So now the children can access a computer at the same time as I'm studying, making home life less stressful!

I felt dead chuffed as I've never had the confidence to do this before. My understanding of how the Internet connections work has helped me to succeed in something I would have asked someone else to do for me in the past. It just goes to show, you're never too old to learn new tricks!

I am particularly happy with my outstanding performance in my first assignment. I have worked in IT department of a bank in my country for about three years as a computer graduate. My work is basically supporting users for effective use of the bank's application package(equinox banking system). I have just little or no knowledge of the hardware, networking/internet functionalities. Even most times I have to call my colleagues which a specialist in that area to help me setup my computer. My first lesson taught me so much and the material coupled with the lab experiences have made the whole thing sink so easily. The case study also help you to think and bring all that you have learnt to use. In just the first lesson I have learnt so many thing about the including the proper use of the resource centres. I can now configure my browser to what I want using the option button in the tools menu. Within the few days I started the programme I have learnt what I didnt know about internet and web browser since I started working. This programme is really a great one and I can wait to finish to demonstrate all that I have learn in providing solutions and adding values to whoever would employ me. I try my best to devote at least two hours to reading my material every day and that has helped me alot. I have submitted my second assignment and have started reading the third lesson. Hopefully before the end of this week I would submit my third assignment. I am mostly encouraged by the progress I am making and the level I learnt new thing which I can put to practical use. Thanks to the developers of this programme. It has really made much impact in me. The tutors are wonderful and always ready to assist. Is indeed a great programme.

First; thank`s for allowing students to expose their achievement on your site.
That will help to understand progress steps and the characteristic of each student environment, in both personal and professional level.

Second; my personal achievements as I see them:

A good introduction on the world of IT.
A logical understanding of the ways in how the world of computer behaves
a maximum information input in a minimum time leading to a fast progress
my sense of confidence in undertaking IT initiative and putting them forward into practical form, developing a great appetite for learning IT and pushing harder in the course study by allowing more time for it.
My life style is changing; becoming more organized an coordinated between the body and mind. A sense of support on a family level prompted by my display of the correct discipline, the result that I successfully achieved so far, are helping me in my current job and future prospect.

I have managed to complete 3 TMA's in this my first month. My results have amazed me because I have done 53 hours overtime at work this month and I didn't think I'd be able to stick to my study plan but I somehow managed. TMA 01 90%,TMA 02 92% TMA 03 being marked.

I have learnt alot through out this course I have achieved alot more than I would of thought of. I'm so confident with myself in getting this course completed I didn't think I would stick with it but I did. I got a 90% in my first test which is the biggest achievement for me as I have never in my life got a 90% on anything.

Well I started in this company EDS last year when I came over to the UK. I started off as a contact center call taker, within the last 4months I have managed to get promoted to incident manager of a 2nd/3rd line support, we took over the 2nd/3rd line support, I was in charge of getting the team Trained and keeping them up to track with the latest software, I went from zero to promotion to promotion to promotion all within 4months.

I also obtained EDS employee of the year for 2006/2007. not only have I achieved all of the above. but I have also managed to wiggle my way into a role where I help with service delivery, definining new processes for the busness, and creating brand new training material in the ITIL manner for the busness, needless to say, all the while I have managed to keep my studies up and all the marks ( except one ) beyond the 80 mark :)

When I first started this course I was in a job that just involved in building pc's/servers. I wanted to expand my knowledge in computers and thats why I chose to do a MCSE course. Since doing this course I have gained a lot of knowledge and more confidence in the network and server side. With the knowledge I have learnt so far I have been able to change my job and I am now doing a helpdesk support role and when I have finished my course I will be moved to network technician.

THROUGH STUDYING HARDER I HAVE ACHIEVED 100% ON ASSIGNMENTS 2 AND 3 AND THAT IS MAINLY DUE TO THE SUPPORT THAT I RECEIVE FROM MY TUTORS AND THE SUPPORT FROM MY FAMILY. I HAVE ALSO GOT A JOB WHERE I AM USING A COMPUTER ALL DAY EVERY DAY AND I AM LEARNING THINGS AT WORK THAT ARE IN MY COURSE WHICH IS HELPING ALOT.

I have been in this course since December, at first I did not know much about computers, just a few things, my typing speed has improved, I now know the meaning of many words which I was familiar such as software, hardware, different type of computers and so on, I can now type a text in 5 minutes, I have not taken any examination yet that's why I did not put any achievement, but will soon take an exam and hope that the result will be good.

When I first started the course it seemed that it was much too hard for me to understand most of it. I had never been an academic person anyway, and as a result my TMA's were being submitted infrequently.

Now I am really into the course and absolutely love what I am learning. I know so much more about networking than ever before and a couple of weeks ago I networked 5 computers together at my workplace!!! They were very impressed to say the least! My cabling could do with some more practice though! I am now submitting TMA's as soon as I receive the previous result back and am so happy to be gaining this knowledge. Also, I started using Linux so that it is giving me a greater technical knowledge and I was even able to point out an error in where unix stores the HOSTS file.

I feel more confident now and wish I would have taken this opportunity long ago. Many thanks to Skillstrain!!
