A lot of good, and bad things have happened in the last two years, but this Cisco course is spurning me on to do better. Back in April 2005 my boss committed suicide while I was signed off due to stress, a couple of years earlier, his boss had passed away, so this was a lot for me to take on board. My boss passed away just 5 days before my wedding, which made that tough too. Since then, I have moved onto a new job, have a new wife and family, and a new 10 month old baby, and a new house. It is hard to organise study time with three kids at home, and the first couple of times I received low marks for TMA's it made me feel very down, to the point where I almost gave up, but with the support from my wife and my family I stuck with it. I have managed to do 4 TMAs already this year (2007) which is a lot better than last year, and I now look forward to each new part of the course, instead of feeling very hesitant and anxious when it arrives on my doorstep. I know that on completion of this course it will all be worth it, and I will be kicking myself for trying to think I wasn't up to it. The Cisco course is a great opportunity to help improve the future for myself and my family, and I hope to study other Cisco courses once I have completed my current course.

My girlfriend entered my details to skillstrain after seeing an advert in the paper. I remarked that it was all a con, and she believed that I should give it a try. The course seemed very daunting at first, a lot of work to be done. I had a good knowledge of IT and didn't think the course could teach me much more. Boy was I wrong!! The staff are all so helpful, responding to my queries promptly. I am enjoying it so much, and it is easy to fit into my current job. I have so much confidence now and have even networked 5 computers at work, and cabled a cctv system using the skills I have been taught.
Thank you Skillstrain!

I'm currently studying an MSC Computer Security and Auditing with Greenwich University and doing my CISCO Studies.
My wife lost her job in Warwick and as a result we had to relocate to Dundee-Scotland. During the same period, my wife had a miscarriage and I had to look after her and our 4year old daughter and still do my University Work and CISCO TMAs.
I am very glad that I have passed all my MSc exams together with my CISCO TMAs despite all the difficulties and psychological pressure I have been going through.

In reality, the only reason I'm studying is to earn more money and get a better job. Qualifications mean nothing if you don't have the will or inclination to use the knowledge gained.

When I started my course, I just have a little knowledge in Networking environment. But in my spared time I read my textbook file which was supported by Skillstrain Institute and I did a lot of outlines and notes from Chapters-1,2 & 3 of this textbook within three weeks. I practices and answered all that chapters revision exercises. Actually I don't have much time to do it all in the specific time because I am also working 3-days a week and my working time is not a fixed rota. My employer always changes my rota week by week. I also go to University 2-days a week doing Electronics circuit course. That's why I am really busy in every week. But I always try my best in work and I give time and pay attention to every single movement. As my working hard, I achieved 97% in my Tutor Marked Assignment 01 . I have just received my Progress report this morning. I think now I have more confident to go on the next level and I am getting in touch with Networking environment. I also feel that I am more familiar with my Institute and my course. So I really thanks to all.

Its been a real challenge making out enough time to give to my studies, but the interesting part of it is that all my nights of staying up late to study and do my TMA's are very fruitful. My score in the N+ part A course has been outstanding as far as I am concerned, out of the 10, I have scored 100% in 5, 90% in 2 , 80% in 2 and 76% in 1 (which is my last score), like I said, I think that is really excellent, particularly when my circumstances are put into consideration, and to think that I submitted 2 TMA's a week on the average (I think that is a feat!). Additionally, based on the knowledge I have gained so far, my approach to work has remarkably improved. the lesson on troubleshooting become a handy tool for me, and as a result, I got a promotion at work. I really think every part of this course has been worth it.

After being fed up with my dead end job for the last few years I thought it was about time I stopped moaning about wanting a career and started to do something bout it!!so after looking at all the different companies out there I decided to take the BIG first step and go with skillstrain, so far I'm enjoying it and am impressed with myself as I never ever liked school but this is soooo much different and more educational, so here's to the first steps of my new career in it.

I am very happy to do this course. I found it a little bit difficult at the beginning; but I am ok now. It it not easy when you have a baby come to you all the time and disturbing you. But, every day I try to read my lessons. I am very please to do this course with Skills train.

I think I am working very hard despite being out from school for more than ten years. At the beginning it was very hard for me I couldn't concentrate, I didn't even understand what I was reading but I kept going and going. I started getting my confidence and my senses back. It was very difficult if I consider that I have two kids and one of them just wants to be with me so I had to study when he was sleeping or out in toddlers, plus the job I am doing is a late shift, which dosen't help me at all, but I have set up a goal and I am going to achieve it, and this is reflected on my marks.

Since, from the begining I was working with much pressure with my personal situation and I am managing to go on with the course till to the end, and finally these are my last months with the last part of the course, which I consider a great achievement for what I have done so far the results I have got I just can't believe it but it is the truth.
What is making me stonger to work hard or even harder is when I look at my familly they are not in good health I am trying so hard to get the results not only results but the excellent one's. Last month and the current one my wife's pregnancy was the biggest challenge for me to stop the course work or to keep on as she has a lot of complications and she can't do nothing because of her sick pregnancy, I have to help with the cooking, and take the children to School one goes to college he's 11 years and the other ones of 9 and 6 goes to Primary School and the 2/1 he stays at home with me and totally I have 4 boys. Imagine that I have to do everything on my own, the 2/1 boy was very sick last month and I had to take him hospital, when I came back I read and did the assignments, I managed doing it and got good results. My wife is still in the same situation but I can handle things well now. I have no tention of quitting, but on the contrary I am going forward with my Studies I have already an appointment for my Practical Session.

I am a carer for my partner who has severe epilepsy, along with doing the housework and looking after our 2 boys ages 3 and 5. I often study late into the night and go over the TMA's and over again until I am sure I can get the result I am aiming for, this last month the whole family has been ill with the flu and when we managed to get over that I came down with tonsillitis. I am eventually aiming to get qualified for when my youngest starts school full time and I am able to return to work.

I have had a very difficult year after 12 months of uncertainty was cast upon all of the employees of the company I was working for last year, then I made the decision to leave. I also started this Comp TIA course subjecting myself to another monthly outlay. All of this was taking its toll on how I felt about the way a company treats its employees, I am glad I left the company (well known name).
After trying & failing to cancel this course because of financial commitments, I have decided to try to get my head down to study as much as possible, maybe this is one bridge I should not burn. I have found it encouraging to see my results are high and I feel disappointed that sometimes I am not achieving 100%, its a strange feeling even when I have lost sight of what I am aiming for.
But hey, I already have a job which is paying the bills and maybe I could get something out of this course, if I can , anyone can. Last week I was helping someone to use a package who had been with his present company for years, I have only been there 2 months. To get through all of this in 12 months or so is a major achievement for me and I am still looking optimistic.

Before start this course, I did not know about computer. I did not have any idea how to type, how to install software. Now I know all the part names of the computer. I work full time, but I want to finish this course. I am really enjoying this course.

Having given up work to look after my 2 children (3 yrs old and 8 months old), I manage to get the children to nursery for 2 short days a week giving me a total of 6 hours per day for those days to study. After two weeks I have now submitted 4 TMA's and have another 2 waiting. I am getting through roughly 2 chapters per day, this should hopefully mean that I will have completed the A+ coursework in just 5 weeks and will be ready to take the exam.
-Simon
I am very motivated by the first result of my TMA 85%, I look forward to make a target of an average of 95%. My ambition is to finish and join esteemed IT flatanity where I look to acquire more environmental scenarios and challenges which by no means will propel me to higher levels through further research. My overall goal is to be come undisputed IT consultant I hope with help of the Tutors and skillstrain I will achieve them. I lookforward to having more information and practical environmental challenges as possible.
Bravo Bravo.

Currently I am working hard to pay off a loan I have, keeping a small car on the road, living and now this course. I am working lots of hours a week and still I find the time to complete my course work given to me. I am loving the training that I am getting and I hope to complete the first part of my course in 9 months (give or take). as soon as I send off a TMA, I'm learning for the next one, get a reply, then send off the next TMA.
This is a great achivement for me as I am glad that I found your courses.
-Peter
I'm my mum's carer and trying to study to improve my career and my passion for IT it's being a struggle trying to do both with no help.

I've passed 6 TMAs sent a 7th one of and have an 8th nearly ready to be sent as well. With working as a chef I'm doing 9 days on before a get a couple of, days off and have found it hard to do homework but have managed to get some done.
I've fixed a problem at home on my pc kept getting the BSOD coming up when running spyware program I ended with bad sectors on my hard drive and simply run chkdsk and fixed the problem quite happy with myself, this one took a little while to pin point the problem but done it none of the less. Also installed new wireless router and network card and sound card which had conflicts from the on board sound card but soon sorted.I'm looking forward to doing the rest of the course hope to be doing as well as I have been.
All the best.

Before starting my course with Skillstrain I had always dreamed to become an IT Engineer in the future, so when I start MCSE course with skillstrain at the beginning I found it a bit far to reach my goal, but after completing my A+, N+ I thought I had found the goal I was looking for. I was working in Coopervision as a Production Operator, very recently they had a vacancy for general admin assistant, I thought let's try my luck here.
I have phoned them and they asked me for interview so they were really impressed by my MCSE material and they offered me a job as a general admin assistant and I was really pleased and thanked the skillstrain, so no more production operator which I was really bored off. Many many thanks Skillstrain.

I have started my course with Skills Train just over a year now and although I have had previous computer knowledge from completing the CIW qualification, I must admit through studying the N+ and the MCSA Windows Server 2002/2003, has given me exceptional knowledge about computer hardware/software and computer network which is what I enjoy doing, hence why I decided to embark on this course. Not only that, finding a college to fit my working and private life around wasn't easy until when I discovered Skills Train, and holding down a full time job within a busy environment such as the police my current employer and supporting a family whilst giving 100% to a very intense course with a lot to take in isn't very easy. But nonetheless, through hard work and dedication I can safely say that I am almost finish and with a lot of confidence to pass my exams. I am also proud to say as a result of studying the N + and MCSA Windows Server 2002/2003 I have recently had an interview internally as a Communication Officer, awaiting result, and I am also having another interview next week also internal as a Computer Forensic Investigator. I thought progression such as this worth sharing as I haven't had an interview in a long time let alone two in two weeks. Many thanks to Skills Train and its Tutors.
