Just recently achieved my first 100% result on TMA12, which has given me an extra lift to study harder and progress further within my course. My confidence and skills have grown since starting the course. More friends and family members are seeking my help and advice. Already built two pc's for friends who are very pleased, and also troubleshooted another pc and repaired for a BT workers friend.

I joined SkillsTrain in December 2006. I always wanted to have a career In IT but never got the right guidance from anyone until I came across SkillsTrain. After deciding to do Comptia A+ I had barely 6 months in hand in which I had to study the course material and to appear for Comptia A+ 2003 examination as the last date for examination was on 30th June. During this period my wife was pregnant and had to take care of her as well, we were blessed with baby boy on 22nd DEC 2006. I had many sleepless nights specially in first 3 months and at times felt so stressed that I wont be able to do this but with my wife's support I was able to carry on.

I work for a Restaurant as a Manager and my working hours are very unpredictable ending up doing 60 odd hrs or more a week. I could hardly find time to study, some how I managed to study for 7-10 hrs a week. Until recently in June I finished my course work and applied for exam.

I passed Comptia A+ (both the exams)on 29th June. I couldn't believe myself that I did it. I am really very happy and looking forward to do Comptia N+ and then CCNA. I want to take this opportunity to thank SkillsTrain for providing me with the platform to build my career.

I have passed my first 2 TMA's and I am thoroughly enjoying taking this set of courses. I never thought that I would start off so well at the beginning. The courses that I have chosen are ones which I hope will help secure a future for myself and my family.

I hope that I will have success in my upcoming assignments and I also hope that I will do well in them as I have done in the ones that I have passed so far. The time in which it takes my tutors to mark and return my assignments is second to none, I couldnt ask for a better team to whom I am working alongside. I hope I will be considered for the student of the month as this will give me an incentive to try harder and progress further in the future.

I will be the first to admit that I have been very slow on progression of my course, but recently have pulled my finger out! The last few months I have handed TMAs in on a regular basis and have acheived good results. Best of luck to every body studying with SkillsTrain, and thanks to all the tutors for their assistance!!!

Well about 2 months ago emails were about as far as my pc knowledge went, oh and playing games. Now when I get all the error and warning messages on my pc I actually understand what they are and dont just click ok and carry on.

I've always been able to fix and work on anything, but pc's confused me as I couldnt see what was working or not as the case May be, now I am confident enough to go into the system itself and make changes to programs to attempt to solve the error messages im getting.

It May not seem a lot but to me it's proof that I am taking in all the information I am learning, and yes I DO believe that I will pass all courses I take and I WILL become a happier person with a future and career not just a existance and a job. That is the reason for my taking these courses.

After suffering an injury, I have taken on board the compTIA A+ course without any understanding of IT previously, to further my knowledge and use it to help me in my current employment within the network industry. Although I have an old computer at home I do not really understand how it operates, but having taken the first part of the course, it has explained quite a bit and increased my understanding and curiosity!

My first result recieved amazed me, I scored 100%! It May seem basic to a lot of people but to me that was a real achievement!

I look forward to continuing with the rest of the course, and eventually having the understanding to allow me to reach my goals.

Already I have helped a friend with simple problems to do with their o/s and basic knowledge enabling them to access areas they would not normally attempt.

OK I gotta be honest im not one for blowing my on trumpet but after the month I've had I thought sod it.

I've just passed unit 9 of PC Hardware and Maintenance Part A. Anyway this last month has been an absolute nightmare; my son has cystic fibrosis and has been taken into hospital, he's been in for 2 weeks. During this time I have a job as a self employed courier which is a 60 hour week and add on top of that trips to the hospital every night and staying over the weekend to give my wife a break. How the hell have I found time to study - well I've used my time on a weekend with my son in hospital to study whilst he's been asleep on a night time. This May seem more heartless than it is as my son has to make regular two week trips to the hospital, which is worrying but when you understand what his condition is the fear is taken away.

There's always a way. I hope soon too be able to end my time as a courier to find a less demanding and time consuming job hence the reason for this course. Thank you for reading.

I have achieved knowing what is inside a computer and getting to know of how it works & also all the parts which is inside a computer to make it all work.
I am also very happy with the achievements of my results.

I have also helped my friend find a fault with his computer and that was a big achievement. These are the achievements I have done so far since I have been doing this course.

I would just like to say I was a little sceptical about enrolling on my chosen course at first, on the other hand now I am more familiar with the function of Student World I am happy to push in to new areas. This new found confidence is also reflecting on my TMA scores considerably!

I had a basic knowledge of computers and how they work since I was 18 at college, however since starting this course it has vastly improved my knowledge and experience to enable my to help my friends and family with their pc problems. I have even been able to build my uncle a pc desktop. Also recently I have had just had an operation therefore been able to study harder and improve my results.

I hope to continue and gain more knowledge and experience to hopefully pursue a career - all thanks to all at Skills Train.

Thanks and carry on with the good work.

First of all, I think it is hard to talk and to write about my self but the big change that happened in my life by starting this course encouraged me to do so.

I came to live in the UK 3 years ago, my English still needed improving, but I worked very hard to learn English and to look after my family and study my course material.

In my country I was working as adviser to the minister of planning and I have university degree and more than ten courses in different subjects as IT, statistics, public relations, languages, SPSS, GIS and how to use the Remote Sensing to detect and solve problems in our land and undersea and also to learn more about our atmosphere to reduce pollution.

In this course I really developed my knowledge and learned how to fix computer problems and the most exciting moment when I finish a clean installation and the computer runs fast and no error messages appear. Thank you.
