IT Training Courses Certification Reviews
Am glad, that I made a choice, a choice that have transform the way I think. Since I started this course am convince that the sky is the limit for me. Am willing to go further and never relent. I want to use this opportunity to thank those who initiate this idea for those who can't afford to go to college or university to realise their dream but having and providing this medium through which their dream is being realised is a great achivement.

My three kids my are my greatest achievement. I am a fully qualified electrical test engineer and have revisited college many times over the years to keep up with all the new regulations. I work hard at my job and try to fit in as much study as I possibly can. I am finding that the more I study the more everything makes sense. I am really enjoying the course and hope that one day I will be working in the IT industry.

Although this isn't an achievement in passing an exam as I have a long way to go for that, this is an achievement for me, in studying the course material.
A couple of weeks ago my downstairs sockets trippied out when a fuse in a plug blew. Having reset the switch on the fuse box I checked all the plugs to see which one had fused. As it happens it was the fuse in the power lead to the computer that had blown. I replaced the fuse in the plug and connected it back to the pc and switched it on, nothing happened! My pc didn't start humming as normal! What could it be??
Not having the cash to buy a new pc, I thought what the hell! It's what I'm doing this course for! I checked the manufacturers warranty and just as I thought it was well out of date. So I decided to have a crack at troubleshooting it myself. This I did successfully and found that the PSU had blown. I double checked my findings with one of the tutors (being a novice I thought it best to ask), and successfully replaced the PSU in my pc which is now working perfectly.
There you have it, not rocket science I know, but for a complete novice I think I did pretty well!

Despite a very demanding full time job, and a second part-time job, managing to log in and get TMA's submitted as soon as possible.
I use my lunch hour to study, and test myself using the course book after each unit, as well as trying to remember the answers when completing the TMA on CD.
-Shane
Simple and informative covering commands and their application in full; good for revision purposes; spoke clearly.

I am currently a serving member of the Royal Navy, based on a P2000, HMS Tracker. We have been transiting around europe for the last month teaching all aspects of naval life & tradition to university students. This is a busy period for all concerned but I have still managed to study for a good period each day & sit & pass a few TMA's which to me is a really good & worthwhile achievement. I thought that I wouldn't have the time or inclination but with a little bit of drive & determination, any goal is achievable. This makes me even more determined to succeed in this course when my workload onboard reduces & therefore my studying can increase.

I have been working for a Learndirect centre for a while now and am now able to support my students that are undertaking PC technical courses! We have never been able to do them before but once I told my employer they started advertising them and I am now the "professional" in that area!

Coming from an engineering back ground and at the age of 44 starting this course was a hard thing for me to do and I have found it very hard but with some help and time I have nearly finished my course. I no longer work in in engineering as I have got a new job as a IT Support Officer in my local County Council and it is all due to the hard work and time and effort that I put into this course. My new employer was very impressed with the course material and my TMA results and it is all down to that I got my new position.
Thank you to all of you at the college, and to all of you who are studying, dont give up look at what I have acheived and you can do the same. Best wishes to all of you and good luck.

Having recently been made homeless, I have been finding it rather hard to study by moving from one place to another but with SkillsTrain it is make things a bit easier to do the course.
Before starting this course I would never have had the confidence to even consider starting to look for a part time job. I now aim to use the skills I learn on this course to include to help me start my own business.
I would like to thank SkillsTrain for giving me the confidence to make a fresh start with my life when I thought I couldn't do anything in life.

I was very worried about being able to complete the course however with the support of my tutor I have not found it as hard and I feel very proud of my achievements so far and look forward to my new career in I.T.

Dispite many setbacks during this last month I have achieved many 100% marks in the tests and being ill in hospital for long periods of time the course work has lifted my esteem and kept my mind on the process of getting better and not allowing the illness to get me down during the long hours spent in the hospital bed.
The course content has allowed me to communicate to my fellow hospital inturns about the course and hope that it has fired up more ideas and course applicants for the profession and the college.

This has helped me understand this a lot more than I did before, to have someone tell you all about helps with my learning. This live training is a great success for skillstrain. well done to you all.

Well this is a great learning curve for me. I have submitted all 11 TMA's and I only started the course in May 07. It was a little difficult to fit in with my work pattern, but I am feeling very very pleased with myself. I am a 50 year old who left full-time education at the age of 15, so if anyone out there says that you cannot teach an old dog new tricks, I am proof that you can!!
I am hoping to expand my course and take the next part as soon as possible.
Well good luck to all that take these computer courses, it opened my eyes to my own potential, and I hope that it does to many others!

I have now completed the 1st syllabus for my course, it started off slow but during the end the momentum was high, and I achieved a hell of a lot. In all my TMAs I have achieved over 80% and in this month alone I have completed 3. I am pleased to bits.
-Richard

The Network Troubleshooting live internet training was a booster and tonic to my CIW training. I am very pleased about it.

I work for an IT Harware and Networking Equipment broker. While my skills are not technically based in relation to this particular role (I dont set up and monitor servers and such like) my ability to source products quickly and access information on the Internet is. After the first couple of sections contained in the CIW course I was able to apply what I had learned to my job, and show other members of my purchasing team an easier faster more accesible way of working.
I downloaded Internet Explorer 7 on all their workstations and showed them how tabbed browsing works, becasue they were always complaining about having to open up nine or ten browser windows, now all they need is one open. I also showed them how to set the browser cache files so their computers ran a bit faster, and how to do various other tasks such as clearing browser history, for which they didnt know how to do, cookie settings to allow them to be automatically handled and generally make their job a bit easier when it came to the accessing of info from the Internet.
My boss was pleased with this as he has no time to do it, it stopped people complaing to him about it, and generally made the research, information and surfing side of the dept jobs a bit easier. I have now been put in charge of maintaining these functions, and as I progress I will have various opportunities for improvement and responsibility within the company, all because I managed to apply something from the course to my daily working life.
I am really enjoying the course and studying and I am positive in the fact that this will open more doors and job improvement for me in the coming weeks and months.
