IT Training Courses Certification Reviews
I AM NOT CURRENTLY EMPLOYED IN THE IT INDUSTRY BUT HAVE MANAGED TO PASS MY COMPTIA A+ AND NETWORK+ FIRST TIME.
I AM CURRENTLY HALF WAY THROUGH CCNA INTRO WITH SCORES AS GOOD AS 100% AT TIMES.
-Honest
Just started the CCNA part of the course this month (July) after completing A+ and N+ (all within a year) and working as well. Sat the CompTIA A+ public exam and passed well.
Did find that part of the course a bit easier to handle because of the printed course material.
I used to take relevant pages to work and can study during spare periods including luchtime.
I find the CCNA part more challenging since it requires hours behind the PC to read the online material from Cisco Academy.
However, just within the firt half of this month, I have managed to complete the first two TMA assignments and just finished the online module 2 exam with a mark of 87.2% (having obtained 100% in module 1).
Looks like long hours in the night for some time but I'll keep up the pace!

Three weeks ago, I wrote to the college for a reference letter to back up my application for a new position within my company as my company wanted the letter confirming that I have completed A+ and N+ and have commenced the study of CCNA. The letter was provided and I went, I saw and we (myself and SKILL Skillstrain) conquered.
Someone with a little and humble beginning is now in a comfortable position within the Information Systems department. Not only that, I applied for further training and if the unconfirmed news I heard from my manager should be trusted, then I am already successful. According to my manager, I was selected for the training (among other 3 people) for the fact that I already have Experience of CISCO and Networking. How would I have gained all the above remarkable experience without Skillstrain solidly standing behind me?
My success is not going to end there for I do know that it has just started. The very day I took the bold step of joining Skillstrain was the very day I took my destiny in my hands and said to my hidden success;" Let's start our journey". and we have just started our success journey and story. Success doesn't come so easily, for it demands hard work. My TMA's and my drive to succeed are living testimonies of my hardwork which Skillstrain contributed to in no small measures.
I just wish I started with the college earlier than when I started. If I did, I would had risen more than I have now. But there is no regret as long as I have Skillstrain, success is assured.

I have recently only started my course to become a network engineer with skills train. I have just received my first TMA assignment mark at 90% which has pleased me very much and give me the drive to try and stay or raise above this level in the rest of my assignments. I have just submitted my TMA 02 and awaiting feedback and begining to study unit 03. I have thoroughly enjoyed my course so far as it starts you with the basics and helps you work your way through at your own pace. It is also great to know that there is a dedicated team if ever you have trouble. I have set a target for myself to try and pass my Comptia A+ certification within 6 months and so far I am on track!

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis which has damaged my joints in most of my body. I am determined to start my own business. I am not going to let my illness get the better of me. I am really enjoying the course and want to carry on, I am having a week off for doing some decorating and back to the assignment Monday. I do get flare ups with this illness and I have too rest. The good thing about this course is that I can do it in my own time. I worked through 1 to 10 of the N+ quite well and I will take a bit longer doing 10A and 10B and work harder on 11 to 20. Stress can cause me to have flare ups, this course is really interesting I do not get stressed in any way.

Well this is not my first time of attending LIT but whenever I have the opportunity to say one or two things regarding this fantastic system of lecturing, it will always be full of praises. What else can I say rather than saying a big thank you to all members of skillstrain who where in charge of the session - their teaching and speaking was very plain and clear. I would like to thank all those engineers that made it possible for us to enjoy this type of training, it feels like you are in classroom which is great.

By doing this course I have been able to achieve a greater understanding of how to build a computer and also installing various peripherals and internal components.
I also feel that I have achieved my ambition to be able to work again, either in the Technology field or helping others to acheive their true potential.

Having the worry of my mother having cancer twice, and strugelling with depression and a serious chronic back condition, I recently traveled down to the Skills Train facility in Luton (from manchester) where I sat the City and Guilds web design exam (and hopefully passed). This was a very painfull experience but I got through it with the help of the Excelent SkillsTrain staff. This experience has spured me on and I now have the Foundations Exam booked and am confident that I will succeed even though I have to revise whilst lying flat on the floor AND trying to look after my son (being a single parent).

I have begun contract work for a variety of NGO's and Charities as a web developer, and am negotiating with several other clients for contracts to produce websites and support.

I feel I have achieved a lot as it is many years since I have studied for anything. I have children, one of them autistic, and find it hard to make time to study, but have tried extra hard.
I am only at the start of my course and just submitted my 4th TMA, but am very proud of my marks for the first 3..90%, 95% and 100% for my last one. This might not seem like a big achievment to many, but to me it is a lot!

First and foremost, I have to say how fantastic am enjoying this training and the help I am receiving from my tutor team.
I started this training with full knowledge of basic office computing, in the shape of computer skills required to carry out administrative work. I went into this training with an open mind, and what I have learnt in this short period of time is amazing. I can now configure my system to the web browser of my choice, I can check and set my browser cache, size of my system memory, set up anti spam etc. These I did not have any clue as to how they were done before. I have also learnt how to instal FTP client that I like and also how to use MIME type to open an item that has been download and could not open otherwise.
I have also learnt the basic skills needed to manage a project. I am training to become Web Site Design manager, but Skills Train is not just focusing on that, they have introduced me to variety of topics which has increased my understanding of the computer and its working system.
If I have to state my progress so far on this training, I could spend all day and night writing. However, little said, I am ever so happy to have chosen Skills Train for my training. The teachers and the system is unblieveable.

I have just completed CIW Section 2 - Part B: Perl , for me this was quite an achievement. I found this topic particularly difficult to understand and heaved a sigh of relief when I had completed what I thought was the final TMA but, then I received 11A and B through the post! I took one look at the questions and thought 'where do I begin'? My tutor provided excellent support throughout and I have gained a greater understanding of Perl. I feel very confident in what I am doing now. What a great feeling it is to see the code run and produce results. Thanks!

Just after starting the course I changed jobs from car salesman to web design salesman to gain more knowledge and experience. The company I worked for was only interested in cold calling and money coming into the business so I did not learn (or earn!) as much as I wanted. This made me completely disheartened and I was not able to maintain momentum with my course work, which left a gap of several months.
I moved to a different company (in I.T.) and I was requested to review the company's website due to the fact I mentioned I was doing the CiW web design course! I read back through course and researched some web design companies. Using the CiW knowledge I had gained I was able to see what made a good or bad website during my research. I made a presentation of all my findings to the Managing Director, who promptly stopped using the current designers and took on a new company that I had recommended. The new site is currently being built.
I am now back on track with my course and enjoying it thoroughly!!

Before I decided to take on a course with Skillstrain, I had left university because my partner needed fulltime care due to memory loss from cancer treatment, I didn't really know what I wanted to do with my life. Then I seen an advertisement for skillstrain and I arranged for an interview and skillstrain were very helpful knowing that I could train from home is a really big help and allows me to persue a career whilst still been able to care for my partner.
I have found the course very usful in my day to day life, I have been able to help my friends and family with there computers if things go wrong with the system.
I am enjoying the course and learning something new and exciting everyday, this is something that I thought I wouldn't be able to do again for a long time.
Thanks to this course and Skillstrain I have gained my independance back and have a future career to look forward to.

I am trying do as much as I can to achieve my course and get certificate despite working full-time including bank holidays and weekend as that is the requirement of my job. The course which I doing is not that easy especially when English is my second language. I try not to give up despite "weak days" which are really hard for me :) I would like to wish all students all the best in achieving qualifications and lots luck in career.

I was really aprehensive about doing an online course and was worried that the support and needed course material wouldn't be there. I was shocked when the course material came through and pleased with the approachable way it was laid out. I knew a bit about computers before and this is why I chose CCNA. Since I have started the course, my knowledge has deepened and I have been able to easily Network various peoples and company's computers. I didn't use to have a lot of confidence before, but now find that I am able to help a lot of people with their computing.
All this has been possible thanks to SkillsTrain, and when I didn't do as well in TMA's as I wanted, the tutors comments really helped. I am nearing the end and I can see a bright future ahead. Go for it, its so worth it.

I have only recently started a course here at SkillsTrain and I am happy that I am getting high percentage marks on my exams when I am also under a lot of pressure at work doing various taks. We have implemeted a new IT system within the housing association, and as I am on the IT team, I am learning EVERY aspect of the system, where other people will just be learning their little corner of the system.
Learning all this, coupled with trying to do my day-to-day job and teach others the system at work, can be come very stressfull and tiresome at times.
I am happy and pleased that I am able to come home of an evening, relax and then relax again, whilst studing my course here at SkilsTrain. I could be doing the job that I am doing now and then go to college on certain days.
So SkiilsTrain has helped me imensly in furthering my career and I am also looking forward to acheiving all the qualifications that I would like to have.
I have also started to troubleshoot friends, family's and neighbours computers when a problem arises. With the skills that I have at the moment, I am able to do this with confidence :)

I have studied thoroughly this month and I have been through many ups and downs in order to achieve the desired grades on assignments. I enjoy studying the material and I know this learning process that I'm going through will only improve my knowledge and help boost my carrear in IT.

I am now working on Telecoms, Data Comms, Audio Visual,Security and Wirless.

Before starting this course,I had a little knowledge in IT.But at the moment I can proudly say my understanding of IT has improved drastically.
Lately the progress report of my assignments has also being a motivation factor which even urges me on to be more serious with the course.
Am also able to advise my friends on some aspects of networking. All thanks to my Tutor Team and would like to assure them of putting in more effort then I previously did since I am assured of their readiness and willingness to give me all the support I would need.
