In 2005 I started N+/MCSE course honestly I wasn't sure that I am doing good thing. At the beginning I wasn't eager to learn but week after week I used to gain more and more knowledge. I didn't noticed that after 11 months I finished N+ part of the course. So I attempt for N+ exam and passed with great result more than 85%. I was so surprised about my knowledge because I didn't believe in my abilities. After 3 weeks I received certificate and I started looking for a new IT related role.

Just after few days I was invited to an interview from a BMW company near Oxford. On interview I surprised employer with my multi-skilled abilities, and achievements.

I get a job not exactly in IT, but with great chances for promotion in near future.
I decided to take that position; it wasn't easy because I and my wife expecting a baby in September and we were "forced" to move from London to Oxford. But we made the decision.

On my first day I met with the manager who trained me in new role for about two weeks, my job involved quality control on the production line. After some time I mentioned about my IT skills and I had an interview with IT manager. Everything was great, after next 3 weeks I was moved to IT department on new IT Network Analyst position.

I see now that this investment it is starting to pay off. I have more time to studying for my MCSE exam and I'm sure that I will succeed.

Now I have great job and in few weeks time I will be a father!
I am the happiest man in the world!

Thanks to Scheidegger

I origially started the PC Hardware and Maintenance A+2003 course, after my son decided not to complete this course and due to the money paid, I thought I would give it a go. Unfortunately due to ill health I did not complete all of this course.

I then had the opportunity to change over to the current course. I then decided to change over to the A+2006 course material and have now completed this section of the course. I have found it very interesting and have enjoyed learning more about building up a computer from scratch, rather than just knowing how to use the various programs.

I am now continuing my studies by taking a Book-keeping course which will give me an opportunity to work from home.

For the last 15 years I have been self employed as a domestic appliances engineer. My business folded in Febuary this year. I had to go and find a job which I managed to do but it was not to my liking, but you have to make ends meet. I enrolled with skillstrain about 15 months ago and doing realy well most results being 85-100% I help out in a small pc shop from time to time which I really do enjoy and at the end of my training they hope to be able to employ me full time.

Over the last nine months myself and my family have had somewhat of an exhausting time!!

I started my course in September of last year and with my daughter starting nursery, I had plenty of time to get my head down and get stuck in!

However it then all changed in December. My partner was head hunted through her job and we decided to move from Manchester, where all our friends and family were, to Glasgow. As the full time dad all the moving and packing arrangements fell firmly in my lap! We were lucky enough to secure a asale on our house, which then fell through 4 days before Christmas, luckily another buyer came along one day later! However the sale did not go through til early March.

On January 2nd we moved everything in to storage and moved into a rented flat in Glagow where we stayed for 6 months. Try as I might to look after my daughter full time and acclimatise to a new city, it was very tough to get on with my course, espcially as I am in the process of learning Javascript!! I should also mention at this point that we were also planning a wedding htrougout this period!

In May year we moved into our new house and we found a nursery for my daughter, which she started in late August. Hence September became the month to start my course. It was also the month we were getting married, which we did back on September 6th. (I have also now started to look for part/full time employment!!)

Despite all this upheavable I have thrown myself back into my course and have already had three successful TMA's returned, I have submitted another and hope to be in a position to finish at least another three TMA's by the end of the month!!

Working on nightshifts 12hours for 5/6 days without access to a PC at work. Yet I still manage to do my lab practice and submit TMAs' using my PC only when at home. This I belief is a wonderful achievement under the prevailing circumstances and I hope to continue until I reach the end.

When I've started this course I had two big problems: 1st-I had four years break from studying and 2nd I'm originally from Poland and I was afraid that IT language will be to hard to fully understand. Fortunately all course material are written in simple, easy to understand terms, and even when I have to read each unit few times I'm very happy with my knowledge and my progress which encourage me to study more!

I found the Live Internet Training session very informative and learned a lot that I didn't yet know about the types of networks there are and the protocols that these networks use. thanks.

The entire Live Internet training was excellent. Learnt more about safety and how to prevent damage to components by using static mats and wristbands, also how to take precaution against a fire. Thanks

I am amazing myself at the moment, initially I thought that I would only have approximately 7 hours or less per week to study, but surprisingly I have found that I am studying 14 hours plus per week. With the new knowledge I am gaining from the course so far I have been able to solve problems with connections, e-mail, printers etc without a second thought, even though I have a standard knowledge of computers I have found that I am looking at things I would have never looked at previously, hence solving the problems quicker, I am even finding myself explaining terms to people and giving them a low down on exactly how it works.

The Live Internet Training was awesome. Well done guys. A few obvious points in the course that needed to be covered but still a few things in there I never knew. Very well presented

I learned quite a lot tonight in this Live Internet Training session but I think I will need to attend again to fully take in some of the latter points in the course material.

I am a 41 year old lorry driver who is totally fed up with with the job I am doing. I work a day-night shift and get home in the early hours of the morning.
When I get up the next day, the kids are at school and the wife is at work, and I wanted to do something with my life in my spare time. This is where Skillstrain came into my life and now I have a goal to aim at. I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel which I am now steaming along at a great pace to break through the other side and get out of the job I hate so much.
The A+/N+ course is a great way to start off into the world of IT. Like me a humble lorry driver with no IT skills at all. I am determined to change my life for the better. With Skillstrain's help I know this is achievable.

I began the CIW Web Design Manager course back in 2006 after my girlfriend and I had a tough start to the year with losing a baby it was something I felt I needed to do for myself and to further my career eventually so I could support us and the family we wanted. I fell off course at the beginning of 2007 as the same thing happened again knocking my girlfriend and I another hard blow. Since then I have picked up pace and just recently completed Section 1 albeit over 6 months behind my overall goal and more good news is that our 1st baby is due on the 12th December 2007 12 weeks left today so excited :) and I am more motivated than ever to get the whole course completed as soon as possible.

I started this course at the beginning of September, I managed to submit 2 assignments both with scores in the 90% area. Before this I couldn't work a computer very well, also I have a full time job 2 children one 8 and one 3 plus a pregnant wife due in January. I've put in a lot of time and dedication in, this is a great achievement for me without the help of skillstrain it wouldn't be possible.

Excellent Live Internet Training session. It helped a great deal in making a few areas, such as subnet masking, click into place. You get something extra listening to someone who knows confidence for a start! Looking forward to the next session.

I started my A+ course in the middle of March 2007 basically as a novice. I studied very hard, literally every day, and did quite well with my TMAs. When I completed my last TMA, the thought of doing the actual exam was quite scary for me since I had not formally studied in over 20 years.

Anyway I spent a couple of weeks revising and building up my confidence and then decided to book the two exams which would allow me to gain A+ certification. On Tuesday 18-Sep-2007 at 11:00am I stepped into the Pearson Vue exam room and did my CompTIA A+ Essentials and gained a score of 685. Then about an hour later I did the CompTIA A+ 220-602 exam IT Technician Designation and gained a score of 820.

I am very pleased with my achievements up to this point. I am now in the process of applying for work using my newly acquired skills and certification. I have also embarked on my N+ course.

Secured a promotion to Communications Engineer with my employer. Have been given the task of designing and overseeing the installation of a full network system in a New High School that we are in the proccess of building. The CCNP course, and my results, which I was able to show on-line was the main factor in getting this chance.

I thought I would struggle with the Javascript section of the course, but I have been very pleasantly surprised with how quickly I picked it up with a little patience and determination. I was delighted to get 100% for the script I submitted for my final assessment, especially since my health has deteriorated again this month so it's been a struggle sometimes to keep up. At the same time I have completed a database-driven website for a friend, making use of php and mySQL which I've also had to learn as I went along. This all gives me confidence that I can be successful in the course and go on to make a living, despite my health issues.

In 2001 I was involved in a serious road accident in which I broke my neck, during My nine months in hospital I knew I would have to retrain because returning to my old job would be impossible. The accident left me unable to walk and my left arm and hand unusable so I decided on web design the thinking been I could sit behind a desk and do most things right handed using a mouse. I enroled on a dreamweaver/flash course which I fitted in between intensive physio and several operations on my left arm and hand. I passed with flying colours gaining a deploma. I wanted to learn more so I enroled on the CIW Website Design Manager course which so far is going sucessfully. My advice to people reading this is never give up, my doctors said I'd never walk again, I can, my arm/hand is now functional and hopefully soon I'll be able to start my working career a fresh with new aims and ambitions.

I sat and passed my CCNA Certification exam 640-801. I am pleased with myself because I acheived a remarkable score of 974. I scored 100% in Planning & Development, Implementation & Operation, Technology and 88% in Troubleshooting. It was a long way because when I started on the CCNA course I had very little knowledge of computers. Then, I could bearly manage to type a letter on a computer. Back then in January 2005 I started right at the beggining with the Network+ Certification. Moving on to the CCNA Introduction and the CCNA ICND. Friday the 28th of September 2007 will remain a memmorable day for me because that is the day I got my CCNA qualification.
Many thanks to all my tutors for the course material and support with my assignments.

I am very pleased with my decision to change my career into IT after having been in Human Resources field for 10 years. After just two months of commencing my COMPTIA A+ with SkillsTrain, I was able to move across to a job as a Junior HelpDesk Analyst.

I now feel more secure in my current role, knowing that only I can stop myself from progressing to a more professionally and financially rewarding career. I could not be any happier.

Thanks SkillsTrain.
