I have been studying for 4 months now as well as learning to drive again and recently passing my theory test. I have booked my practical test for the new year.Having a full time manual job and 4 kids mouths to feed I have managed to complete part 1 section A of the course!

I started my course shortly after immigrating to the UK from South Africa. I am enjoying the course thoroughly and am learning new things everyday. I cannot wait to come home from work and continue with the next part of my course.
I work full time, have three small children and a husband to look after - I sometimes dont know where I find the time to fit it all in. My studies are my 'escape' Its my time to do something for me, something that I can call my own. I am constantly doing things for everyone else and I am so greatful to Skillstrain and the learning team for giving me the confidence to do this course.
I intend to use the knowledge I have gained by doing this course to start my own Webdesign business. Thank you everyone for your support.
One last thought for all those dispondent mothers out there START LIVING NOW! Stop saving the good china for that special occasion. Stop withholding your love until that special person materializes. Every day you are alive is a special occasion. Every minute, every breath, is a gift from God.

Despite spending the last fortnight in Hospital with both my lovely (but jaundiced!) newborn daughter, and diabetic wife recovering from her Cesearian section, I managed to not only stay on track with my coursework, but was shocked to get 100% mark on my test. Adversity really focuses the mind!

Found this LIT very informative and has helped me to over come a few parts of sections that were cloudy. Thank you, keep it up.

I have just finished another live training session. I would like to thank Skillstrain as I have really enjoyed the session, I loved how we were all able to interact in the session to make it a lot more interesting.

The end of October and begining of November have really been quite very busy in any sense possible in my household. I have been pinned down with three sets of assignments for my university due in on the 8/11/07. To my mind, there was no way of dealing with all this and the SkillsTrain course. I was about to pick up a phone and annouce that I am quiting the course. Luckily enough, I have managed to get my self together and finish everything on time! More importantly not quiting the course! I have got some breathing space now, and as result I am doing quite well with the TMA submitions. What a period!

I HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY BUSY THIS LAST MONTH. OVERTIME AT WORK, HAVE DECORATED THE FLAT IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS AND HAVE STILL MANAGED TO STUDY WITHOUT NEGLECTING MY FAMILY COMMITMENTS. ALL THE WHILE MY UNDERSTANDING OF COMPUTERS IS INCREASING EVERY DAY, I FEEL MORE CONFIDENT IN MYSELF BECAUSE AT FIRST I THOUGHT I HAD BITTEN OFF MORE THAN I COULD CHEW, BUT NOW I KNOW I CAN BE SUCCESSFUL IF I CONTINUE WITH THE STUDYING. I KNOW HOW HARD I HAVE WORKED THIS IS WHY I AM NOMINATING MYSELF.
-Daniel
When I started my study programme I was not computer literate at all. I juggle between studying and long working hours at work. Through interest, hard work, perseverance and the determination to achieve positive results, I managed to excel when I submitted my TMA01 for marking.
-Christopher
This month has been relatively difficult for me to combine work and reading(learning) but with a little bit of perseverance I think I will be able to achieve my target.

I AM A FULL TIME PRINTER WITH A YOUNG FAMILY TO SUPPORT,MONEY'S TIGHT AND LIFE IS QUITE STRESSFUL,I GET PAID MONTHLY AND EVERY MONTH I JUST SCRAPE BY AND NO MORE. THE LAPTOP I HAVE HASNT EVEN BEEN PAID FOR YET. I STARTED THIS COURSE BECAUSE I BELEIVE IT IS THE PATHWAY TO A MUCH BETTER FUTURE EVEN THOUGH I KNEW VERY LITTLE ABOUT COMPUTERS BEFORE I STARTED.
I'VE NOW SAT 5 EXAMS WITH 3 OF THEM RESULTING IN 100% ONE 93% AND 90%. I AM VERY PROUD OF THESE RESULTS BECAUSE I WORK LONG HOURS AND SOMETIMES DONT GET TIME TO STUDY. I SOMETIMES GO TWO DAYS WITHOUT STUDYING AS MY SON AND DAUGHTER TAKE UP A LOT OF MY TIME. BUT I LOVE DOING THIS COURSE AS I'M INTERESTED IN LEARNING EVERYTHING THERE IS TO KNOW ABOUT COMPUTERS AND WITH HELP FROM MY TUTORS I DEFINITELY KNOW I CAN ACHIEVE THIS RESULTING IN A GREAT CAREER.

I have to say that 2007 has been a bad year for me, I am disabled due to 2 back operations in 97, so I decided to take this course on A+ & N+ but this year I have had 2 bad car crashes which has made my back and hips a lot worse and my doctors have told me that I wont work again, due to the medication I am now taking, so the hope I had doing this course has been for nothing apart from proving to myself that I could have done it.
I am not looking at it as a waste of money because I am still going to complete both the A+ & N+ so that I know I could have done it. While doing the course I have learnt so much, which has rubbed off on my family as they all have computers which they have a go at fixing under my guidance, I also took a NCFE LEVEL2 IN TELEMATICS while doing the A+. I will be sitting my exams for A+ very soon and I have just re-submitted my TMA1 on my N+.
Good luck to all that can use these qualifications for a better life.

I am 36 of age, and I was working in (UCLH) university college of London hospital which I was a supervisor in domestic department. I was happy with my job and I loved it. I got up one day and I said to myself I want to have a change in my life. I decided to join skills train: I tell you I have been different since I come to know SkillsTrain. Now I am looking in the future leaving what I hated behind.
In May this year I had back pain for which I was in the hospital for two months. I came home and I stayed for three months. I have been struggling with my studies and I hope I will catch up. I believe I will make it with my studies.

I would consider my main achievements so far in my course has to be the learning curve in what I have learnt in computers and pc's so far, I can diagnose, strip-down and re-build a faulty pc with no need to revert to looking in any books or on the internet for help and advice.

I started my course in 2005 but fell behind and slowly stopped doing it. Now I've started it again I failed the first Tutor Marked Assignment, so I knuckled down and in the last three weeks, I've done three Tutor Marked Assignments. I have come out with a 90% on TMA02 and TMA03 and have just submitted TMA04.
-David
I AM VERY PLEASED TO HAVE SUCCESSFULLY FOLLOWED MY TIMETABLE ENABLING ME TO STUDY AND SUBMIT AN ASSIGNMENT EVERY FIVE DAYS, MAKING A TOTAL OF SIX FOR THIS MONTH, AND OF COURSE A PASS WITH NO RESITS. REMEMBER IT IS MY FIRST MONTH. MANY THANKS TO MY TUTOR TEAM FOR MARKING MY WORK IN TIME.
-Martin
It is not easy at my age (62) to admit that there is a crying need to "start again" and re-build a skill or trade, from the ashes of the old, following a double heart attack, and told after my (18) months recovery, to have to learn to learn again a new and rather alien concept of working makes me nervous, and a bit lost sometimes but very determined to prove I CAN do it, so here's hoping, and thanks anyway for the chance.
-Brian
Studying has been against all odds this month. I had a bereavement in the extended family, I had to take my wife to another UK region to do her training everyday rom Tues through to Friday...and then go for work and look after children from School but I managed to study and finish my assignment
-John
I Managed to get started and studied all the material and submitted my course work and got the TMA 100% correct despite being made redundant shortly after deciding to start the course and having to deal with liquidators and start finding a new Job. Although I consider myself computer literate I have still learned new things and look foward to the rest of the course. I have even managed to helf fix my mothers pc. She's 75 and just recently started to use a pc.
-William
OVER THE LAST TWO MONTHS I HAVE COMPLETED MY COURSE AND I AM WAITING FOR MY EXAM DATE.I HAVE STUDIED VERY HARD SOMETIMES TOO HARD AS I HAD TO RESUBMIT TWO OF MY TMA BECUASE OF STUDING AND SUBMITING TMA S LATE AT NIGHT OR EARLY IN THE MORNING AND MAKING SIMPLE MISTAKES.I HAVE ALSO STARTED TO HELP MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS WITH THE PROBLEMS WITH THERE COMPUTERS FOR EXAMPLE MY COUSIN HAD A PROGRAM THAT WAS NOT RESPONDING AND HE PHONED ME TO ASK FOR ADVICE, BECAUSE OF THE EXPERINCE GAINED THROUGH THE COURSE I WAS ABLE TO GUIDE HIM THROUGH EACH STEP OVER THE TELEPHONE TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM.
-Adrian
The first part of my course I found it very difficult to study sufficiently to take the TMA's with any degree of frequency due to change in my job and the loss of a close family member and then a house move! In October all of the upheaval finally settled and I set my self a target of submitting One TMA per week going forward, which to date I have managed to achieve and have just minutes ago sent in my 4th one , so I am very proud to have kept myself on track!!
