IT Training Courses Certification Reviews
I HAVE REALLY MADE AN EFFORT WITH MY COURSE OVER THE PAST FEW MONTHS, I HAVE TRIED MY HARDEST TO LEARN AS MUCH INFORMATION AS POSSIBLE AND RETAIN IT. I HAVE BEEN TESTING MYSELF USING THE A+ TEST EXAMINATION PRACTICE TESTS AND IT REALLY SEEMS TO HELP ME. AT THE MINUTE I AM AVERAGING AROUND 80% ON EACH TEST THAT I COMPLETE, WHICH MEANS MY INFORMATION RETAINING LEVEL IS PRETTY HIGH.

IT IS A PLEASURE TO TELL YOU THAT I HAVE BEEN MADE ASSISTANT LAB ATTENDANT IN MY PLACE OF WORK WHEREAS I WAS ONLY A SECURITY OFFICER.
I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN TRYING TO SHOW MY MANAGER HOW GOOD I AM IN COMPUTER RELATED ISSUES BUT WOULD NOT LET ME UNTIL LAST FRIDAY WHEN THE MAIN MAN IN CHARGE OF THE SCHOOL COMPUTER WAS ON LUNCH BREAK AND THE HEADMISTRESS INVITED ME TO HER OFFICE, BEING THE ONLY MAN AROUND WHO CAN AT LEAST HAVE AN IDEA ON COMPUTER NOT CONNECTED TO THE NETWORK.
I WAS GRANTED ACCESS TO THE SCHOOL NETWORK AND WAS ABLE TO LOG HER (THE HEADMISTRESS) ON TO THE NETWORK.
I WAS PRAISED AND MADE THE ASSISTANT NETWORK MANAGER.
THANK YOU

THIS HAS BEEN AN AMAZING OPPORTUNITY FOR ME TO GO WITH THIS COURSE AND NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD EVER BE ABLE TO EVEN GET STARTED ON THIS. THANKS THOUGH TO ALL STAFF AT SKILLSTRAIN AND SUPPORT FROM HOME I HAVE BEEN GIVEN THIS AMAZING OPPORTUNITY AND SO FAR I THINK PERSONALLY I HAVE ACHIEVED SO MUCH ALREADY, I HAVE PASSED ALL TMA'S AND FEEL REALLY PROUD OF MYSELF. I THINK I HAVE DONE SO WELL AND PUT AN UNBELIEVABLE AMOUNT OF EFFORT INTO THIS WHILE JUGGLING WITH A NEWBORN CHILD. EVEN IF YOU DO NOT THINK I HAVE ACHIEVED MUCH, I FEEL I HAVE ACHIEVED SO MUCH BY EVEN JUST GOING AHEAD WITH THIS COURSE.

Since I started my course back in October all I wanted was to prove to myself tht I could do it....everyone around me was suspicious and reluctant about it but I never looked back.
I am a 38 year old mother and not only I am looking after my 6 year old son,but also my disabled mother is living with me at present. I am working in the retaiil and this course will give me an opportunity to do better in the future.
I have completed my first 3 TMA's and that is something I am very proud of.
It is very hard as english is not my first language, but hopefully as I go on it will become easier.
I would like to take this opporunity to thank you for taking time to read this.

I Started the CIW Web Designers course about two years ago on the advise of a friend. I've been designing websites for about eight years. I am self taught and studied web design through various books. I've always wanted to further my career and take my skills to a new level and The Skills Train is my journey to fulfil my ambition. I play in a professional band and tour a lot worldwide and usually take my study material with me. My goal with the help of my tutors is to complete the course and take my exams and hopefully move my skills to a new level. There were some parts of the course I didn't fully understand but the Tutors were on hand to help me through it.

I am doing really well in my course and am really enjoying it, it's given me a light at the end of the tunnel after a particularly trying year, be nice to upgrade my equipment as well. I was made redundant in July this year so this course is my life line to changing things for the better for me and my family.
-Mark
I have completed my CIW website design course and I have completed two websites that are now on the Internet. Also I have taken my first exam and passed that.

The most significant accomplishment for me was my new job. After a long wait, I have moved into the IT industry. I am now working as a Technical Sales Advisor. Prior to this I was working as a part-time cleaner!
In the interview I had an assessment to complete. Knowledge and understanding, which I only got from studying with SkillsTrain, assisted me a lot. Lacking the knowledge of this course, I can guarantee I would not have been successful for my Advisor position. Before I stared this course I had no knowledge with regards to the computing environment but now I have encompassed a lot of things which has aided me to achieve my goal.
Furthermore, using the knowledge from studying the course I have helped many family, friends and neighbours with setting up their computers, wireless networks etc.
I haven't covered a great deal yet, however I am astonished at the skills I have acquired so far. My results have also been very good. I have achieved over 85% in my recently submitted TMAs. I very much like the style of the presentations, support notes and most importantly the excellent live Internet training labs, which is unbelievably helpful.
I am proud & thrilled of being part of such a great IT learning centre. I wish to convey my gratitude & appreciation to all at SkillsTrain.
Thank you and Well Done.

In just starting with my A+ course I'm finding it very helpful getting to know the working of computers. I've done 4 assignments so far, and things make more sense now and I'm finding it fun and very interesting the more I do.

Since the beginning of the year I have taken and passed Comtia A+ and Network+. I studied up to the end of CCNA1 of the old syllabus and have now completed the CCNA1 and plan to have completed CCNA2 by the end of the year.
I work full time and have four children so studying can some times be difficult. I have to be very strict about how I study. Every evening after the kids have gone to bed, even when I don't really feal like it.
Don't know what I'll do with my time when I've finshed, or rather what was I doing with it before I started.

I have just submitted my assignment 19A which is the revision part of the section 1. I did this assignment whilst being under alot of stress at work due to lots of incidents that took up lots of my time, so I didn't think I would be able to achieve a very good mark. I thought I would of had to re-submit the work, but my hard revision payed off as I obtained 100% in the assignment which I could not believe.
From the skills I have learnt in my course so far I have been able to diagnose several problems with computers and printer most notably was my home PC which when I turned on the power light at the front stayed amber and then fan on the processor accelerated to maximum speed. I realised that it was a motherboard fault or possibly a processor, so I replaced the motherboard and it now seems to be working fine.
I have also helped out lots of my friends with problems with theren computers from running slow to virus infection, it has been a very exciting month for me as I have realy been able to test my knowledge of the course so far.
I am very pleased with my tutor assignment marks for the last section as they have all been above the 80% mark which again I hadn't expected due to lots of extra work from my da to day job. I am very pleased to have the oportunity to do this course and everyday I am learining new skills, and I now look to a brighter future in this sector.

I started this course with a strong and determined mind and have maintained a consistent grade with my TMAs. I'm very pleased with my results so far, as I'm under a lot of pressure in home life as I'm currently living 65 miles apart from my partner and daughter and adopted this course to provide a better way of life for us all.
-Simon
At the beginnig I didn't know a lot about computers, but after three assignements I have knowledge about it, like the components of a PC, the power supplies, the command mode and how it works! The main achievement is that I'm happy that I have found the right path towards a career in this life.
-Sami
I just recently lost my job which really turned me down but I didnt let my unemployement come in my way and continued to study hard and twice the effort and am really close to finish my first part of my student material and am looking forward towards the next part of my course.

I started the A+ course in late July '07 and have just received the TMA 31a back from marking (100%). I'm not going to start the N+ course until after Christmas as I could do with a break.
It's been a struggle to find the time to do the course as my mother in law has been in hospital to have part of her right lung taken away due to Big 'C'. She's at home now but as that's only down the road the phone doesn't stop ringing.
I found the course comparitively easy and have had some 'stick' from work colleagues who try to tell me that I'll not get employment as I'm too old to make a career change.
My reply is that I'll take my chance with SkillsTrain to keep their word about assisting me to find employment, and anyway 59's not old and I'm just getting started. My scoring for the TMAs is in the high 90s and my aim is to follow the A+ with similar scores in N+ and after that CCNA and complete them all within 2 years.

We all have come a long way (SkillsTrain college, myself and all students of the college). I started off on a SkillsTrain IT programme without thinking of the implications of doing so. Now, I have realised the impact of my actions which comes with huge responsibilities IT-wise. Having completed the first two parts of my programme with the college, I almost gave up on carrying on with the third part (CCNA) due to sickness, finance, etc. I didn't give up due to support from family and friends, now I am happy I continued.
I have just made my first professional money from repairing a work colleagues PC. Hopefully, I would be tarnsferred/promoted to the Applications Department by January.
I just succeeded in configuring a router (might be simple for other people, but never thought I could ever try it in my whole life).
Most of my work colleagues and friends now call on me once their PC encounters any type of hitch (they don't want to know if I could resolve the problem or not - all they know is that Donny has been trained by SkillsTrain college).
Thanks SkillsTrain for the career and personality boost.

Within just four weeks I've managed to complete the entire Section 2 Part B of CompTIA A+ course, having a full time job, working on shift pattern (usually 10 hours per day) and looking after my family. I've been studying very hard, pushing myself to complete this section within a week and my aim was not to get below 90%. I've achieved that. Now I'm waiting to submit TMA30, do the revision suplement and pass the exam.
-Konrad
I have managed to complete Section 1, Part A of the A+ course this month and I have a achieved a high score average. I regard this a excellent accomplishment and feel that I have been rewarded by my hard work.
Thank you
-Chris
I have just restarted the course after a 2 year break. in that 2 years I have been divorced, re-married and bought a new house. The last experience I have had with studying is 27 years ago while at school. It has taken me some time to get back in the flow and trying to allocate time to study. Since restarting the course I have managed to repair and rebuild an old computer for my kids to use for their school homework. I saw an old PC but it is a Dell P4 that was being skipped by my employer. I managed to purchase new Ram and Operating system. I formatted the origional hard disk (One of the proviso's for having the PC) and upgraded the RAM from 512Mb to 1GB and reinstalled Windows XP. I also connected a wireless router to the PC and connected it to the Internet for my kids. Thanks to SkillsTrain I can now do this for my kids, which means a great deal to both me and them.

I have exceeded my expections on how well I would do on this course, albeit a slow progress due to work commitments and such like, I am making progress and not getting under 95% on average....mostly at 100%.
