I just recently started this course. I new how to use a computer but not much else about them. In just a few short weeks I have completed 4 TMA's and was very pleased with the results I achieved on them. I have just submitted my fifth (fingers crossed). I've been given 2 PC towers which I can do with what I like. Before I started this course I would have not dared taking one to bits and put it back together again, already my confidence has grow significantly.

After suffering a severe Angina attack, which hospitalised me for a few weeks, I am now ready to attack my A+N+ course again, and to continue getting the results I look forward to so much. This set me back a little, but I have almost completed the modules, and now am eager to continue my studies. Many thanks to Skillstrain

In the time I have been studying with the skills train I have managed to find myself a full time job which is 40 hours a week and also managed to complete 3 TMA's with a degree of ease.

My current job is working in the car industry as a Team Leader. I have masses amount of responsibility and stress put on my shoulders, day in, day out. I get back from work, and all I want to do is lay down on the sofa and go to sleep, but I don't. I get out my coursework and crack on with it, night after night. I feel this as being a massive achievement for me. The thing that drives me is knowing that I am going to gain something worthwhile at the end of it.

I just thought l would give myself a pat on the back, as l think my results so far on my Tutor Marked assignments have been really good, at the start of the course l wondered what l had let myself in for, l had a keen interest in the subject but have never attended College or Uni and all my computer skills are self taught, being a more mature student l did wonder how much would sink in, but l think the old brain is coping, I have found that l have had the confidence to help someone at work who is using a GUI to update the website, before this course l wouldn't have even known what a GUI was let alone talk about it. I know l still have along way to go, but l am hoping with what l have learnt so far that l will be able to pass my first exam and continue to achieve a high standard.

Hi, I have just got my very first TMA back and I was very pleased to find that I
had received 100%. This is a big achievement for me as I went to a special
school for leaning disabilities from the age of 12yrs due to being partly deaf until the age of 12yrs. which made me very much behind in my education. And we did not do any exams in my school so there for I have know qualifications. So for me this really is a big achievement and I will keep on doing the best I can.

After struggling with javascript last month, I am now grasping an understanding and feeling confident using it within html web pages. Sometimes you reach a block that you cant pass and thankfully due to the tma process of testing, marking and asking you to resubmit, I get the chance to see exactly where my knowledge is weak or unclear and put it right before I move on. The feedback is excellent and really makes a difference when you are studying alone. The explanations consolidate and confirm my understanding and the comments point me to the right area of revision. This course is so enjoyable and is changing my life. The internet is the most powerful sales medium aside from television that has ever existed and it still amazes me how someone across the world can access your website within seconds of you publishing it to the web. I am overwhelmed sometimes with the technological advances being made worldwide and am so glad that with the successful training given by skillstrain I am going to be able to be a part of the future of this area of computer technology.

Started my course a long time ago and after having my second child felt a bit under pressure with time. Having a full time job and a new born, as well as a very active 2 year old, I found studying time difficult to come by. I have also, in the past twelve months, had to deal with the death of my father. My son is now six months old and my daughter 3 years, I still work full-time and have found; with the greatest support from my partner, studying time a lot easier to come by and a lot less stressful. I have developed a new technique and have worked so hard to try to achieve better results. I covered over half of Part 1, Section B in under two and a half weeks and have submitted 3 TMA's in that time. I have recieved 100% and 80% for the first two and am awaiting my third and final result for this section.

I have completed my first website: www.sidewalk-scarborough.org.uk and have also included Perl scripting in the contact page. I am enjoying the course and really looking forward to getting stuck into Dreamweaver - so much so I have been already doing background study and am creating my own blog using DW mx2004. I have been liaising with local web designers and getting good advice from them as well as from course tutors
- thanks for all the support Skillstrain!

I feel I have achieved a lot since the start of the course. I am a new mum so juggling my time can be very difficult and stressful, as I still work full time hours.
I am very proud of myself in getting so far on my course already, I thought it would take much longer with so little time on my hands. I have passed 5 TMA's without having to retake any.
I am also enjoying the course which is one thing I didn't think I would say. To successfully complete the course would mean the world to me and my family!
Thanks!

I have not long turned 20, and since I was 15 I have worked so hard and not gained any experience that compliments what I want to achieve ultimately!
Lots of friends went to college and University, me I went to work and tried making a living on something im not interested in what so ever. So I decided I am going to do something to put my interests and, what I thought I was good at to the test. I searched and I searched for something that not only said "learn Web Design" but more like "BE A Designer/Developer/Security analyst/CIW" - I didn't even know what this was until I found it! I just thought - you either know computers, or you don't!
So here I am, Still earning Minimum Wage working a 12-13 hour day, help to look after a busy household and Study in between and I don't really get a lot of time to do much...but my motivation seems to be...a dream...I know that the fun starts when the course is complete!
I have just finished the first part of my course, and even though I have a very busy workplace, I have set up a small network in the offices, organize a Back-up routine and implemented new ways of running an online filing system, I have also taught my Managing Director to organize his desktop and internet browser to his taste without changing his computing habits (unfortunately). He's also customized his desktop himself - something he seen me do and thought it looked "fun!?!".
So during my short adventure (to be continued) my achievements have been very unexpected. I started my TMA's getting 80% and above, which I didnt think was too bad, until I read my report, and from the helpful comments by the Tutor Team it allowed me to scan straight to the point of the section and in a short time educated myself in different ways of study to cater for MY needs. Now I have received TMA04 and have scored 99%, and more to the point I know WHY and HOW I got 99%. Following this, I have just submitted my last TMA for this part of the course and expect no less!
I never realised the internet was such a great resource for learning, Making that enquiry was the best thing ive ever done, and im showing myself results only 15 Weeks in!

Working 14 Hours a Day and Looking after 4 Children all over the weekend , gives me very little free time but I'm pushing the envelope at the course just completed tma 20, I'm well ahead of my schedule and have two exams booked in this month. I'm waiting for my next part of the course as well as working on the 270 updated exam course module. The next three months are going to be really busy for me.

Hello I would like to start by saying that I had a bad start to the new year, There was a family tragedy at the start of the year, also my husband was made redundant, In which he was off work for several months, I stopped smoking 10 months ago and went through a mini depression phase while my husband was unemployed. However I applied for an office job in which I had no experience what-so-ever but when I told them at the interview about my course and showed them my TMA's and power point presentation they were impressed, also the fact that I have paid for the course myself showed how keen I was. I am now working in that office in which I cannot believe it as it is what I have always wanted to do but never had the confidence until I started this course, I am also enjoying full-time as I have always worked term-time around my children and I am now socialising with the office staff and cannot believe my luck. My employer lets me do my course during work time if I am up-to date with my own work so I am on a win-win situation as I am learning and getting hands on experience. I feel now as though I have a new lease of life. and I can't believe how lucky I am getting this job. I know it is down to skills-train and would like to take this opportunity to thank you all , and when things seem bleak (every cloud has a silver lining)xxx

My family tell me that they are proud of me but there is no one prouder than myselfx

Well, to be honest with you, not much, but still a little bit more then I expected from my self.

Well first of all decided to study very hard and in about week and a half time got through half of the first A+ book. Just a bit lazy to send TMAs one after another. But so far so good 90, 93, 90... now waiting for tma 4 to come back. (dont get 100 cause not a genius :) ). Still looking after my family (1 year old boy, my finance and dog :) ). And of course I'm the ONLY one who works... full time,BUT got great job. I work in Cisco call centre (yahoo! :)) CIN1 at the moment, but only started this job, so my plans are to finish probation time, then do CSE and then (a bit later) CCNA. I hope I will be able to combine Family, MCSA and CISCO!!

But there are lot more things that I try to do at the same time: playing guitar, making music. So its quite hard to do everything, cause after I come home from work there's not much time.

Before I started this courses I knew nothing about IT, was just good PC user. But now I REALLY ENJOY all this stuff. And I'm trying to do my best to get sorted with certifications and bring more money, more positive and better living into my family, and give them better future.

My main motivation for all this was, cause when we moved in UK (about 1.5 ago), we had so much trouble, we've been even homeless, because of fraud people (unfortunately it could happen everywhere). Changed 4 addresses in this period of time, because there were still a lot of problems and difficulties. And we where so fed up with all this situations, so as soon as we got sorted with all this problems and settled in Belfast, I decided to do something that will give us some stability and give us better future. Cause you know by yourselves, FAMILY is the MAIN THING!!

Thank You for Your time,

Prior to doing the nplus course I had very basic computer knowledge,I have a full time job and have to study around this and my access is limited to a computer as at the moment I am using my partners who is also a full time student.I have recently submitted the first 2 test papers and achieved 100% on both of which I feel I have done well.I feel in the hard work I am putting in to this course is paying off as I am growing in confidence and knowledge.I am fully committed to this course and have already enrolled on the mcsa course of which will start on successfully completing the nplus course.

Hello,
why do I think that I achieved a lot during the last month? Well, I was able to finish my first part of the course A+ and I am looking forward to take an exam in the next weeks in London. I have already started to studying N+ part of the course and I do really like it. I am increasingly aware that my decision to study with Skillstrain was a good decision. When I started to study I worked in night - shift pattern and it was very difficult to find the time for studying but since I have changed it and I do the day shifts it is much better. I prepared myself a special kind of schedule where I wake up in the small ours in the morning and I do learn. It really helps because I have a lot of time to think about different subjects from the Objectives Book during the day so it is very efficient. Last month I helped to my friends successfully( using remote desktop utility )repair their computers and set up wireless networks and protect them with WAP where needed. I was even able to help to set up several computers at work and to sort out a software problem at the hydraulic company where I am employed at the moment. I hope that I will be able to find a computer related job as soon as possible and develop my skills. All studying materials are very beneficial to me and I like to implement them in day to day life. I am originally from continental Europe so I have sometimes difficulties with the language - but since I have started studying I have improved at the language very much. I keep my self testing A+ examination software and I am doing very well. I hope I will pass the exam. So fingers crossed. Thank you Skillstrain.
